Angelica Pickles is based on Angelica from Rugrats. She is a 25 year old human, mall employee, and uses she/her pronouns. She has no powers. Angelica is portrayed by Renee Rapp.
angelica has always been a spoiled brat. there really is no delicate way to put it but that’s okay because angelica is anything but delicate. Her mother was a fierce businesswoman who raised angelica to take no one’s crap. her father….a meek but pretentious man who was easy to manipulate. angelica had her parents wrapped around her finger for most of her young years since they were hardly around. . at least until she turned 13 and tried to act like she could do literally whatever she wanted when she wanted times twelve. that plus not being dropped off constantly at her aunt and uncles home meant that the attention she desired was actually not so wonderful after all. suddenly the boot came down and she struggled to live her life because she was constantly getting detention or being grounded. but we’ll get to that later.
when tommy was born and angelica was no longer the pickles kid with the most attention she had to admit it was not easy. before that she only ever had to worry about chuckie and that boy was so spineless that she was able to boss him around with just a mean look alone. tommy changed everything. And with tommy came phil and lil around suddenly and those dumb babies got along so good that angelica was always the thorn in their side. honestly? she was unbothered. those kids were all goody goody babies who always got things that angelica thought she deserved and that wasn’t fair. she was constantly stuck at her aunt and uncles house and all she could really do was boss the babies around and make sure she got the most cookies and tv time at the end of the day. the only perk was that they believed her every word….at least they did until susie moved nearby. susie is basically her best friend but also her greatest enemy. she both pushes angelica to be better and drives her insane when she always gets her way.
her real best friend? her favorite childhood doll cynthia. cynthia has been there for her in every way since she got her. does the doll look like utter shit and should be thrown away? yes. but angelica would rather die than ever part with her favorite doll. she still keeps her in her little apartment and still tells her everything. some toys are worth cherishing forever.
angelica has always idolized her mother. she was the strongest woman she knew and she was ruthless when she found it necessary. she taught angelica how to do her makeup, she taught her how to stand up for herself, and she groomed her to be ready for success when it came to her. the biggest issues were that it never came and she was hardly around for most of her life. angelica acted out the most because all she wanted was for her mother to see her as a mini her.
as angelica got older, she got a little less meaner, but remained as manipulative as ever. it was always angelica first in her mind and even though all she wanted to be was popular, she wasn’t. in fact, there wasn’t a school where she wasn’t constantly seeking validation from popular kids that hated her. it seemed to always come so easy to the rugrats (her idea she will say) and she just could not stand it. honestly, when it came to school she focused way too hard on being popular and not on her grades or following the rules when the didn’t benefit her, which lead to those previously mentioned detentions and groundings.
angelica has always known she was born to be a star, she just lacks most star power. she could be a good singer if she took vocal lessons and listened to others. She could be a decent actress if she took notes and tried to grow. she could have been a great ballerina if she payed attention in class. she could have done amazing in fashion if she applied herself in school and sewed more. she could have been a kickass politician with the way she runs her mouth and is able to learn everyone’s secrets; she just never listened to anyone but herself. and most times she still doesn’t. she is trying to work on that but it is a core part of her personality to be so overly confident and having almost nothing to back it up.
if there was one thing she could keep with her forever in the afterlife, it would probably be her cell phone. she loves her cell phone more than she loves herself and that is saying something. she loves social media, she loves the gossip, and she makes sure she is always on top with any bits of it she can get.
she didn’t go to college and because of that she had to get a job at the mall. she works at a boutique which is obviously cruel because she feels she is the one who should be owning one, but her mother and father have been very adamant about her making her own money even though they are filthy rich. she is still able to go over budget at times and doesn’t even pay for her apartment, but she knows one of these days she is going to have to. to stay in the perfect spot she is in with almost zero responsibilities she promises her parents she is gonna apply to college soon. some days she considers it, most days she does not.
angelica has always had a sweet tooth and she is unashamed about it. cookies are still to this day her favorite food. she would absolutely eat like a child still if she didn’t fall for fad diets every now and then when her favorite celebrities do.
when angelica crushes, she crushes hard. she is a chaotic bisexual who will do the most insane things to get her crushes to notice her. she has a few exes sure, but at the end of the day, hardly anyone can handle her big heart.
all that confidence is mostly true, but she is also so deeply insecure that it could suffocate a person and it has multiple times. she always feels like she isn’t good enough while also feeling like the baddest bitch alive. she worries that there will always be someone better than her while also knowing she is the best option at all times. she used to keep all of that to herself but now she journals. at least her handwriting is super cute to look at.
her first cat, fluffy, was her twin flame. she passed away when angelica was in high school and ever since she has been getting the same kind of cat with the same energy and naming her fluffy. right now she has fluffy the third and fluffy the third is young and beautiful and goes a lot of places with her.
as much as angelica is a people pleaser she refuses to be anything but her authentic self. she tells it like it is, she scares the right people (and often the wrong), and she never lets anyone see her sweat. except susie and her cousin and his little friends. they have seen her cry a lot.
