pd has a better design than yellow and blue (i loved blue from the answer, but the way she is now? girl...) but i do think it’s odd that she’s so “young...” aren’t gems created as full adults? I get that gems like amethyst and peridot are less mature because that comes with life experience, but pink diamond looks PHYSICALLY young. She’s probably defective and that’s why, but the fact that she’s essentially a little girl of a gem with a bratty attitude is a lil weird to me tbh

For a character written as a boy who expresses his feelings and was originally very empathetic, Steven just... lacks the ability to step into someone else’s perspective even a little bit and it makes him a very irritating protagonist

i hope its okay that i add to this post w a quick sketch, but connie universe where zircon is one of her gem moms?????? sign me UP. zircon teaches connie quick thinking under pressure and helps her deal w her anxiety

i also changed zircons design a bit to reflect the cg star, as well as changed the colors bc her skin and hood tones were super similar to sapphires and it bothered me

connie being quick thinking under pressure and learning to deal with her anxiety would be awesome, it seems she desperately needs that and also?? connie being a navigating adventurer who knows how to work around the land and get people to safety like the Off-Colors seems really consistent with her character!!
