The fandom be like….waiting for the covers and blurbs.
I am happy people are reading for pleasure. People don’t need an English degree to enjoy a book. Who even thinks about POV when choosing a book? I don’t think most people consider it. I suppose if readers want to discuss books, it is probably a good idea to understand basic literary terms, but I don’t judge. I say read, enjoy, learn, and grow.
The problem isn’t the lack of understanding; the problem is dogmatism and a lack of intellectual humility.
Lucien is not sassy. Please, just stop making shit up! When I read Lucien described as sassy, I want to bleach my eyes.
Lucien is a cynical, judgmental, self serving little fox. He might be a good guy, or he might be a bad guy, but Lucien is not a sassy guy.
I loathe the word sassy now.
Over the course of three books, the interactions between Elain and Lucian are uncomfortable. There is absolutely nothing romantic or even friendly between them. In fact, Elain seems repulsed by Lucien.
I truly don’t understand how anyone can read the books and honestly conclude that SJM is preparing readers for an epic love story for Elain and Lucien.

He brought you a present. Those doe-brown eyes turned toward me. Sharper than I’d ever seen them. And that entitles him to my time, my affections? ACOFAS, CH 18
