đ they got dem serious faces on
( johnny. )
âWhatâs that?â Johnny nodded across a table in the Great Hall to an object in someoneâs hand. His held tilted sideways as his brows furrowed, âsome muggle thing or am I really that much in need of sleep?â
âItâs a necklace in the shape of a pair of boxing gloves â apparently my dad got gifted it and he doesnât like it,â Caleb explained, shrugging his shoulders and slipping the necklace into his pocket, looking at the Gryffindor, âYou really do look like you need some sleep though â whatâs keeping you up?â
( louis. )
âThere is literally no point in trying to engage in conversation with me until I have had at least three cups of coffee, but for you Iâll try and keep up.â
âUsually Iâd say the same thing, but for some reason I feel unusually perky today,â Caleb admitted, sliding over the cup of coffee that heâd brought for himself, toward the Weasley.
( niamh. )
niamh had never delt well with restless sleep, she was the type that as soon as she had been woken up, it was practically IMPOSSIBLE to get back to sleep. it didnât help that whenever she was stressed out she seemed to fall into a pattern of nightmares, ones that usually consisted of teddy and how sheâs found him, ones that would usually result in her waking up in a sweat. after lying for what felt like h o u r s, the redhead had finally given up on any hope on getting back to sleep, part of her quietly afraid the boyâs dead boy would taunt her dreams once more and she had braved the threat of a detention to wander the grounds well after curfew, settling by a window where she could see the stars. niamh remained relatively quiet until she heard footsteps behind her, assuming it would be a prefect or a teacher, not bothering to turn around. âi know iâm out past curfew and i know weâre not supposed to be. iâll just take the detention. i couldnât sleep and a detention beats lying there restlessly for hours on end. if i had to stare at the roof for any longer i wouldâve killed something.â
It hadnât occurred in a while, but it wasnât the first time that Caleb woke up in the middle of the night and got out of bed. Lately he hadnât done it because he didnât want to get in trouble for something so dumb, but tonight, he just couldnât stay in bed. So, he started wandering around the corridors, hands stuffed in the pockets of his pajama pants. His eyebrows furrowed as his gaze landed on a familiar head of red hair and he tilted his head as he heard her words, chuckling âIn what world would I give you detention? And isnât killing a bit extreme? Sounds like you need to let off some steam,â Caleb asked the girl, smiling and going next to her, crouching down and placing his hand on her back, gently rubbing it, âYou okay?â

+ @cxlebrhodesâ
Perhaps she shouldâve been more excited about this whole event, or at least trying to enjoy herself rather than plastering on an empty smile whenever her fathers looked in her direction. It was supposed to be a celebration after all, though she didnât really feel much like celebrating and a lot more like sulking alone. She had hung by her parents side for most of the evening. Itâd be easier keeping up her usual cherry demeanor with them rather than anybody else and since she felt like being alone, this was the next best thing. The redhead had chatted to Jackson, Sophia and even Paige so far, but she didnât feel like talking to anybody else, and for once she didnât want to go to the party afterwards. However, when blue hues landed on Caleb her thoughts changed, feeling a sudden urge to make her way over to the boy, excusing herself from whatever conversation she hadnât been paying attention to before crossing the room to meet him.
âHey.â She said quietly, a soft smile resting on her lips as she poked the boy in the arm, âYou clean up nice.â She was glad he had confronted her on the train and they could go back to being themselves rather than Niamh avoiding him like some sort of contagious disease. Whatever⊠this was between them. She didnât really know, nor did she feel compelled to ask ( that obviously wasnât her strong suit ). But she was glad to see him, the boy always managed to make her feel better. âDid you want to dance?â This WAS a ball after all, and besides, friends danced.
When he was back home, Caleb was properly cornered by his mother to be in attendance for this celebration. If his parents handât been there, he probably wouldâve stayed in the dormitory, because formal celebrations werenât really something he enjoyed. After he was forced to say that he was going, his mother pushed robes into his hands but he wasnât going to go that far. Sure, he wore the robes, but he left out the bow-tie and the waistcoat and refused to button up the robes. He was obviously told off for it by his mother the moment she saw him, but in the end she was just glad that he was there. Surprisingly, a lot of people recognized his father; who knew wizards were into muggle sports? With a drink in hand, he looked around at everyone and spotted his favourite Gryffindor, standing with her parents. A smile crossed his face; she looked absolutely gorgeous, as she always did. He glanced behind him and saw that his parents were busy speaking with someone, so he set his drink down on the nearest table and took the opportunity to escape and meet the redhead halfway.
âHi,â Caleb grinned at her little poke, resting his hand on her waist respectfully as he pressed a kiss to her cheek, âand you look absolutely stunning,â he told her sweetly, pulling away and stuffing his hands into the pockets of his pants, âmum wouldâve had my head on a pike if I hadnât turned up in the robes, even if they have a few altercations,â he chuckled. Dancing wasnât his strong suit, truly, but he couldnât turn her down. âSure, sounds like fun,â he spoke, taking her hand in his and walking with her onto the dance floor, twirling her around and grinning before resting his hands on her waist, swaying slightly, âyouâre being awfully quiet, is it cause your parents are here?â
( niamh. )
Honestly, Easter break couldnât have come at a better time for the redhead. It had been in the week leading up to it that the girl had been practically ITCHING to escape the school grounds. She loved the school to death and it would always hold very fond memories from her. But on the downside it tended to be slightly⊠claustrophobic at times. Everybody was there and though the school was far from school, sometimes it felt like it was TINY. Especially when you had been doing your best to avoid somebody, they seemed to crop up everywhere. Especially when that somebody was Caleb. The boy and his stupid handsome face seemed to suddenly be everywhere that she had wanted to be and after their kiss, the redhead hadnât known how to react. Part of her had wished she hadnât walked away and wanted to see where they wouldâve ended up, but the other part of her was glad she had. Niamh had an unfortunate habit of leaving a trail of destruction behind her âin-the-momentâ actions and unfortunately, many of her actions did tend to me âin-the-moment,â her kiss with Caleb not being an exception to that. She didnât know how to feel about it, nor where it left them standing and thought talking to the boy would probably result in both of those questions being answered, it would require talking about FEELINGS. Something that the Gryffindor was notorious for being unable to do. She had enough difficulty ended whatever you wouldâve called her and Johnnyâs âarrangement,â and then she had to screw up another perfectly good friendship by planting her lips on them. Though in her defensive, both of them had kissed her first â not that it even really meant much anyway. But still, their kiss had been something that had plagued her mind over most of their break, the gloves he had given her almost TAUNTING as they had hung up, not only making her feel like a giant asshole for avoiding him after he had given her such an amazing gift, but also serving as a reminder as the whole uncertainty about everything. Seamus and Dean had even had queries about them â since when had their daughter taken up boxing? Another question the girl could add to the list of ones she didnât want to give an answer to. However, the girl knew she couldnât avoid him forever and eventually they would collide paths once again, though she was just hoping that wasnât in the foreseeable future.
But of course, in lifeâs usual fashion when it came to dealing with matters of her heart, it didnât allow her much avoidance time, her excuses of quidditch scrimmage practices and assignments due having to come to an end. The boy still lingering on her mind as she bored the train back, doing her best to push the issue to the back of her mind and not infamously over-analyse it like she had already done for the past week. She knew that they would have to speak when they got back on the ground at some point, but she hadnât expected it to be so soon, eyes looking up expecting to meet Sophia, Mimi or Dominique as the carriage door slid open, instead meeting Caleb. âWell hello to you too. My break WAS very nice, thank you for asking.â She responded, swallowing slightly at the boyâs blunt-ness about the whole matter, though voice not lacking itâs usual sarcastic tone. She bit down on her tongue for a moment, knowing the fickle excuse of âbeing busyâ wasnât really going to cut it, but sheâd attempt it anyway. âNothingâs gotten into me. Iâve just been super busy you know, lots of last minute assignments, Isabella made us attend loads of those scrimmage practicesâŠâ She bit down on her tongue, barely able to convince herself.
To be completely honest, Caleb was never hung up on anyone â usually it would be the other party that would be hung up on him, so to say that he was feeling strange was a complete understatement and it was safe to say that he didnât like it. Maybe closure would be the solution, but then again, he didnât want that. He wanted to resume with their usual meet ups and spend time with her, no matter what theyâre doing. Easter break was supposed to have given him a chance to think about things and determine what he really wanted but in reality, thinking about it just made things worse. He grew frustrated with his sisterâs taunts and he even fought with her because he crossed the line and called her a muggle. All in all, the holidays became disastrous as they neared their end and it was all because he decided that kissing the redhead was a good idea â at the time it was and he didnât necessarily regret his actions either because it was incredible. The two fit together perfectly, not just their personalities but even their bodies â hers drove him wild and he knew she did certain things on purpose, just like he showed off by training without a shirt, or changing right in front of her.Â
Heâd grown tired of the excuses she always made up to avoid him, but he granted her space because he didnât want to be pushy with her, because whenever was he pushy? But Caleb wanted answers and nothing would get in the way of him getting them. âIâm glad you had such a wonderful break; I wish I could stay the same but instead I was constantly questioned about you, so while you were intentionally filling up your time to get away from me, I couldnât bloody stop thinking about you.â He hadnât planned to say all this, heâd planned to stay calm and collected and nonchalantly ask her about whatâd happened. It was a good thing that along with the sealing charm heâd put on the door, heâd cast a silencing spell â no one would nose into their business. âOh, cut the bullshit Niamh; you always do assignments with me and those practices didnât last as long as you made them out to be. Somethingâs up and youâre not telling me.â
Caleb hadnât seen Molly in a while â partly because heâd been so caught up with Niamh and his work and well now because of Easter break. Theyâd contacted one another and planned to meet in the Room of Requirement the moment that theyâd return to school â so there he was, already warming up with one of the punching bags since he wanted to start up the minute she got there. He hadnât been there since the last time he and Niamh trained, so it felt weird not having her with him but he tried his best to keep her off his mind because he wanted to concentrate. Caleb stopped punching and rested either of his hands on the bag, panting and closing his eyes briefly, directing his gaze to the entryway and smiling as he saw the girl walk in, âLong time no see Molls.â
@mollyirisweasley
To say that this Easter break had been interesting was an understatement. For one, his whole family was over, that included his aunts, uncles, cousins and grandparents â sure they lived in a mansion, but with everyone there, it felt completely cramped but he wasnât really complaining. He loved it when he got to spend time with everyone. What he didnât love was the constant hankering about when he was going to get a girlfriend. His maternal grandmother always kicked it off and then everyone followed suit â this time his mother revealed that heâd asked for personalized gloves with a girlâs name on them. Cue an abundance of questions from everyone; whatâs her name (which his mother promptly answered for him), what house sheâs in (half of his family were wizards and witches, and his fatherâs side was completely fine with it), howâd they met, had he taken her out on a date, so on and so forth. It was a nightmare honestly and he evaded the questions, not wanting to burst out and ruin the holidays for everyone. Caleb hadnât stopped thinking about her â had he taken his teasing too far? Was that the reason why sheâd been ignoring him for so long? Heâd planned on writing a letter, but didnât go through with it because he didnât want to seem pushy and annoying. If she didnât want to speak to him, that was fine.
His plan of avoidance was working out, until he passed by a carriage on the train and spotted her flaming red hair. Sure, there were an abundance of redheads in the school, but heâd recognized her anywhere. Caleb was fully prepared to keep walking, but it was like his legs had a mind of their own as he walked back to the carriage she was in, opened the door unceremoniously and shut it behind him, producing his wand and sealing the door with a quick charm. He calmly turned on his heel and crossed his arms over his chest, âI know youâve been avoiding me, donât deny it. Iâm not dumb,â he started, pursing his lips and sitting in the seat across from Niamh, âAll I want to know is why? Iâve said and done worse things in the past, but that never kept you from coming back to our sessions. So what the fuck has gotten into you?â
@ftniamh
( mimi )
Mimi was ready to throw all sorts of rude comments at the person, but when he turned around and the Slytherin recognized him as Caleb, her fierce stare turned slightly softer. The manâs words were enough to make her let go of her irritation, and she let her hand drop from his shoulder as she rolled her eyes, a small smirk tugging at the corners of her mouth. âThank you.â Mimi took a step forward so that she was standing next to him, brown eyes glancing up at the man. âWhat on earth are you doing just wandering around?â She asked curiously, a dark brow arched upwards. âShouldnât you be doing something more productive than pissing me off by walking slower than a fucking snail?â
Caleb smirked, crossing his arms over his chest and shrugging his shoulders slightly, muttering a âno problemâ before leaning back against the wall. A small sigh slipped past the Ravenclawâs lips as he looked over at Mimi, âI was supposed to have a training session with Niamh, but she didnât show up and I didnât feel like training alone,â he explained. It was after heâd said the redheadâs name that he remembered that the aforementioned girl and the girl in front of him were best friends and that it would sound sort of suspicious. He cleared his throat and slipped his hands into his pockets, âYou know I box and I offered to teach her, thatâs all.â His attempt to cover up had only made the matter sound even more suspicious. Caleb didnât know where they stood, especially after sheâd been ignoring him for all this time and he certainly didnât know if she told anyone about their frequent meetings.Â

One word to describe these people: James Potter, Hugo Weasley, Caleb Rhodes, Mimi Whitten and Thomas Ness.
âOooh, I do love myself a good game and a challenge. Some of you are so exceedingly BLAND that one word wonât cut it.
James Potter: Messy. Especially as of late. Heâs usually one of my favourites but you really need to sort yourself out Potter, there is this thing called moving on, perhaps you should try it sometime.
Hugo Weasley: Irrelevant. Sorry sweetie, but if it stings then youâll know itâs the truth.
Caleb Rhodes: Hot. Hot, hot, hot, hot. It is technically one word, just repeated several times for effect.Â
Mimi Whitten: Remarkable. You all know she IS my favourite. And for a reason too.
Thomas Ness: Mundane. I think Iâm running out of synonyms for âboringâ with this one.â

âbut unfortunately, less people see me after hours which means that they miss out on it.â she replied with an easy smile.
For a few seconds, he kept his eyes trained on the girl, trying to think of a smart reply, but when he realised that he couldnât, Caleb smiled and nodded, âTouchĂ© but then again, Iâd make it my mission to catch everyoneâs attention.â
( @cxlebrhodes )
Mimi brushed her fingers through her wet hair before throwing the used towel into her bag and stepping out of the Prefectâs bathroom. It had been a long and exhausting day, but now she was feeling more relaxedâ it was rare that a person had the bathroom all for themselves, and now that Mimi had been lucky enough, she wasnât bothered by most things that would usually irritate her. Not even the person walking terribly slowly in front of her while the corridor was blocked by people walking towards them. Or at least thatâs what she thought, until she got  t i r e d of waiting and let out a frustrated groan, placing her hand on the personâs shoulder in an attempt to spin them around. âIs it possible for you to walk any slower?â
Being a smart ass often times went against Caleb and apparently heâd underestimated Niamhâs seriousness when sheâd walked away from their last encounter. Heâd thought that it would be like their usual banter, where theyâd meet again for their usual training session but after waiting for her for twenty minutes in front of the Room of Requirement, he realised that it wouldnât even be close to it. Not wanting to carry out the session on his own, he ended up pacing around the school corridors idly, alone â that was until he felt a hand on his shoulder. He spun around, his eyebrow already raised and a smirk on his face as he saw the brunette, âMy apologies, your highness,â he teased, stepping aside and motioning for her to walk ahead of him. He refused to let a girl plague his thoughts, because itâd never happened before and it wasnât something he wanted.
thcwhite:
âI have to leave, Iâm ââ Iâm not safe here anymore.â
âWoah bud, why arenât you safe?â
