Brown rice is a whole grain that’s great to have at dinner. It’s packed with fiber, anti-oxidants, selenium, manganese and naturally occurring oils that help to reduce the risk of disease, aid digestion and stabilize blood sugar levels. The high fiber content of brown rice also means it is more filling than white rice.

If you need to get more excited about drinking water, try flavoring it naturally with fresh fruit and herbs, such as berries, orange slices, mint and lemon or lime slices. Simply fill a large jug with water or carbonated water, fruit, and/or herbs. Store in the refrigerator for about 3 hours. Pour over ice and enjoy!
Asparagus is full of folic acid and vitamin C, which helps bring down levels of stress hormones. Try this: Use a vegetable peeler to create long, thin slivers of asparagus and add to raw salads. Yum!

The high acidity of lemons lowers the Glycaemic Index (GI) of carbohydrates, slowing the rate at which carbohydrates are absorbed, helping to keep you fuller for longer. Even better, the juice from half a lemon provides over half your daily vitamin C requirements, and boosts iron absorption from other foods. So squeeze some lemon over a salad, or enjoy a glass of lemon water immediately before breakfast. What’s your favorite way to incorporate lemon into your diet?
Adding half a teaspoon of banana, caramel or orange extract is an easy way to add flavor but not a lot of calories to your Curves protein shakes! You can get Curves protein shake powder online anytime or stop into the club at 450 W. Broadway and pick some up!
