a reimagining of based on the initial storyline and lore of charmed, though changes, subtracts, adds and complicates it with respect to real-world mythology and lore. the sisters come from a long line of witches who worship the powers of the ancient mother goddess, whose family originated from england though eventually traveled to the americas during the colonial period where they lived through and endured the witch trials which took the life of their most honored matriarch: melinda warren. though both prue and phoebe moved away from their family home early into adulthood, piper remained behind to care for their ailing grandmother up until her death, which brought the remaining two sisters back home and leads to their discovery of their family heritage, kept from them at the behest of their deceased mother.
note: to be quite honest i don’t expect this to be received positively but i’m a sucker for accurate mythology and found it disconcerting that the show strayed from its mythological roots after season one. i also took this as a chance to redo some of the aspects i felt were oddly executed or didn’t fit particularly well into the universe.
