every time i read anything about the british army suppressing colonial revolts and communist revolutionary movements throughout the 50s-80s across their territories in africa (kenya and the mau mau rebellion, the various wars fought by colonial rhodesia and south africa against militant african communist liberation orgs) the malayan emergency is mentioned as having been their testing ground and the development of their divide and rule strategy against communist insurgent movements throughout the empire. like in every text i find about this the authors always bring up the malayan emergency as where the british army first honed the strategy they would use in colonial africa. the british soldiers who slaughtered communists in malaya were then shipped around the empire to their colonies in africa to continue their violence against local populations there. a lot of the soldiers who fought in the malayan emergency for the british and australian armies became private mercenaries who travelled around the african continent killing indigenous people and fighting on behalf of apartheid states for a living for decades. during and after apartheid ended in south africa these men founded/joined private military contractors and have continued to staff and train the next generation of mercenaries fighting in imperialist wars throughout the world including in palestine. and legit every single text i've found traces this back to the commonwealth armies during the malayan emergency and the atrocities they committed during that time and all these men are still running around doing the same things. unreal

Wonderful news! My dear friend Fadel (@fadel-dani) was able to present his graduation project at his university and received his Bachelor's degree in Information Technology! Fadel's project was about creating an integrated system for managing the water desalination plant in Gaza electronically. This is an incredibly important project, because Israel has systematically destroyed Gaza's water treatment infrastructure, blocked repairs in countless ways, and targeted workers. It is extremely brave to be working on this project. Please donate so that Fadel can one day lend his skill to rebuilding Gaza. From the river to the sea, Palestine will be free.

While Fadel shared this happy news with friends, he was interrupted by Israeli helicopters bombing nearby. There were four strikes on Gaza City last night and at least ten people were martyred. As we text today, @fadel-dani is still in the hospital receiving treatment. To maintain hope in the future, he must survive the present.
