Are we sure durge and fang got doxxed?
I am not debating on whether someone was doxxed or not.
Regardless of what people believe either way, we all need to remember that doxxing is always wrong—that it should never be the answer to anything.
Period.
I think we’ve made our stance pretty clear on that front and what we think about doxxing as a whole.
And even without the situation that was occurring previously—that is never the right thing to do, EVER.
I beg your FINEST pardon but these comments on this post are actually so wild. To assume a certain party is guilty of something as severe as doxxing without any proof when said party has done nothing but bring to light all the bullying and call out posts made is such a reach. I hope this doxxing situation is being handled appropriately so that this serious matter can be dealt with. I also hope whoever sent the anon knows that they’re causing more harm for both parties and that doxxing is never the answer!
Doxxing is a serious crime and to insinuate anyone doing so without proof is also very dangerous. This is something to be handled by authorities, no ifs, ands, or buts.
I hope the person in question is caught because that is NOT okay.
And to put my personal disclaimer: No I have not nor will I ever condone doxxing. That's a fucked up thing to do to someone!! To whomever that did this, thanks asshole, you made my and other's lives that much harder in trying to peacefully defend against false callouts.
I was especially not thrilled with the comment/reblog regarding "being armed" and "having a weapon". Really not a fan of the implications of that.
the traveler's not playin' around
I wonder how long it’ll take this time for them to announce that they’re bored of this attempt at accusing someone of AI and “have moved on.”
Seems like they only lose interest when they don’t get the reaction they were hoping for.
It’s almost like… this was never really about AI at all and is just an excuse to be mean to someone?
hi! can I ask - have the people who have made these callout posts given proof of what makes them the absolute authority on AI? id also be quite interested in seeing proof of emails, letters sent, protests attended and petitions created or signed etc within at least the last year against the companies who create/fund it.
Or does their big, brave and oh so noble "fight" against AI begin and end with fanfic writers?
and dont they pay premium for the ai detectors they stuff their friends fics through? hmmm i wonder whose pockets theyre lining 🤔 (*whispers* its the corporations that create ai models. im sure their money is being put to really good use though!)
also. the whole "this ai detector is a million times more accurate than all the rest so pay for ours instead!!" know what that is? ✨marketing✨ know what marketing is? ✨mostly lies✨
ai detectors are a scam and people are falling for it.
Funny how that works.
(I agree with literally everything you just said.)
I don’t think accusing writers of using AI and then demanding proof that their work *isn’t* AI is actually keeping AI out of creative spaces. Instead, it’s scaring writers into not posting, making them remove their work, and discouraging new writers from joining the community altogether. I also don’t think accusing writers of using AI is actually raising awareness about the negative effects of AI on creative spaces. Instead, it’s alienating writers—turning the very people who *contribute* to these spaces into scapegoats, as if they’re part of the problem rather than the ones being harmed by it.
Just me?
I fear I might now be going down a new rabbit hole. The Outsider parallels with Solas.
Help me.
Looks like I'm going to be playing Dishonored - Death of the Outsider again after I'm done Inquisition and Veilguard.
I may have a type...
This watcher coat looks so warm and comfy!!
i think the argument about posting AI fanfiction is so funny. things that are AI written are definitely soulless and easy to clock, really obviously bad and often using stupid metaphors that no one would actually say. i think no self-respecting author should ever use it.
but also as someone who sometimes dares to delve into the ao3 depths when i have a sliver of free time, i can say for certain that a lot of you write WORSE than AI, if we’re being honest.
so the trend of people INSISTING that all fanfiction is better than the AI written stuff is just honestly not true. them saying that to people who have extremely subpar writing is 1) not going to help them improve, and 2) straight up lying. it’s like telling someone ugly that “you are so STUNNING omg!” like, lmao my ass off.
The Outsider (Dishonored 2 2016)
I need to get some things off my chest.
This will likely be the last thing I say regarding what has been going on over the past week that is related to myself and my fanfiction. I want to keep this post objective, rather than accusatory, and I will let people decide what they believe based off the information provided. I don’t want to insult anyone, nor say anything negative, but bring more clarity.
I would like to clear this up once and for all, not just with my Fanfiction but also the allegations of bullying and transphobia that have been brought against me during this confrontation. I wanted to let this go, but these are not words that should be taken lightly—with or without the situation that has caused these things to be said.
But I will ask, please keep negativity out of the comments!
So first, let me bring more context to the screenshots provided against me as well as how the rewrite function was also described by them as well. Also make sure to check dates and times.

We Need to Talk About AI Detectors
Over the past few weeks there have been two posts in particular that have come out against two authors in the community that have resulted in near witch hunts for one, and essentially driving the other off the internet from all the bullying and hate received. These posts were related to the potential use of AI in fanfiction, as well as using supposed “AI Detectors” to support their claims. With the help of friends, we have been able to look into the AI claims that were made against both The Silence and The Song and Ir Abelas, Da’ean.
We were curious about how and why these posts were being flagged with high levels of “AI Probability” when the authors have been adamant (either in chats or in public) that they have never used generative AI for their work. So we did the most logical thing, put on our detective caps, and rolled up our sleeves. We would like to note that we do not wish to have philosophical discussions, we wish to have transparency and honesty.
Spoilers: We found inaccuracies almost IMMEDIATELY.
Firstly, we looked into the weakness of AI detectors, and read through online posts where people voiced their frustrations with detectors. One thing that we noticed was that the common denominator was that well written articles were being flagged as “Likely AI”, particularly with Originality, and that the solution was to either “dumb them down” or to remove punctuation such as commas, which immediately improved the score, tipping the scale to “Likely Original”.
For the second step, we ran some of our own works through Originality AI checker–works that were made prior to the creation of AI and generative AI. However, after punctuation was removed, this magically changed from 50% likelihood of AI to 100% original work. Again, these works were from before the dawn of generative AI, and therefore could not have been created by AI. For fun, we even ran the first chapter of Harry Potter through it–a novel that is objectively without AI, which still did not come out with results stating 100% original work. We then removed almost all of the punctuation from it, and it actually improved the originality score by 3% (from 95% to 98%).

Next step, we ran our own scans through Originality and Quillbot. This includes full chapters of Ir Abelas, Da’ean, both with and without punctuation in Originality, and excerpts in Quillbot. Interestingly, the excerpts in Quillbot pinged as “0% likely AI”, and that is without any removal of punctuation. Across the board, the removal of punctuation from the chapters caused an immediate and dramatic increase in the score, from “100% likely AI” to “96% likely Original”. We have found that the more grammatically correct a work was, the more likely it was to be flagged as “AI”, much like how the freelance writers were complaining about.

Even the Ai detection websites caution against this:
To Durgeapologist, Fangbanger3000, and friends: If you do actually read this, I hope you realize that your posts have done more harm than good to the community. You are correct that AI is a potential threat to creative spaces, but you have gone about addressing it in the worst possible way. By creating multiple posts across platforms with the intent of creating a negative perspective toward certain authors and their fictions rather than the use of AI as a whole—not to mention the counter-accusations with personal attacks rather than focusing on the issue at hand—you are creating an environment that fosters negativity, bullying, and division—none of which are directions to take a sustainable and healthy community. AI Detection is the Wild West right now. There is no way to determine if something written is AI through the use of algorithms, and it requires the use of human intervention and careful comparison to previous works to be within a certain level of certainty that it is AI. Our hope is that in the future, you will take time, step back, and consider all possible sides before causing a stir in the community like this.
