Alright listen, I can’t live here.
I’ve mentioned before that I live with my mom and I am currently trying (to no avail) to find a job. I mean it in all seriousness, I can’t live here anymore. Things here are absolutely horrid. There are too many people so we basically live week to week when it comes to food because my mom get’s payed bi-weekly and she’s the only one working. On top of that she doesn’t handle stress well, at all. She isn’t physical thankfully, but she slams things around and says really, borderline abusive, things to me and my siblings. Onto the subject of siblings, my younger brother is a complete ass-wagon, who has indeed threatened assault on me multiple times because he can’t handle when people talk back to him, he commands authority and respect he doesn’t deserve. (when I say younger brother I mean he’s 16 I’m 19 so he’s not like an 11 year old threatening to hit me and tell mom.) I wish I could explain all this in ways that would sound worthy of donations but this is the best I can do. I have medical issues that I can’t afford to take care of as well as mental issues. I have a 4 month old dog that my mom likes to assert that I’m doing NOTHING to raise and take care of even though I’m home alone with both her and my sister’s dog all day and am pretty much the only one who does anything for them as far as needs go. I don’t have a goal here, I’m just asking for donations so I can get a head start, hopefully a job will pull through soon so I can have actual income and not keep having to ask for donations. My paypal is bellow, please consider donating something, if you don’t want to/can’t PLEASE FOR THE LOVE OF EVERYTHING just REBLOG THIS. You’d be helping me out a lot.

actually, i’m not just gonna leave that in the tags: Catholics used the Holocaust as an opportunity to steal and convert Jewish children. Catholic authorities refused to return the Jewish children they “saved” to their families after the Holocaust ended. we have no idea how many children we lost.
they used our genocide to steal our babies.
literal cultural and religious genocide
“b-but we love israel? Why won’t Jews be our friends?”
I seem to recall a story about the rosh yeshiva of Ponevezh (R’ Yosef Shlomo Kahaneman) who went looking for these children after the war. When Catholic monasteries and abbies tried to refuse him entry, so the story goes, he would ask, I just want to say one sentence to whatever crowd of children you have here. And the authorities in each place would look at this tiny, shuffling, bearded rav and let him in.
So the rosh yeshiva would go to the classroom or the cafeteria or whatever, wherever the children were, and he would put his hand over his eyes and say the six words of the Shema. “SHEMA,” He would start, slowly enough, “ADO-NAI ELO-HEINU,” and he would hear little voices joining in, “ADO-NAI ECHAD!”
And sure enough, when he quickly uncovered his eyes he would see little kids blinking up at him, wondering where he came from. The Shema is the first prayer a Jewish child learns, and it is the last prayer one says before death. Time among Christians would not have taken it from all the Jewish children.
At every place, the story goes, Rav Kahaneman walked away with Jewish orphans, children that the Catholic authorities had denied were Jews.
And everyone forgets that Rafael Lemkin’s original definition of genocide did not require death of the individual; it allowed for the death of the culture.
As disabled members of the lgbt community we should be celebrating marriage equality, right? but unfortunately us disabled people who rely on government support to survive risk losing everything and becoming totally financially reliant on our partners if we marry or even move in together.
sources: x x
What the fuck.
Please raise awareness of this. Please let people know. I am disabled, and I am so afraid I will never be able to get gay married. It breaks my heart every day. We fought so hard to get these rights, but so many of us still cannot access them, and that’s frankly disgusting.

The best part is this can be used in both “hello friends,” pause, “and enemies” (two groups) or “Hello friends and enemies” (no pause, as everyone is both).

Businessman, who was hospitalized due to arson attack, says there is no 'incompatibility' between his religion and owning a Jewish store
“I just feel sick,” said the store’s owner, a 44-year-old Muslim who asked to remain anonymous.
“I’m Muslim. I work in a Jewish shop. There is no incompatibility there,” said the businessman, who was briefly hospitalized with shock after seeing the extent of the damage.
Is there anything we (i.e. the Jewish community) can do to support this poor man? I don’t know if this was an attack directed at him personally for fostering a positive relationship with the local Jewish community (which BNVCA theories) or if it was a direct anti-Jewish attack that just happened to be against a shop owned by a Muslim, but either way, we should be standing in solidarity. Bless this man and shame on the attackers.
May kindness and Jewish-Muslim solidarity prevail over hatred.

Just an FYI for those in the US with insurance issues
this sounds oddly plausible
a good doctor will pester the insurance company on your behalf. a couple times in my Back Pain Odyssey my insurance noped out on a procedure, and my doctor called them up and was like “no, really” and they gave in.
so if your insurance is in the habit of going “you don’t actually need TWO months of physical therapy, just walk it off,” tell the doctor who ordered it, and they may very well volunteer to, or agree to, call up the insurance people and go “simon says pay for the fucking therapy.”
For all my peeps out there fighting the good fight against Big Pharma Bureaucratic Bullshit.
Octavia Spencer is bringing her own brand of super-heroism to Black Panther. The Academy Award-winning actress announced on Instagram on Wednesday.
“I will be in MS when this movie opens. I think I will buy out a theatre in an underserved community there to ensure that all our brown children can see themselves as a superhero. I will let you know where and when Mississippi. Stay tuned. #KingsAndQueensWillRise,” she captioned an Instagram post that featured an image promoting the film. “

there really is no way to describe that Gay Sadness™ when you hear your family being homo/transphobic
it’s such a fucking wakeup call on how i am in a bubble and my own imaginary world where its okay and normal to be gay, and then reality hits you in the face
This whole thread is a blessing. 🙌🏾 #BlackCulture
