It's been a while. I actually had been sitting on this draft since beginning of spring last year, but struggled to come up with a punchline. By the time I thought of a potential one it wasn't very relevant anymore and I... procrastinated. Hard.
The freak snow storm a couple days ago inspired me again and I reckon it is good enough for a punchline.
Life is so busy. I'll take this comic thing casually this time around, instead of pressuring myself to stick to a schedule, otherwise I'd give up entirely out of guilt. Drawing whenever inspiration strikes and when time allows motivates me better, I think.
I am so used to wearing a mask, I sometimes even forget I had it on!
By the way, Happy Lunar New Year!
Yesterday was my first Hourly Comic Day and it as a fun challenge! Here's a day in life of yours truly. It's more roughly drawn compared to my usual comics because I had to do quick scribbles on my sketchbook so I could get on with my day. As you can probably gather, I've been busy trying to pack and unpack and organise my life. I can see the light at the end of the tunnel though! I'll be back to drawing comics more often soon!
Sorry for the cynical comic :P It’s just that I’ve been hurt before. The fight is not over yet to shake this horrible year off. Let’s not let our guard down, learn from 2020, and try our best not to let 2021 be 2020 v2.0.
Also sorry for the lack of updates, I have been very busy with some of my own changes in life. Hopefully, I will be back to more regular uploads in a few weeks.
A few weeks ago, I got news from home that our family cat passed away. Her name was officially Elly but we called her Meow Meow because that's how we tried to get her attention at the beginning, and she eventually thought it's her name. I basically just brought her home one day despite my parents' protest, intending to foster her temporarily. We immediately fell in love with her and she stayed despite her being a moody cat.
Anyway, I was flicking through Facebook to reminisce my time with her and found I had drawn a few comics about her! I thought it's a good tribute to redraw one of those comics. RIP Meow Meow. Hope we gave you a good life.
Birthday redraw! You know when a waiting staff says “Enjoy your meal” and you reply “You, too!”... I call this a “You, too” moment.
Sorry I haven’t uploaded anything for two weeks. Been a bit preoccupied dealing with a few things. Also it was my birthday last weekend! I still had a lovely one, all things considered.
Oldie redraw. Looking at you, Jamie Oliver.
Like, seriously. I was watching Uncle Roger’s review of Jamie Oliver’s egg fried rice video, and he even olive oiled the bowl that he was going to serve the rice in! What the hell?
I am enjoying working from home.
Hope everyone is doing okay.
Late again :( I’ve been quite busy this month. Hopefully, I’ll be able to get back to the regular schedule after I’m done with Drawlloween.
Anyway, redraw is a sequel! And that concludes the October horror themed comics. Happy Halloween!
Thought I should stick to spooky themes this month! This is a different kind of comic. It's more of a journal entry but in comic form.
Been meaning to draw about one of my sleep paralysis experiences, which I get occasionally with various hallucinations. This common shadow monster is also a regular of mine. After I learned the hallucination is basically from mixing dream and reality, I tried to approach it like a lucid dream to cope with the horror... and that turned out to be pretty useless.
Side note: I am unable to talk or scream during sleep paralysis, so that conversation I had with that drawing was also in my head.
Thought it would be a good idea to redraw some horror themed oldies this month!
The long weekend gave me some Monday blues on Tuesday (yesterday) and I couldn’t get a comic up in time :( Drawlloween on top of comics is quite a challenge!
I am doing Drawlloween this year! On Day 4 the prompt was “Hair Scare Routine” and my sketch turned out to be a comic, so I did a redraw of it to upload here! You can find the original and follow my October art challenge journey on my instagram @chloetse
I have to admit, panel 3 may be the cutest fucking thing I’ve ever drawn in my entire life. I love red pandas too much!
Oldie redraw. Disclaimer: That’s my old dentist. My current dentist is very lovely!
Yes yes I know that’s not always how they got rid of the xenomorphs, and may not technically be a planet, but ejecting into space is almost a loose tradition, and we must think ahead about the space environment and not let it become the space version of the pacific garbage island!
Oldie redraw. This one brings back some really fond memories. I remember when I first drew this comic, I was sitting in the upstairs room of a cosy little cafe with a group of friends. We were working on our own art, chatting away, exchanging creative ideas and giving each other feedback. This is the result of that lovely afternoon <3
