Happy Pride Month I wish all my trans friends "You are so powerful and cool I hope this makes you feel very powerful and cool"
April 7, 2026 - "All you had to do was pay us enough to live, all you had to do was pay us enough to fucking live"
A worker in Ontario, California, USA, set his company’s warehouse on fire and has a message for the CEO:
“There goes your inventory. You know we may not get paid enough to fucking live, but these bitches (lighters) dirt cheap. All you had to do was pay us enough to fucking live.”[article]/[video]
and there's a bunch of liberals on this post criticising why someone might want to burn down the warehouse where they work, or crying about all those great warehouse jobs (that dont pay a living wage) that were lost due to the fire. Wondering why a warehouse worker might snap when they could just Vote. [link]
Within moments of the man hitting the floor, Sam said a woman ran over and began performing chest compressions. The woman began to cry and screamed out for someone to help her. Sam, who has CPR training, asked her supervisor if she could assist. The supervisor watched the woman heaving her weight into the man’s chest and gave no response. “I started sobbing and said, ‘I want to help, please!’ I know she’s going to get tired and need to be subbed out,” Sam told The Western Edge. The supervisor, who Sam perceived to be in shock, had a simple reply: “It has to be management or safety team. Please get back to work.” “I need to help,” Sam said. “Just turn around and not look. Let’s get back to work,” Sam recalled the manager saying.

so i was going to put a fanfic prompt on tumblr yesterday bc i didn't have time or energy to write it myself and figured there'd be plenty of people who'd love to play with it...
but tumblr has ruined that with their new update. there's no point in posting any new ideas/content/etc if you don't get to see and interact with everyone who reacts to your content. like it's the digital equivilant of someone suggesting an idea in a group of friends and they immediately drown you out with their own ideas and turn their backs on you to discuss it between themselves and strangers they know that you don't.
it's super isolating.
just knowing that reblogging now does that makes me really hesitate to reblog anything for fear that even if i don't reblog with a comment, one of my followers might, and thus i've helped shut out the original speaker.
i no longer want to interact here. i skim through posts, but it's lost its joy. i'm planning to pause my queue indefinitely bc i'm afraid i'll be helping steal posts from people.
congrats, @staff. you've turned your social blogging site into an anti-social platform. you are now anti-creatives, anti-community, anti-friendship. i'm very disappointed in you.
(p.s. since i now have to do this: please leave all commentary in the comments since apparently we're not allowed to have proper conversations anymore)

Former Infinity Ward developer Chance Glasco has claimed Activision had previously pressured Infinity Ward to feature a fictional invasion o
Chance Glasco, one of the co-founders of Infinity Ward and creators of the Call of Duty franchise, has claimed that Activision once pressured the studio to include an invasion of Israel by Iran. This came after Call of Duty gameplay footage was used in a video released by the White House X account, showing a character calling in a Kill Streak before a montage of real-world military bombing footage. Explosions shown in the video are presented alongside '+100' point indicators, echoing kills using killstreaks in Call of Duty games. In response to this video, Glasco wrote on his personal social media account: "This doesn't surprise me. I remember after Activision took over post-Respawn formation there was a very awkward pressure from Activision for us to make the next CoD about Iran attacking Israel. Luckily the vast majority of our devs were disgusted by the idea and it got shot down." He would further elaborate on this, in a response to social media reactions to the same White House video. In one tweet, Glasco claims: "A lot of us devs were appalled because it felt like political propaganda being pushed by Activision." When asked why depictions of an Iranian invasion of Israel felt like political propaganda, while fictional military depictions in other countries like the UK and Mexico were okay, Glasco elaborated on his stance. He said: "My point is that the government would happily use entertainment, including video games, as a way to sway public opinion on major issues. There have been decades of pressure for a war with Iran across multiple administrations. The scenarios you mentioned, not so much."

In case people don't realize the full extent of what's going on, we are under siege in Minnesota. I live in an affluent, majority white suburb of Minneapolis, and ICE is all over the place terrorizing people. They showed up at the library, kitted out in their Temu tactical gear, and stormed it.
The library. Please let that sink in.
They've pulled weapons on legal observers and physically attacked them. They're threatening teenagers and children with death. One woman told a story at my, again, affluent, majority white suburban town's city council meeting this week of being shoved from behind so hard that she fell down by an ICE agent, who then said to her, "Stop touching me." A man, in tears and begging for our city government to do something to help our neighbors, described having a baton pulled on him. They're luring people out of their workplaces with lies about "hitting someone's car in the parking lot" and then abducting them. Citizens and legal residents are being detained. People are being racially profiled and snatched. A teenager (a US citizen) working at Target got dragged out and shoved in a car, then dumped a mile away in a Wal-mart parking lot, beaten up and crying. And all of this is after they murdered Renee Good.
I don't emphasize the demographics of my particular suburb to say "but this shouldn't be happening here, we have money!" but to illustrate that the Trump administration has declared war on a US state. Even if you stick your head in the sand because you're white and won't be directly targeted, ICE is running traffic lights, speeding, tearing the wrong way on one way streets, and causing nasty accidents because they think they're above the law. They think it doesn't matter who they hurt or kill, because they're being told straight from the top that they can do whatever they want to whoever they want.
We are all under attack, and this is coming to a city near you if we don't stand up to it. Please stand with Minnesota, as well as LA, Portland, Chicago, and every other place DHS has sent their COD cosplay gestapo. I don't know what that looks like for you but please, please, don't ignore this.
CBS and its parent company Paramount were recently acquired by the family of Larry Ellison — the third-richest person on Earth and a major Trump donor. The family is now attempting a hostile takeover of Warner Bros/Discovery, which would eventually require Trump's approval. Last night, to further pacify Trump, CBS News removed a segment from “60 Minutes” — just three hours before the broadcast — featuring stories of Venezuelan men deported by the Trump administration to what the program called a “brutal” prison in El Salvador. Bari Weiss, the new editor-in-chief of CBS News, had demanded changes to the segment. This is why you always follow the money — and why you should be alarmed by billionaire control of the media.
don't let bari weiss keep you from the truth. the video is online. share it.

ICE murdered a woman in Minneapolis today. Her name was Renee Good.
Renee Good was a queer white woman, a mother and a wife. She was a US citizen. But too many stories are making sure to include the details of her citizenship first and foremost, even before her name,as if it makes a difference, as if it would have been more understandable or more acceptable if the woman that ICE murdered was an immigrant, documented or otherwise. As if her citizenship should provoke us to a higher level of outrage.
Of course it makes absolutely no difference whatsoever.
When you talk about the death of Renee Good, talk about her by her name. Talk about her courage in being a bystander interventionist and observer of the lawless behavior of the armed agents engaging in an ethnic cleansing campaign in our country. Talk about her family that is left behind after this wanton act of murder. Talk about her as a role model and inspiration for all of us.
But don't talk about Renee Good as a US citizen. It doesn't matter. It's beneath mention.
January 7, 2026 - ICE just murdered a legal observer in Minneapolis, during a protest at an immigration raid, while she was trying to leave, as ordered. [link]
Note: the victim of the murder was, as far as reporting and witness accounts have communicated, not acting in the capacity of a trained legal observer. she was observing ICE activity legally as a US citizen and community member. i don't say this to be pedantic but to clarify that the term "legal observer" has a specific meaning and getting the facts of the situation wrong through internet telephone is a risk we should all try to mitigate.
These gentle, 400-pound giants are splashing back from the brink of extinction.
Green sea turtles have been an iconic endangered species since the 1980s, mostly due to bycatch in fishing nets and taking adults and eggs for food. I have core childhood memories of watching Steve Irwin talk about sea turtle conservation in front of a beach full of nesting green sea turtles.
After 45 years of conservation efforts, their population now meets the IUCN criteria for Least Concern rather than Endangered.
For a species with such a slow life history (it takes green sea turtles decades to reach sexual maturity) and a nearly global population, this is a Really Big Deal. This is the kind of long term conservation victory that many of the amazing humans who started working on green sea turtle conservation back in the 80s didn't live to see.
Just because something isn't fixed right away doesn't mean it won't ever be fixed. Just because the work is slow doesn't mean it isn't worth doing.
