My Ancestral Anthology work - the prompt asked for Dualscar somehow surviving that encounter with the Grand Highblood, and winding up on Darkleer’s doorstep, and. yes. there was no way I could resist that. i regret only that i had neither the time nor the stamina to make this 5x longer.

When you open the door you find a seadweller crumpled there, violet blood smeared down the metal and splashed across the chitin of his armor. You can smell it, tangy salt and copper, the scent stirring the primitive instincts in your hindpan that tell you to be prepared to fight.

The seadweller looks up at you and takes a rattling breath. "Lemme in."

One cannot “pull out all the stops” on a Fury Road piece, because if you’re stopping on Fury Road you’ve already made a critical error. Furiosa is sliiiightly “off-model” here, as I rendered what I’d envision she might wear in a sequel. So it’s similar to the original, but with tweaks (mainly the arm and bandanna).

Have you ever noticed how much we use signal degradation as a shorthand for existential “wrongness”?

Like, in horror movies, an otherworldly voice may hiss like radio static, while a creepy monster may jerk and stutter from position to position like a video that’s dropping frames. The influence of a hostile, alien presence may be indicated by visual “tearing”, like the film is being played back from damaged media, or by deliberate audio/video desynchronisation.

Video games get in on the act, too. The use of simulated glitches to represent reality-warping effects in horror gaming is well documented, of course, but it goes beyond that. In the language of gaming, a portal to an alien realm may bleed stylised pixels and crackle like a PC speaker with the volume cranked too high, while the sound effects associated with “unnatural” magic might introduce digital distortion to an otherwise naturalistic soundscape.

I sometimes wonder what it says about our anxieties as a culture that the easiest way for media to freak us out is to confront us with manifestations of the artificiality of the medium.

So this was my drone season assignment! I gave myself ShianneUrami’s prompts, because of this gem:

I would LOVE to see ABO trope with heat cycles done well, in that I want Character A to be well aware of their heat, they keep on top of things so things don't hit them out of nowhere, and knowing their scent changes to something sickly sweet and great before a heat, they have Character B wrapped around their finger before and through the heat and it's great. Character A is obviously the Omega of the two, B being the Alpha. The Alpha loves it just as much, loves pampering his Omega, and loves eating him out. Anything and everything for his mate. Teasing lead up to the heat, and also good rough heat sex with laughter and playful bites and fun.

So yeah, adorable poly commune family a/b/o with Captors being jerks who kinda like each other. yep. :B
