Lorde is remarkable. Hang on, let me run this record back. Between songs, as Ella Yelich-O'Connor navigated the intricacies of her freshly learned French, it kept running through my mind that this slice of earthly time isn’t even close to Lorde’s peak. We are watching an ascendant woman, making music and performing on a grand scale, that will only continue to get better. That’s mind blowing.

Friday night’s North American Dance was a nice P.S. to the year of Melodrama that I detailed in these pages when I photographed Lorde back in April. The show was another reminder that hopefully I’ll be lucky enough to witness decades of this unbelievable human being’s art. Thanks for being amazing, Lorde. Check out everything Lorde over here.
