I went drinking with a couple of my coworkers the other night and opened up safari to google something and I felt SAFE okay. Anyways coworker to my left pointed at my screen and looked at me like this 😳 because she recognized the red-white layout of ao3 on sight.
every post about Shane looking at twelve year old Ilya (be it by time travel or just through a photo or something) and growing exponentially more protective of him is real and true in my life btw #RealAndTrue
you may have noticed that my story is disorganized and thematically incoherent and my plot structure is weaker by the verse. this is commentary on the chaos of mortal existence under the yoke of the immortal gods
anyways in the irina lives au that lives in my mind Irina and Yuna meet after the draft and Yuna does nawt like her. Like Yuna’s already fully locked into the rivalry so she doesn’t like Ilya and by extension his family and she so she’s maybe a bit more judgmental than she usually would be right off the bat and also Irina is dressed in like. A fur coat. Mind u it’s the middle of June and it’s HOT and yet she’s still in this ridiculous fur coat and high heels with this flashy Chanel bag hanging from her wrist.
And Irina doesn’t speak a lot of English so she struggles a bit keeping up with the conversation around her but she’s perceptive enough to pick up on Yuna’s tone and gets that whatever this woman is saying isn’t maybe super nice so she’s like ALRIGHT time to be backhanded!!!!!!!
And they spend essentially their entire conversation using their sons as bragging material to one up each other while Ilya and Shane awkwardly stand next to them. Like on the surface they’re super polite and going “aw that’s so great!” all the time but if u listen for longer than two seconds u realize it’s literally like boy mom vs boy mom supreme. Just a constant well my Ilyushka is such good boy he buy me this bag with his signing bonus! :) vs Oh that’s so sweet! I told Shane not to spend money on his dad and I, I just really want him to be secure in his future and use his money for himself :) it’s not like we need it hahaha!! vs Oh well I think my Ilyusha will have long successful career and he’s always been so good at taking care of his family like this! :) but is so nice of you to be so humble!!
So I'm maybe just a liiiiiiittle obsessive, and I wanted to work out the timeline of the show, and figured I'd share it with you all. I can't quite figure out how to format this for tumblr, so I'm going to just c&p images of the tables and then dump all of it in unformatted text I guess under a read more? Please let me know if you can think of a better way for me to do this (without retyping it all!) and please let me know if you see any errors to be corrected.

Someone on Twitter pointed out that all the Boston Raiders players in the show 'Heated Rivalry' are OLD (obviously b/c that is the age of the hockey extras they scrounged up), and I know they aren't in the books, but I do love the idea of Ilya being Boston's problematic baby, literal enfant terrible. The jokes about him looking like a cherub and then acting Like That, always smelling like a cig, constantly running his mouth even when his English is shit, whiny And mean And charming, the little fuck! These old men love their mean baby captain!
the first time this happened to me it kinda felt like a slap in the face but atp whenever I see someone left a rude comment in their bookmark or under a chapter on one of my fics I just kinda have to giggle. Partially because I agree but also. Bestie. Ur not in jail. U can leave at any time, the door is open. Nobody FORCED u to read 600+ pages worth of fic lmao
