Y/N = Your Name
*I do not own the Bear characters or plot*
He didnât mean to lose you. That was the worst part of it. There was no dramatic fight, no slammed doors, no ugly words he could point to and say, there. No one moment that made it obvious. Just a thousand small cuts he never noticed until you were gone.
Heâd gotten used to Y/N, HIS BEST FRIEND, being there for him, all the time, no matter the time or day.
Used to the way you leaned against the counter while he worked, asking him if heâd eaten. Used to make little comments and jokes to lighten his mood when he started to overthink the small things. Used to show up with coffee when he forgot to drink it and laugh when he pretended not to appreciate it.
And he kept taking that for granted.
The first time you tried to tell him something was wrong, he was halfway through a breakdown over prep orders and burned himself on the stove.
You exclaim, âCarmy.â He snaps, âHold on.â You raise your voice and say, âCarmy, Iâm serious.â He waves you off as he says, âYeah, I just gottaââ
You were quiet after that.
He shouldâve looked at you then. Shouldâve heard the edge in your voice. But the kitchen was loud, Richie was yelling, Sydney was asking for the expo sheets, and Carmy was already splitting himself into too many pieces to keep up with all of it.
By the time he finally turned around, you were gone.
He didnât think much of it at first.
But when he had gone back to his office at the end of the shift, there was a letter from Y/N that said:
Dear Carmen Berzatto, Please accept this letter as formal notification that I am resigning from my position as Host at The Bear. My last day of employment was today. I have truly enjoyed my time working with the team and appreciate the opportunities Iâve had to grow my skills during my time here. Thank you for your leadership, guidance, and support. I wish you & the team the best. Best, Y/N
He freaked out.
He tried calling you, but he was sent to voicemail.
He called Sydney, Tina, Richie, and Marcus into his office the next day to ask about you. Richie said that you got another job on the other side of the city. He suddenly remembers you mentioning another job a few weeks ago briefly, but he didn't think you were serious about quitting.
He gives you space for a couple of weeks.
Until he feels himself drowning at work.
He needs to know why you left.
So he messages you: Did I do something?
Three dots appeared.
Then you replied: It doesnât matter.
That scared him more because it did matter.
...
He stepped out for fresh air from the restaurant, and there you were, waiting near the curb with your arms folded across your chest like you were mad that you were waiting so long. Who were you waiting for?
He exclaims, "Hey." You looked at him, and your expression was so carefully blank it made his stomach drop. âHey.â He shoved his hands into his pockets. âIâve been trying to reach you.â âI know.â âThen whyââ âBecause I didnât want to talk to you, Carmy.â He blinked. âOkay.â You laughed once, but there was no humor in it. âThatâs all youâve got?â âNo, Iââ He swallowed. âI didnât know you were mad.â That made you go still. Then you looked down, shaking your head like you were tired of this conversation. âThatâs kind of the point.â He felt it then. Really felt it. The weight of every time heâd cut you off mid-sentence. Every time heâd promised heâd call back and didnât. Every time heâd been so wrapped up in his own panic that heâd treated your patience like something infinite.
âI thought,â he said slowly, voice rough, âI thought we were okay.â âWe were,â you said. âUntil I realized our friendship only worked if I never asked for anything in return.â He opened his mouth, but nothing came out.
You kept going. âI was there for you all the time. I listened when you spiraled, I came when you called, I showed up when you forgot you had people who cared about you. And you kept acting like Iâd always be there. You never asked me if I was okay. You rarely returned my calls when I needed you most.â His face went hot. âI didnât mean toââ âI know.â Your voice cracked just slightly on the last word. âThatâs the problem, Carmy. You didnât mean to. But it still hurt.â âIâm sorry,â he said, and it came out small. You nodded once, like youâd expected that. âI know,â you said. âBut sorry doesnât get me back in your life, personal or professional.â That sentence hit harder than any shout couldâve. Because he remembered that version now. The one where you laughed easily around him. The one where you didnât flinch before speaking.
He had done that. Not because he hated you. Not because he wanted to. But because heâd been so wrapped up in his own chaos that he forgot friendship wasnât something people owed him forever.
You stepped back. âI need you to stop texting me for a while.â He nodded, though it felt like swallowing glass. âOkay.â âAnd I mean a while,â you added, softer now, but no less final. âI know.â
You gave him a sad little smile. âHurts, doesnât it?â Then you walked away.
He didnât sleep that night. He replayed everything.
Every unanswered message. Every time youâd asked if he was okay and heâd answered with a grunt and a lie. Every moment heâd made you feel like your feelings were an inconvenience because he couldnât afford to have another person needing him when he was already barely holding himself together.
And that was the part that destroyed him: you hadnât left because you stopped caring.
Youâd left because you cared long enough to realize he wasnât caring back the same way.
The next morning, he found the old takeout container youâd left in the fridge weeks ago, your name written on the tape in your handwriting. It shouldâve been nothing. Instead it felt like evidence.
He stood there staring at it until Sydney walked in and caught the look on his face.
âWhat happened?â she asked quietly. Carmy swallowed. His throat burned. Tears brimmed in his eyes. âI think,â he said, âI lost my best friend.â Sydney didnât interrupt, just wrapped him in a hug.

Alex Walter x Male!Reader: Tired Of Being The Second Choice (Request)
Y/N = Your Name
*I do not own the My Life With The Walter Boys plot or characters*
Alex Walter has always been the easy choice â the safe choice, the person people trust, the one who shows up when someone needs him. But heâs tired of being the person people choose after they realize they canât have someone else. Especially when that someone else is Cole. No matter how hard Alex tries, he feels like heâs always standing in his brotherâs shadow, and heâs starting to wonder if maybe heâs the problem.
The ranch is quiet tonight, and you immediately know something is wrong. Alex isnât filling the silence with jokes or random facts like he usually does. Heâs sitting beside you on the porch, staring out at the fields. âYouâve been staring at that fence post for ten minutes,â you say. He blinks and shrugs, âIâm thinking.â You raise an eyebrow, âThat is never a good sign.â Usually, heâd laugh, but this time he doesnât. After a moment, he quietly admits, âJackie picked him⊠everyone always does.â You wait for him to continue, and eventually he says, âI donât know why I keep being surprised. Itâs always been like this.â He tells you that people like him, but then Cole walks into the room and suddenly Alex feels invisible. âEveryone wants Cole,â he admits. âThey like me because Iâm nice. Because Iâm safe. Because Iâm the guy you bring home to your parents. But then Cole shows up, and Iâm just the other option.â You tell him, âYou know whatâs funny? You talk about Cole like heâs the main character in everyoneâs story. Maybe youâre the one making him the main character.â
Alex admits the real fear heâs been carrying: âWhat if Iâm never someoneâs first choice?â He explains that heâs tired of wondering if people actually like him or if theyâre settling because heâs the easier option. âI donât want to be the backup plan anymore.â You tell him, âI have never looked at you and thought, âOh, heâs not Cole.â I look at you and think youâre Alex.â You remind him that heâs the person who remembers everyoneâs favorite things, notices when someone is struggling, and shows up every single time. âYou make people feel like they matter,â you tell him.
Alex quietly asks, âWhat if you change your mind?â You reassure him that if anything ever changes, youâll be honest, but you wonât punish him for other people failing to see his worth. He admits, âI think I spent so much time waiting for someone to choose me that I forgot I get to choose too.â You smile and tell him, âMaybe you donât have to be the better option. Maybe you just have to be yourself.â
For the first time all night, Alex looks like he can breathe. He laughs softly and says, âI hate that youâre good at this.â When you ask what he means, he smiles. âMaking me feel like Iâm not losing.â You look at him and say, âAlex, you were never losing.â He looks down at your hands before admitting, âI think I was so focused on wanting someone to choose me that I didnât realize someone already had.â

Carmy has a long shift at work, and he's exhausted. The one thing he's looking forward to tonight is curling up on the couch with his girlfriend, watching whatever wildly dramatic reality show she's currently obsessed with, and eating dinner together.
He used to make fun of people who watched reality TV.
Then he started dating you.
Somewhere between your running commentary ("Girl, stand up!") and yelling at contestants through the television like they could actually hear you, he realized he'd become emotionally invested too. Now he's the one asking, Wait, is this the guy who lied about owning a yacht?
He'll deny it if anyone asks.
He pushes open the door to your shared apartment. "Hey, babe! I brought you a slice of the salted caramel torte Marcus made." He kicks the door shut behind him. "Babe? Where are you?" Silence. That's... unusual.
He follows the light into the kitchen. You're standing by the window, drinking straight from a bottle of whiskey. Straight. From. The bottle.
Carmy blinks and says, "...Y/N?" You glance over your shoulder, "Oh. Hey." Something is definitely wrong. He walks farther into the kitchen, trying to sound casual. "So... what do you want for dinner?" You shrug, "Something easy. Like peanut butter and jelly."
A peanut butter and jelly sandwich? She wants me to make her a peanut butter and jelly sandwich? I own a restaurant. I've spent sixteen hours arguing about the texture of beurre monté. Marcus made a cake so good I almost cried. And the love of my life just requested the culinary equivalent of "whatever's in the pantry." This is not about the sandwich. This is a cry for help disguised as grape jelly.
Crossing the room, Carmy gently places a hand on your shoulder. "What happened to my little optimist?" he asks quietly. "You seem so down, babe. How can I make it better?" You keep staring out the window and say, "They promoted him....I trained him," you continue. "And he got promoted first. I used to think hard work mattered." His heart sinks. "You always say someone's going to notice how hard you work," he says softly. "They still could." You shake your head. "I don't think they ever were going to." Carmy steps closer, wrapping an arm around your waist before pressing a gentle kiss to your temple. "...I hate hearing you say that." "Why?" you ask. He rests his forehead against yours. "Because you're the person who makes me believe things work out." He lets out a small, humorless laugh. "And if you've stopped believing..." He swallows. "Then who's supposed to convince me?" You reply, "I don't know." He replies, "I'll be positive for both of us for tonight. I'll make us some mac and cheese because that is better than peanut butter and jelly. Then, we'll cuddle and watch TV. And then, we'll sleep off the bad thoughts and wake up feeling lighter." You reply, "If you say so, love." He smiles and presses a kiss to your cheek.

Robert "Bob" Reynolds x Fem!Reader: Will They or Won't They?
ANGST & CRUSHES GALORE:)
Y/N = Your Name
**I do not own the Thunderbolts characters or plot**
Y/Nâs POV
You were finally returning from an undercover mission to find and arrest remaining HYDRA members still living. You were tired and hurt. Your body ached from the fight, and your leg was badly wrapped in gauze by Yelena. Some guy stuck his jagged, medieval-looking dagger into you, and you were too slow. You were mad. How did you get hurt? You'll have to train harder after you recover.
You hear Bucky announce that we're landing at home, aka Avengers Tower. Finally. He promised that he called ahead to make sure someone from the medical team would be there to help with your leg.
You see Bob standing right inside next to the medical staff member who had an empty wheelchair. He always is waiting for you when you return. It's cute.
Yelena leans over to you and exclaims, "Oh look, Bob is waiting for you. Again." You smile and reply, "He's sweet. Don't make fun of him. It makes him happy." She rolls her eyes and says, "Pulling the happy card with Bob, wow. Real original." You smirk and reply, "Wow, you're helping me to the wheelchair, thanks." She sighs and replies, "Of course, mother." She calls you her mother because you look after her. You both struggle with grief and have drunk away plenty of nights thinking about it.
Yelena helps you to the wheelchair and Bob's eyes look scared. You exclaim, "Hi, Bob. It's good to see you again." The medical staff member lets you know that he'll start moving and you nod. Bob follows along. Bob asks, "What uh... what happened?" You answer, "Oh, just a casual stabbing, no biggie." His eyes fly wide, and he says, in a rush, "No, no. It is a big deal! You got injured. You could've died!" You reply, "Bob, look, I know you're worried, but I am in a lot of pain right now. Could you save the lecture for later?" He immediately looks shut down and like he's retreating from you. SH**! Why did you say it like that? You ask, "Can we still debrief later?" He asks, "Are you sure?" You answer, "Of course. I love our debriefs." He smiles and walks away.
The medical staff member calls in his assistant and they perform surgery on your leg.
Bob's POV
What if she thinks I'm rude?
What if she hates me?
What if she died?
What if she dies without me telling her how I feel about her?
What if...
I hear, "Bob! Stop!" I look over to see Yelena standing there with her arms out. I ask, "Yeah, why? What was I doing?" She answers, "You were pacing and muttering to yourself. You resembled a crazy person." I reply, "Maybe I am crazy." She replies, "Maybe, but the best people are. I mean that... So what's worrying you?" I spill my guts to Yelena, and she tries to reassure me that everything will be okay. And that Y/N feels the same way I do about her.
Y/N gets out of surgery in a wheelchair after like 4 hours. I read some random book that was sitting in the waiting area, called "Superheroes For Dummies." I wonder who bought that.
Y/N's POV
The medical staff member exclaims, "So, now that we've gone over your recovery, your friend who has been waiting will take you back to your room. Is that okay?" You see Bob waiting in the chair and smile. You thank the medical staff and call Bob over.
Bob wheels you to your bedroom. He helps you get onto your bed. You ask him to stay with you because you know that you'll have a nightmare about today. He agrees and cuddles close to you.
Bob tells you a bedtime story about deer. It's cute.
You do fall asleep... until...
You wake up shaking, sweating, and scared. Bob whispers positive things into your ear, like "You will be okay. You're safe. You're home. It's me, Bob. I'm here. I'm here for you, always. I love you. You're okay."
It's not until the next morning that you realize that Bob said he loved you!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! Your mind starts racing. You move slightly out of Bob's arms to grab your pain medicine off your table. You take it and lay there, very awake.
Bob rustles a little and opens his eyes slowly. He asks, "Morning, Y/N. Did you sleep well?" You answer, "I did, thank you. Thank you for helping me get here after surgery and for last night. I really do appreciate it. It means a lot to me that you're here for me." He smiles softly and replies, "Of course. I'm always here for you." You run a hand through his hair because a, it looks soft, and b, he's cute in the morning. OK, he's cute all the time. HEHE!
You hear a knock on the door and exclaim, "Come in!" The door swings open to reveal Yelena and Walker. Weird duo. Yelena is holding a tray of breakfast food. She sets it gently on your bedside table.
You ask, "To what do I owe this duo? I've never seen you together, alone and by choice." Walker laughs and says, "We had a reason." You ask, "And..." Yelena says, "You won me $100." You ask, "Yelena Belova, tell me right now what you bet on." Yelena smirks and says, "Oh, first name. Mother, am I in trouble?" You roll your eyes and reply, "Yes, you are. I'm telling Valentina that you love the color hot pink and need a new redesigned outfit. And that your only weapon from now on is going to be your fists. And I'm going to tell her that you and Walker are dating. You want to tell the whole world about it." She replies, "Ew. You wouldn't, right?" You reply, "I would." You have a staredown, and Walker says, "So the reason we came here..." And then, Yelena interrupts him by slamming her elbow into his chest.
Yelena says, "Fine fine. I made a bet that Bob would be in your bed when we came in with breakfast. Walker was less optimistic on Bob's love for you." You glance at Bob who is looking alarmed. Walker says, "To be fair, I just wanted money." LOL.
Walker and Yelena leave after annoying you as you ate breakfast.
Bob asks, "Is it bad that they bet on me sleeping in here? Am I too clingy? Should I go?" You answer, "No. No. And no." He replies, "Ok." You ask, "So uh... do you really love me?" He answers, "I am so in love with you." You smile widely and say, "I love you too, Bob." He smiles and asks, "Really?" You answer, "Of course... I didn't realize it until recently. I just thought I had a small crush on you, but then you made me realize what it's like to be loved. You're here for me as I am there for you. You make me smile. You make me laugh... I guess what I'm trying to ask is, would you like to be my boyfriend? And go on a date when I can move?" He smiles and replies, "Yes and yes. I love you, Y/N."

Patrick Zweig x Fem!Reader: Donât Wait
Y/N = Your Name
Yes, I pulled plot points/ideas from other fics I wrote;) Sometimes you're good, ya know.
*I do not own the Challengers characters or plot*
Y/N's POV
You were at Tashi Duncan's celebration party after winning. You lost in round three. Ugh, you felt horrible. Why do you even try if sheâs playing tennis? But your coach did say that one day everyone can be beaten.
Patrick and Art are your friends because you went to a boarding school near theirs. You had met them 4 years ago and have been friends since. It also made you all closer because you all played tennis. You knew they had the hots for Tashi, but neither of them would make a move. They just stared.
You left them to their pining to get another drink. Tashi approached you and asked about the boys. You werenât surprised.
You're left Tashi to drink and talk with a bunch of random tennis people that you beat at one time or another. They're all good people, though. And luckily, they talk about topics other than tennis unlike Tashi!
You feel a tap on your shoulder and see Patrick standing there. He looks really nervous. You ask, "Hey Patrick, what's up?" He answers, "I need to talk to you... alone." You nod and follow him to a quieter area.
Patrick stands, pushing his hands awkwardly into his pockets, and you ask, "So, um... what's wrong?" He answers, "Nothing, really." You ask, "So then why did you pull me away from those people?" He shrugs and answers, "You're too good for them. Plus, one of the guys has a bet that he can sleep with you before the week is up. I don't want you to get hurt." You reply, "I can handle myself." He replies, "I know you can. I'm just looking out for you." You reply, "Ok, then you should know Tashi asked about you earlier. She seems interested in you ... and Art." He smiles and replies, "Cool, I mean, not in that way... Ugh, I should just say what I wanted to say..." He takes a deep breath and continues, "Y/N, we've known each other for a couple of years, and somehow you're still my friend. I feel like sometimes you're the only person who gets me. You also make me feel so happy and proud of myself, even when I lose matches. You're someone that I can see myself falling for in the future... However, I think I'm a bit of a jerk. I'm not a good person. I don't deserve you. So, don't wait for me. I think we should also stop being friends. Move on from being my friend, too. Weâll both be better off.â You gasp and ask, "I'm sorry, but what the f***?" He answers, "Bye, Y/N." He pats your shoulder and then walks off, leaving you in shock. WTF!?!
You hear through the rumor mill that Patrick started dating Tashi. Weird. You did hook up with the guy who had a bet on you, in exchange for half the prize money. You get $20, then you spend it on candy. You're going to splurge on unhealthy food while you're in the off-season. You need something to live for. You did lose a best friend, after all.
Tashi gets injured a year later and can no longer play tennis. That is good for you because now you have a shot at being number one in the country. Someone up high loves you.
You hear through the rumor mill that Patrick and Tashi broke up. She is now with Art, his friend. That's kind of horrible. You feel bad for Patrick, so you send him a few texts to let him know that you're thinking of him and you still want to be his friend. He never responds. Weird again.
That summer, Patrick randomly approaches you in the dining hall and whispers in your ear, "Be careful. Stacey is planning to sabotage you before the next match." He leaves. Sure enough, Stacey tries to injure you. You get a little scraped up, but nothing worse. You thank Patrick through a text since you never see him.
You see Patrick at your matches the next two summers, and you watch his. He's really a pro. He deserves the number one spot, but Art is coming for him. Tashi is Art's coach, and you think they're both powerful yet vulnerable. If Tashi coaches Art, heâll be a strong player, but what if he starts mimicking her playing and gets her weaknesses?
It's a few years later, and you're checking in for the Challenger.
This should be a big weekend. The competition is ruthless.
You snag your packet at the office, then head to the hotel to check in.
You see Patrick standing, checking in a few people away from you. He glances at you quickly, then glances away. So he still doesn't want to even hang out, great.
You are finalizing your check-in details when you hear Patrick's voice, "Shi*! So you're saying I don't have a room! This is just great! I thought every player had one!â UH OH.
Patrick storms outside, and you follow him. He's leaning against the hotel, smoking. You walk up and exclaim, "I kind of heard the drama, and if you want a place to stay, you could stay with me. I don't mind the company." He asks, "Why would you do that for me? I've ignored you for years." You answer, "Because at one point, we were close. I know you would do the same for me... and it's looking like it's about to rain." He replies, "Thank you, but no." You reply, "Fine, but if you change your mind, I'm in room 1221." You leave and go to your room.
After dinner, you're in your room watching TV when you hear someone knock at the door. You peer through the hole and see Patrick, soaking wet. You guess he changed his mind.
You open the door with a smile and exclaim, "Well, well, well." Patrick sighs and says, "Yeah, I'm sorry for earlier. Does the offer still stand?" You answer, "Of course." You open the door for him, and he strolls inside.
Patrick goes to shower, and you continue watching the house renovation show that was on before.
Patrick gets out of the shower and sits next to you on the bed. He exclaims, "Thanks for letting me crash here for the night." You reply, "You can stay here for the week. I assume the front desk won't suddenly find your room... I left an extra key card on the nightstand by you." He asks, "Do you promise I won't bother you by staying here? I wouldn't want to get in the way of your boyfriend visiting you or..." You answer, "No, no boyfriend to interrupt. I'm single." He replies, "Cool. I am, too. It's underrated." You laugh.
You wake up to Patrick cuddling you. He apologizes.
You attend matches to learn about potential competitors.
That first night, Patrick asks, "What ever happened to that Jordan guy?" You answer, "I don't know how you know about that, but he cheated on me." He replies, "You texted me about him, but you never followed up with the resolution. I wondered." HE READ YOUR DRUNK TEXTS AND RAMBLINGS TO HIM?!? You reply, "You could've texted." He shrugs, and you ask, "Did you ever try to call me?" He answers, "All the time. I wanted to text you back, but I wanted you to have space from me." You reply, "I missed you." He replies, "I missed you, too. I'm sorry."
Patrick cuddles you again. He doesn't apologize this time.
The next night, you and Patrick go out for dinner because you need to fuel up before both of your first matches the next day. You saw several other players out with friends or partners at this diner. Patrick exclaims, "Mike keeps looking at you." You smirk and sarcastically reply, "Good. Maybe I can get laid." He replies, "It's not a joke. I've heard that he's into choking. I don't want you to get hurt." You reply, "Ok, but you aren't my friend. Why do you care?" He replies, "That was rude, but I guess I deserved that...You're supposed to be mine, but instead, I broke you. I hurt you, and I should've never done that. But instead of focusing on the past, I need to take action and move forward." You ask, "What does that mean?"' He answers, "I want to take you on a proper date, if you'll let me." You reply, "I will." He smiles at you.

Johnny Storm x Fem!Reader: Opposites Attract
You control water.
Y/N = Your Name
*I do not own the Fantastic Four plot or characters*
Y/N's POV
You were always Johnny's opposite on the team for space missions.
Johnny was outgoing. You were introverted. He was funny. You were more serious. He liked to flirt. You sucked at it. He liked to dance. You had to be dragged onto the dance floor to participate. He liked to be the big spoon when cuddling. You liked to be the small one.
That's why when you returned from your mission with powers... and yours was water... It didn't surprise you. Your powers could tame Johnny's. Was the universe trying to tell you something? No, probably not. The universe was not on your side.
The first time you and Johnny tried to hug... You both felt so much pain. He felt burnt, and you felt like you were washing away. It was a weird feeling. No more cuddling or even sitting within 5 feet of each other. Reed promised he would make it his priority to find a way for you two to be in each other's vicinity, but other things came up. And your problems were forgotten...
The Silver Surfer had approached you and told you that you two could be a great match. You refused. You didn't think to tell anyone about it because she didn't seem angry, and she just seemed like a girl with powers. You didn't want to alarm anyone. Apparently, that was the wrong decision. Sue and Reed blew up figuratively about it. Johnny tried to side with you, and Ben was confused. Great day.
...
You sit on the roof and just let the rain fall on your head. It feels relaxing out here. Life feels at peace right here.
You hear, "Hey, uh, Y/N." You look and see Johnny holding an umbrella a few feet away from you. He exclaims, "I know Reed forgot about helping us interact more. I don't want to forget about it. I want to be able to hug you again, even if it means one of us is in pain as we test. I think we'll have to go about this carefully because the others wouldn't want us to get hurt. I'm willing for you." You reply, "And I'm willing for you." He smiles and asks, "So, how have you been? I haven't really talked to just you in awhile." You both sit and talk outside as the rain pours for a while.
Eventually, you both go inside and you rest better than you have in weeks.
You & Johnny use a floor of the building that is empty to practice your powers.
The first test just is for you two to stand as close as you can before one of you gets hurt.
The next is a handshake. Then a hug.
You decide to go to this private plot of land that Reed uses for testing purposes to test how your powers would interact. The security outside the area makes you both sign in, so Reed will find out ... soon? But hopefully he won't be mad. Why would he? You can be a scientist, too.
You both count down then you shoot your powers in the air. The water hits the fire, and creates steam that starts to smell smoky. Wow. So you can work together on missions now!
Maybe our opposite powers attract because we're both desperate to be understood by someone.
...
The next mission comes up quickly. Reed is confused when you two ask to work together, but he's fine with it.
Johnny hovers above a broken street, a blaze wraps around him like a second skin. You stand below, one hand lifts, water shooting from the rain-soaked pavement and the burst pipe beside the curb. âTry not to put me out,â Johnny says, smiling even as sparks snap from his fingertips. You look up at him, unbothered. âTry not to get cocky.â He laughs, then shoots a blast of fire. You throw your hand out. Water surges up in a twisting arc, meeting the flame. Flame and tide collide in the space between you, hissing into a wall of steam so thick it swallows the whole block.
Johnny emerges first next to you, still glowing, the heat of him softened by the mist. âYou know,â he says, voice lower now, âmost people run from my powers.â âGood thing Iâm not most people,â you reply. âNo,â he says. âYouâre worse. You can take me out if you wanted." âAnd you,â you murmur, âmake me want to see how much power we can make together.â His eyes flick to your hand, then back to your face. âCareful. That sounds dangerous.â You step closer. âIt is.â
At your signal, he lets the fire roar higher. You answer his call with a spiral of water around his flame, tightening and turning it into a steam that covers the street.
...
You're almost surprised when Johnny pulls you into his room later to make out with you after the mission.
Jamie Tartt x Fem!Reader: London is Lonely
Based on the song by Holly Humberstone - this fic takes place in London, England !!! Richmond is 45 minutes to an hour by tube from central London.
This is angsty with a happy ending:)
Lyrics will be in Italics.
Y/N = Your Name
**I do not own the Ted Lasso characters or plot **
Y/N's POV
But something's missing, I got an empty space And something's different when you leave my place
You were dating Jamie around when he signed with Richmondâs football team. You were ecstatic for him! He was finally on the way to achieving his dreams and goals. You celebrated with fancy champagne in your flat in London.
You helped Jamie move to Richmond to a new flat at the same building as some of his new teammates. He was sad that he wasnât living with you anymore. But you knew he would be happy.
Jamie asked, "How will I do this without ye?" You answered, "I'll be at matches when I can. And when I can't, you'll have a whole team there to be your friend. You'll be okay, Jamie Tartt. You always are. You're strong and capable of great things, love."
Home in London felt different without Jamie around. It felt bleak. You knew that putting all your happiness into your relationship is bad? But like, who doesn't?
Jamie started to make friends with teammates. You started to see them on his social media feed, hanging out at pubs and at practice. He looked happy.
You told him on a recent call, "You're the best damn football player that Richmond has ever seen, Jamie. Keep it up."
You leaned heavily into work and hung out with your friends more.
Life felt manageable.
So I'll try not to say what I mean when I call you up And I'll try not to think of the distances between us
Jamie's calls become less frequent once the football season starts back up. He gets busy and social. He is more edgy when you talk about matches and interviews that you've watched.
You go to a few matches when you're not busy with work. You sit in the friends and family section. Jamie's family never shows up. You're his support system. It feels like a lot of pressure. But you're there.
Jamie's POV
Any minute now I swear I'm gonna lose my mind So many people, it's so easy to get lost sometimes
I feel so overwhelmed recently. I know I'm popular and talented, and everyone wants a piece of me. But what about me? Do I get a break? My girlfriend can't even visit a lot, which sucks. I miss her.
I call Y/N less as I get busier. She seems like she is slipping away from me. What happened to us?
So I break up with Y/N. It just seems like we're in two different phases of life right now. It makes sense.
Winter sets in and it's cold. I start missing the warmth of Y/N. So I ask out Keeley, she's been hanging around a lot. She seems nice.
And this winter is going on too long Though it don't snow here, it stays pretty cold and I miss your warmth
I go to London with Keeley to take photos at a museum to help with positive PR for my social media to seem like I care? Keeley says everyone online thinks I'm cocky, so we need to fix that. Whatever honestly.
I see Y/N from a far walking with friends. We meet each other's eyes, she waves, and she walks away with friends. I miss her.
Keeley asks, "Who was that?" I answer, "My ex." She asks, "The ex who you seem still in love with?" I shrug and reply, "Can we just take these photos so I can get a pint?" She nods and leads me around London.
London is lonely, so lonely I'm lonely without you, mm
... TIME SKIP ... 1 YEAR LATER ...
Y/N's POV
You haven't talked to Jamie in over a year. You saw him a couple of months ago in a museum. He looked happy.
That's why the text from his Coach, Ted catches you off guard.
Howdy Y/N! It's Ted, Jamie's Coach! We met last season. I don't know if you care about Jamie anymore, but he's off. He needs someone to be there for him. I remember you would always brighten his day last season. So I am going to leave a ticket for you at will-call for the match tomorrow.
You text back that you can make it and Ted likes your message. He really is optimistic about everything. You've seen videos of him talking and he must be a good influence on Jamie.
So will you stay? 'Cause I'm oh-so sick of this place Feelin' way too big And nothing can hold me, can hold me like you do
I find my Jamie Tartt jersey and get it ready for the big match.
...
Getting my ticket at will-call is long. I wonder why I decided to do this and then I remember Jamie. It's all for him.
You find your seat in the family and friend's section. You meet some of the player's families. They're all super nice. It's nice to be around everyone again. A few remember you from last season and one lets slip that Jamie hasn't had anyone in his section since you... so did him & Keeley break up? And his family really never showed:(
The team runs out and you watch the team practice. Ted looks over and waves at you. You see Ted walk over to Jamie then point at the friends and family section. Jamie looks up and you make eye contact with him. Jamie smiles so widely that it makes you smile. He's so cute.
Near the end of the game, one of the moms mentions that friends and family are allowed back in the locker room after the game. So you walk with them after the WIN to the locker room.
Jamie spots you, runs over, and envelops you in the biggest hug. He exclaims, "I missed you Y/N. It's been too long." You reply, "I missed you too, Jamie."
Jamie pulls you along to see a new poster of him in the hallway and to meet some of the new players who are his friends. You even meet Keeley who is now dating Roy, they seem cute? Keeley mentions seeing you out in London and that she knew Jamie would find his way back to you.
You go out with the team to a pub for an after-match celebration with many of the family and friends. Ted thanks you for coming.
You find an empty booth and slide in. You need a moment away from everyone. You're used to quiet moments recently, and you need to sit down for a second. You sip on your pint and look out the window.
Jamie slides next to you and exclaims, "Y/N, thank you for being here. I haven't thanked you yet, so now I am." You half-smile and ask, "Why did Ted reach out? What's going on, Jamie? He seemed worried and said you needed support." He shrugs and answers, "Yeh know father stuff." You ask, "What did he do or didn't do?" He answers, "He showed up, berated me, and shook me up really bad... I won't invite him again." You put a hand gently on his shoulder and say, "Oh, I'm sorry, Jamie. That's horrible. I'm here for you now, should I hype you up a bit?" He chuckles softly and says, "No, I'm okay. Your positivity does make me feel good, though. I missed it and you." You reply, "I missed your positivity, too. London was quite lonely without you." He takes a deep breath and says, "I'm sorry for how we ended things. I had time to grow, and I do think I'm a better man than when we dated. I would like to take you out on a date, if you'd be interested or ... if you're still single." You smile and reply, "Of course I'd be interested, and I am single. I'm sorry, too. I should've tried communicating with you more about how I was feeling and tried to make more of an effort with matches. I'll try to be better in the future." He asks, "May I kiss ya? Or is it too soon?" You smile and say, "Go ahead. You can kiss me." He leans in and presses his lips gently against yours.
Harry Castillo x Fem!Reader: Charlotte & Peter Play Matchmaker
Y/N = Your Name
*I do not own the Materialist characters or plot*
Harryâs POV
I ask, âRepeat what you just said, please. I want to make sure you said that youâre setting me up even though I donât want to date anyone right now.â Peter sighs and says, âBrother, look, I know the breakup with Lucy hit you hard. But you need to find love. Charlotteâs friendââ I cut him off by saying, âLet me stop you right there. I donât wanna hear about Charlotteâs friends. Theyâve all thrown themselves at me since youâve been dating. They aren't worth my love or time.â Charlotte replies, âBut youâve never met this friend. She does some work with your familyâs financial firm, she is the Chief Marketing Officer at the company she works at, and sheâs humble. Sheâs really sweet and not at all like my other friends. I actually didnât tell her this was a set-up, so you can just pretend that we never said that, and she could just be a new friend.â Peter adds, âWhom we want you to date, though.â Their smiles are too optimistic about this girl. She sounds accomplished, though. Iâll be civil.
Charlotte and Peter think that because they found true love through matchmaking, they should be matchmakers. Great.
The door to the restaurant opens, and I see a stunning woman walk in. Her hair seems to shine with the sunset pouring through the window, just like her eyes as they light up seeing... Charlotte. SHIT! This is Charlotte's friend.
Charlotte leads her friend over and exclaims, "Harry, this is Y/N, whom I was telling you about. Y/N, this is Harry, Peter's brother." Y/N replies, "It's a pleasure to meet you, Harry. I've heard so much about you." I smile, shake her extended hand, and reply, "The pleasure is all mine, Y/N." Y/N slides next to me in the booth, and she exclaims, "Charlotte, you already ordered my favorite beverage! Ah, you know me so well." I take note of her favorite beverage. Just in case I'm interested.
We all talk together. And honestly, it's really nice. The whole night flows so naturally, like Y/N is meant to be here...with me. I can't get ahead of myself, though. She might not even be interested in me.
I exchange numbers with Y/N before she heads off. Charlotte asks, "So, what did you think of Y/N?" I answer, "I like her. You knew I would." Peter smiles and asks, "Why weren't you fully your charismatic self? You would've already planned a date together." I reply, "I really like her, which is why I was quieter. I wanted to listen to her and observe her with her best friend, not thinking of dates. I'll be honest, it felt like she was meant to be here, with us. It felt right." Charlotte smiles widely and says, "Oh, I'm so happy."
I don't make a move with Y/N. I do research on her online. I request to follow her on her private Instagram page, and she accepts my follow request. I go through her social media and see that she is very passionate about her work; she travels to conferences to speak about her experience as a female boss. She has photos of family, friends, and her hobbies. She seems great. Can she be any better? More perfect?
Next week, when I arrive at work, I open my schedule to see a request to join a meeting this afternoon from Peter. That's weird. He never mentioned this meeting before. There is a PDF attached with numbers that I'm supposed to analyze and come up with strategies for in just 4 hours. There are a lot of marketing expenses for this plan. I wonder why and what company this is. I have my assistant order me a double shot of espresso; I'll need it. I need to focus.
I walk into the conference room 5 minutes early and realize why Peter neglected to tell me anything. It's Y/N with some of her coworkers. I guess it's the company that she works for. The only open seat is next to Y/N, right. Peter planned this. I know it.
I set my bag down gently and sit in the seat next to Y/N. She turns to me, smiles, and exclaims, "Hi Harry, it's good to see you again." I feel my heart flutter. Can that happen? Because it did. I reply, "Good afternoon, Y/N. It's a pleasure to see you again, too. What have you been up to?" She answers, "Very busy, as I'm sure you could tell from the PDF. That was all my team." OH! I reply, "Peter neglected to tell me that, but I'm impressed. You are one fierce marketer." She smiles and asks, "Why wouldn't Peter tell you?" I glance over at Peter, who stands and announces, "Welcome, everyone. Let's go through introductions for our new folks."
After an hour of me pitching ideas with Peter hyping me up, my team helps Y/N's team. The marketing team came to us, at the request of the company's financial director, to talk through strategies involving risk and investments for their team. Each team will be coming to us throughout the week. I was chosen as the hedge fund manager to oversee these meetings. That means I will have more meetings than I had time to prepare for. Great. Curse you, Peter.
The meeting ends with everyone shaking hands, and my hand starts to get sweaty as I approach Y/N.
I hurry back to my office after everyone starts to pack up.
I want to ask Y/N out soon, but I don't think I should date clients. Lucy had no problem with that. F***! MY STUPID EX!
Plus, I have a lot of work to do. At least that is what I'm telling myself.
I hear a knock on my door and exclaim, "Come in!" The door opens to reveal Y/N. I quickly stand up and walk over to her. I ask, "Hey, is everything all right? Did I miss something?" She answers, "Oh, right, nothing is wrong... I just wanted to talk to you. I've been really busy since that dinner we had with Peter and Charlotte. But I liked your company... And I wanted to thank you for today. You were really great. I see why you're one of the best, Harry." MY NAME OUT OF HER MOUTH! HEAVEN! I reply, "Thank you, Y/N. Come in."
We sit side by side on the couch in my office, and Y/N asks, "Why didn't Peter tell you that this meeting was with the company I worked with? I tried asking, but he started giggling. He told me to ask you. I was wondering if something was wrong." I answer, "Nothing is wrong, don't worry." She half-smiles, and I continue, "Peter and Charlotte are trying to set you up with me. That dinner was because they wanted us to meet, so we could date. They are just playing matchmaker. I assume Peter didn't tell me about this meeting earlier because he knew how I felt about you." She asks quietly, "How do you feel about me?" I half-smile and reply, "I think you're perfect. I think we should date. You exude light and confidence. You are someone I can see myself growing old with, and you fit in so well with my family." She smiles and says, "I'm very flattered, Harry. And I think we should date, too." :-)

Image 1: Gerrimun Fender, vital instrument: fountain pen. Uses his vital instrument to create illusions only he can see through.
Image 2: Keyer Siblings Dunve and Spike. Their dad taught them baseball before being killed in a trash rain. They awoke to their potential when sifting through the ruins of their home and were able to retrieve their old baseball equipment. Their intruments are pretty simple: smash, and smash from farther away.
Image 3: Gess Alerby, vital instrument: needle and thread. They grew up sewing together old clothes and dolls for their younger siblings. The needle and thread allows them to stitch together disparate objects for just a few moments, creating impossible architectures used to scale heights.
Side note: I feel like Iâm getting better at using my alcohol markers. I want to try blending colors next!
Should I do a part 2?
Thank you to everyone who got me to 10000 likes!

Clark Kent x Fem!Reader: Power Duo
You are his boss;) And you also have powers! Your powers include teleportation, telekinesis, flight, and telepathy. Your superhero name is Psyche Cloud.
i loved this fic of Clark Kent btw - https://www.tumblr.com/sadesluvr/799771220413464576?source=share
*I do not own any Superman characters or plot *
THIS IS POST-SUPERMAN (2025 FILM) AKA Superman's friends at the Daily Planet know he is Superman! ;)
Y/N = Your Name
Y/N's POV
Every night is long when you're on duty as Psyche Cloud. You tried telling the "Justice Gang" that you had a more hands-on full-time job, so you'd need to work less... but they insisted that Superman could be too unreliable for missions. But like, he is Superman, how is he unreliable? He's not! You see him almost every time you're with the team. He always shows up! He was even there last night! Speaking of, he looks vaguely familiar, and you can't figure out why. That's another issue for another day because you're at work!
You see Perry as you walk up, and he says, "Morning, Miss Y/N! You look like you had a rough night." You answer, "Just a series of unfortunate events that a coffee should help fix... You look great, though!" He replies, "Thanks, dear! Enjoy your coffee. And if you need to, make one of the journalists go fetch it. They need to be out in the field more." You laugh and keep walking to your office. People dart out of your way and look away.
Five years, and theyâre still scared of you. Your reputation precedes you. Youâve done everything right. Youâve taken care of your people. Youâve given raises. Youâve earned their respect. But today, youâre exhausted â because respect without warmth feels lonely, and you want more.
You make yourself a latte on your personal espresso machine, then get to meetings. You're in control all morning and push for the success of your team at the Daily Planet.
You go out for lunch nearby at this taco bar and scarf down three tacos... and what about it?!
When you get back to work, you feel the post-lunch slump hitting, and you make yourself another latte.
You walk over to the journalists and ask Lois to stop in when she has a free minute to chat.
When Lois steps into your office, she looks exactly like you expected in this moment: sharp eyes, unshakeable confidence, notebook already half out like she might need it at any moment.
You ask, "Would you care for a coffee while you're here? I can do anything with espresso, I have almond milk, and hazelnut syrup." Lois smiles widely and asks, "OMG, am I the first journalist to get a cup of coffee from this machine?" You answer, "Yeah, why?" She asks, "What did I do to deserve this honor? And yes, a cappuccino sounds great." You nod and make her a coffee.
You set down the coffee in front of Lois, and she sips it slowly, before saying, âThis is good. Strong, but not bitter.â You laugh quietly, âStory of my life at the Daily Planet.â She lightly smiles, and you ask, "Could I have a Superman update?" She nods and says excitedly, "Last week he stopped a bank robbery, redirected a crashing helicopter, and apologized to a hot dog vendor for knocking over his cart.â You ask, âHe apologized?â She replies, âVery earnestly. Offered to buy lunch. Left the vendor speechless.â You hum, amused. âThat tracks... and what about his female counterpart or whatever the media calls her? Psyche Cloud?" She nods and answers, "She seems to be used as the Justice Gang's crutch, like they call her in a pinch because they know she'll answer and help them out. I gotta say, they can probably handle a lot without her, but with her, they're a more terrifying, daunting group. So I think they're also using her for image." You ask, "Oh, that's a new take, and has she helped the community recently?" She answers, "Yes, she donated to local businesses and has supported them. It's really cool how she protects the people and empowers them." You reply, "Great. I guess that's all for today. You seem to have it covered. Enjoy your coffee, Lois." She replies, "Yeah, thanks, I can't wait to show off to the team!"
Clark's POV
Y/N called Lois in the office, and Jimmy has been trying to read their lips since they sat down. Lucky for me, I can hear the whole conversation, so I correct him when he is wrong. Which he is! He laughs each time I tell him what was actually said. HAHA! I wonder why Y/N called Lois in when I'm the one who covers Superman in the newspaper, on the front page! I know she knows, but why not me?
Jimmy taps my shoulder and asks, "You spaced out, dude. What did they just say? Was I right?" I answer, "Sorry, Jimmy, I wasn't listening in. I lost focus." He laughs and asks, "Why? Did you get lost in Y/N's eyes again? Come on, man, she's your boss!" I roll my eyes. I should have never told him that I have a crush on Y/N. That was a mistake.
Lois comes bouncing out holding a coffee cup, smiling. She exclaims, "I present to you the very first cup of coffee given to a reporter AKA ME, from Y/N's personal machine." Lois bows, and Jimmy claps. I laugh, and Jimmy says, "He listened in, so we could find out what that talk was about." Lois rolls her eyes and replies, "You two didn't need to listen in. I could've told you. By the way, I'm thinking of inviting her to dinner with us. She seems lonely." Jimmy replies, "Clark will combust with nervous crush energy." I reply, "I'm right here, man, geez."
& Back to Y/N's POV...
Around 5 PM, Lois stops in your office and asks, "Hey, boss! Just wondering, the boys and I are going to grab pizza. We were wondering... well, actually it was all me! I was wondering if you wanted to join us." You answer, "Thanks, I'd love to!" You pack up and walk out with her, where Jimmy, Eve, and Clark are waiting. Looking at Clark, you get the same feeling that you did with Superman. You know him from somewhere.
As you eat pizza, conversation flows easily, and you feel like you're really bonding more with the team.
After dinner, you all start walking back to the subway station near the office. Clark slows down to walk with you and asks, "Is everything okay, boss? You glanced at me tonight and looked a little confused." You answer, "Your face is just very familiar to me. I'm trying to think of who you remind me of... The only time I can think that I had this feeling was with Superman." He replies, "I feel the same about you and Psyche Cloud if it helps. I don't know where I know you from." HA! If only he knew! You reply, "Both powerful, helpful beings." He nods and smiles. He then asks, "So, just wondering, why didn't you call me to talk about Superman today? Lois said you spoke briefly about him, and I have interviewed him..." You reply, "Right, I don't have an answer for that. I just know that Lois knows a lot. I should've talked to you, I guess. Do you think the hot dog stand owner that Superman apologized to was the one by our office? Lois didn't mention the location." He coughs and answers, "Yeah, it was. It's a nice little stand, if you haven't been before." You reply, "Maybe... or maybe I just want to see Superman." He smiles and chuckles.
You part ways with the Daily Planet team and try to have a relaxing night.
Until the Justice Gang calls you to help. You remember Lois saying how you seem to be their crutch, but you don't really care. You would rather help people every time you're needed than have more people potentially get hurt. You do want to set boundaries with them because, yeah, you don't want to be taken for granted.
During your mission that night, you see Superman, and you ask, "Quick question, Superman, is that your real face?" He tilts his head and asks, "Is that your real face, Psyche Cloud?" You smile and turn back to the mission at hand. Why would he have really honestly answered you? He's supposed to protect his identity.
You nearly trip as you finish locking the bad guy into the cop car.
You wave the Justice Gang away, forcing a smile, pretending youâre fine.
You donât stop moving until you reach a park bench nearby. You sit and only then do you look down, heart sinking, at the blood soaking your chest. SH**!!!
You remove your disguise and hear, "Holy cow, you're Psyche Cloud!" You see Superman's surprise, and you reply, "Yeah, and?" He answers, "This is big! Holy... oh, you are bleeding out! Should I bring you to a hospital?" You shake your head and reply, "It's Friday, so my medic isn't working. I can't go to a hospital. All the electricity messes with me and will make me hurt more than now. I'm bleeding out and out of ideas." You didn't realize how bad that sounded until you said it out loud. He asks, "So... should I bring you to my doctor? It's a bit of a flight, but you look light, and I can get us there quickly." You nod and answer, "Fine. This once. You can help." He smiles, wraps you in a coat, and holds you tight to his chest. You fly across land and sea until it's frigid outside. You notice ice everywhere, and then when you think he brought you out here to die, you see an opening to a new place. It opens to reveal some sort of lair or hideaway? It must be his?
Superman sets you on an operating table and calls over some robot named Four. Four gives you meds to fall asleep, and then you're out.
You wake up in a different room, with a dog next to you, and you see Clark Kent sleeping in the chair across the room. WTF?!
You call out with a hoarse voice, "Hey, Clark!" God, you sound bad. Clark jumps up, sees you awake, sits on the edge of the bed, and says, "Hey, uh, Y/N! It's a bit of a long story." You reply, "Please tell me." He hands you a glass of water and says, "Drink, you'll need it. And, okay, so you're Psyche Cloud but also Y/N... and I'm Superman but also Clark Kent!" You smile and reply, "Great, I guessed that. How did I get here? And where are we?" He answers, "OH, right! So, Four fixed you up in the lab, and I wanted you to rest somewhere calm. So I left my hideaway and then flew us here. You were glowing when I first picked you up, which worried me. But I kept telling you that everything would be okay, and you seemed to look normal again. I flew us to my parents' home. The dog is Krypto, he's mine!"
You lie back on the bed and hear the door creak open, where a smiling lady, who must be Clark's mom, is standing. She exclaims, "Morning, sleepyheads. Pa & I made breakfast for you two. Oh, you look so darling in the morning, dear. This is the first time little Clark has brought a girl here. It's so great that you have powers and work with him, too. I want to know the story of how you two met. Oh, would you care for coffee or juice this morning?" You answer, "Coffee, please. I'm Y/N, what's your name?" She answers, "Oh, how rude of me! I'm Martha Kent, but you can call me Ma!" What did you get yourself into?! Why let Superman help you!? Clark says, "Thanks, Ma. We'll be right there." Martha smiles and closes the door.
You turn to face Clark and ask, "What do your parents know and think?" He answers, âThey know youâre my boss. Sorry that I told them. I know that's weird and could violate HR. I didn't tell anyone at work, though... They know that youâre someone I admire. Professionally. Heroically... God, that sounded less weird in my head. But youâre also⊠you. Y/N. Psyche Cloud. I care about you. More than I probably should. And I know this complicates things with work. And um... I can never lie to my parents, so I told them everything. They assumed we were dating, though. But I wouldn't mind if you wouldn't mind... or um... we could just forget this happened." You reply, âClark, thank you for being honest with me.â His shoulders drop a little, and so do his eyes. You hate to see him look so upset. You say, âI wonât pretend this is going to be easy. Youâre right, there are complications. But... I'm not mad that you lied to your parents. You told them your truth. And I want to tell you mine." He looks up from the floor into your eyes with hope. You continue, âI admire you too. Not just as a reporter. As a person. The way you care, the way you always show up even when no oneâs watching. I had this gut feeling that you were Superman because you're just you. It had to be you! You're one of the kindest souls that I work with, and you always have hot dogs." He lets out a chuckle, and you continue, "I would love to go on that date with you." He smiles widely and pulls you into a tight hug.
You have breakfast with Clark, Martha, and Jonathon. Jonathon Kent is quiet, but has been cracking you up with his deadpan one-liners this morning. Martha is very open and very loving, with plenty of questions about your life.
Clark got a call from Perry this morning asking where he was and if he had heard from you. He lied that he was with his girlfriend at the hospital, and he saw you there next door. He said that you would both return the next day.
You had to admit the whole lie that Clark concocted was suspicious, but it would work. You could make Perry believe whatever you wanted when you got home within range of his mind. Haha, perks of your powers!
Clark flies you both back to your apartment, where he kisses you longingly before flying out your window. He's kind of perfect.
NEXT DAY... Clark's POV
Y/N and I rode the metro to work together. I couldn't stop looking over at her. She is perfect.
We walked into work together. Lois and Jimmy kept gawking at me.
I take my coffee mug and walk to Y/N's office. I knock then ask, "Hey, how does one get a coffee from the boss? Lois said you made her one, so I just want to see if it's any good." Y/N smiles at me, then says, "Get in and shut the door." I oblige and then put my mug on the coffee machine. She leans over and kisses me.
Y/N makes me a coffee, and I try my best to look like I didn't just kiss my boss as I walk back to my desk.
After I open my laptop, I hear, "Well, well, well, what did you do to get that coffee?" I see Lois and Jimmy leaning over my shoulders. I turn to face them before saying, "A little honesty goes a long way." Lois replies, "Please tell me you didn't do what I think you did." I reply, "Confess? I did." Jimmy asks, âYou CONFESSED confessed?? Like feelings? Capital-F feelings??â I smile and reply, âKeep it down. And, please donât make this a thing.â Lois says, âFor what itâs worth⊠You did it. I'm proud of you." I reply, âI was terrified." Lois replies, "That means it mattered." Jimmy asks, "So, how do I get a coffee? Do I need a personal interview with someone like Psyche Cloud?" I laugh and answer, "You aren't talking to her. I could, though. Good idea. I'll tell Y/N later." Jimmy replies, "Hey, no fair! ... At least convince Psyche Cloud to let me take a photo of her." I reply, "Oh, I'll try. But she got injured last weekend, so she might be a little inactive right now." Lois asks, "Wait, is Psyche Cloud your girlfriend in the hospital?" I shrug. Jimmy asks, "That would make her our boss?!" Lois replies, "Wait, f**k this is crazy. I want to talk to her. I need to know this now."
Lois starts storming to Y/N's office with Jimmy following close behind. I close my laptop and chase after them.
I reach the door and close it behind us three. Y/N stares at us, confused. Y/N asks, "What's up?" I shrug, and Y/N asks, "Oh, sh** was Clark honest today to you two?" She knows me so well. I answer, "Maybe, I'm sorry, babe." Y/N replies, "It's okay, love. You're too honest. Now what do you two want to know?" You all chat about your powers and life / what happened that weekend until Perry walks in, asking what's going on. Y/N tells him to take a seat and tells him. I'm shocked to say that he's not that surprised! He seems relieved and fine. If anything, he is underreacting to the news.
I leave work hand in hand with Y/N. We go to my place where I cook dinner, and we eat together on my couch. Krypto followed us here and is cuddling Y/N right now. It makes me feel right at home.
