A private hideaway for me to indulge in the things I love, that's all. (Currently that's horror, anime, TWST and danmei more than anything.) | punk-goth | 30s | they/she/xey | auDHD | writer
Sorry you said that you hate the character or huge narrative beat that is integral to the overall story. I think maybe you could just stop engaging in it if you are so mad as to tell someone that is clearly enjoying it that it is awful. Maybe your desires to look down or upset someone for not having the same disdain as you is a huge sign you need to step away from the media. Yeah. That’s not healthy bud.
Here is my personal contribution to @set-the-zine 's fanzine, Stained: an Overblot Fanzine. I really hope you enjoy and check out the zine!!
This particular piece actually came in a burst of inspiration. I had originally contemplated for a while creating a piece showcasing more of the angst and anguish that we often see during the Overblot sequences. However, when I was brainstorming and thumbnailing ideas, I suddenly had the idea to depict that burst of hope that Idia and Ortho feel when they decide "fuck it, we ball".
There is a grief here buried in the hope. The reunion between Idia and the real form of his brother, while is full of hope, is full of a tangible pain. The loneliness that comes from revisiting that trauma. The shame. The guilt. And all of it sits there, held in Phantom Ortho's hands.

Racism in fandom spaces is actually insanely bad and if you ever try to downplay or avoid conversations about it because "fandom is supposed to be fun" then I'm not sorry to say this: You're adding on to the problem.
If POC speaking up about a fandom's racism issue offends you more than the racism itself, you need to think about that. You need to think about how POC fighting racism offends you more than the racism.
Apathy is the death of humanity, the sibling of hatred, and the child of PRIVILEGE. It must be so nice seeing discourse about racism as an inconvenience ruining your fun. Imagine having to actually LIVE within a racist system, and see evidence perpetuating that system everywhere you go, even in fandom spaces. Imagine how inconvenienced us racial minorities are--trying to speak up about oppression & discrimination & exploitation within media projecting subliminal or explicit messages that shape and mold the minds of audiences by triggering emotional responses based on LIVED experiences & dynamics--as you and all of your supporters gaslight everyone into thinking it's no big deal, it's not that deep, it's not about race, we're just sucking the fun out of the fandom. Imagine how much fun we're having being told our feelings & struggles & lives don't matter! Gosh, ignorance sure is bliss!
Hey. If people aren't aware, Microsoft admitted they know who you and where you are at all times and will give your info to the police.
They have a Global Device Identifier (GDID) Tracker that functions as a fingerprint for your PC that can surpass VPNs, proxy servers and countries. Although it can't survive a clean reinstall of Windows (it can survive updates), because Microsoft forces you to go to the internet and log in into a Microsoft account, they will be able to get to you.
Microsoft kept it secret and it was only found out when the FBI tracked a hacker thanks to the information Microsoft gave them.
You should be paying attention to this, and possibly consider moving away from Windows. If a government, especially the US government, doesn't like you for some reason, this could be seriously concerning.
This article specifically notes:
For journalism, activism, or domestic abuse situations, skip Windows and use Linux routed through Tor instead of a commercial VPN. A GDID doesn’t care which VPN you use, only that it’s still the same Windows installation.
GDID is the persistent Windows ID that helped FBI trace a Scattered Spider hacker despite VPNs. Here's how it works and how to limit it.
Other important quotes:
What has researchers uneasy is everything else the case reveals. Costin Raiu, a well-known malware researcher, asked on the Three Buddy Problem podcast how much of this exists on other platforms, and whether it is linked more permanently to hardware. Matthew Hickey, another security researcher, called Windows “surveillance software”.
Two things back that up:
There’s no consent screen. A GDID gets assigned when you sign into a Microsoft Account. Apple’s advertising identifier needs an App Tracking Transparency prompt and a visible reset; Android’s works the same way. GDID has neither, and a Windows reinstall only gets you a new number Microsoft can still get back to the same account.
Then there’s activation. Massgrave, the group behind Microsoft Activation Scripts, notes that Windows setup sends hardware info to Microsoft and gets identifiers back, the same tokens later used for Store access and licensing: “It’s impossible to prevent Windows from getting a GDID without breaking activation and UWP app[s].” Anyone who lost a license after swapping a motherboard has already met a smaller version of this.
Here's the complaint filed to the court, the primary source for the case mentioned in the article. You can find mentions of GDID on page 30 of the document or 34 of the PDF.
i never really got it when people made posts about light pollution and seeing all the stars for the first time and crying. i always assumed that everyone has gone on a road trip to a bortle 1.0 place and seen stars like that, and it's fantastic, but not like life changing. and then i went to europe last month and was in a mountaintop village of like 300 people and could see about 5 stars in the sky. like fewer than i can see from my home in a big metropolitan city.
my apologies to the non-africans, i did not realise how fucked your sky is
the thing that makes me mad about light pollution is that so much of it could be fixed by downward-facing light fixtures and doing that would also massively reduce energy usage bc all that light cast upward is wasted energy
