HOWDY, I love your work, it's nothing short of an absolute treat and eye candy when I see ya post even when it's fandoms I'm not familiar of! I wanted to ask how draw such amazing anatomy and clothing folds? Every time I see your work, it's totally life-like. Not sure if there's any particular way ya study these things, or it's just a "keep drawing" type answer? Either way thank you for reading and possibly answering my ask!!!! ā¤ļø
Thank you so much! That really means a lot ā¤ļøā¤ļøA lot of this is practice and using a lot of references and do studies. For me the big part is having a sense of patterns, material and what to pay attention to when trying to understand fabric folds like where it gathers, where it falls, where gravity is pulling, where anatomy is twisting/pulling, movement/wind, the quality of the material effecting how much it will fold. References is very important, my prefer type is in motion ref video instead of still image. Don't be afraid to draw body parts you are not good at. A lot of people hate drawing hands, but I never really shied away from them as I was learning and as a result I can draw them confidently. I also study life drawing in college for a short period of time, it was all drawing bones and muscles in front, side, and 3/4 view over and over. Then I got burnt out of studying anatomy and started sketching from imagination only to find out that my shapes and poses felt flat. My take away is that anatomy is very important, but it yields diminishing returns. Itās best to always be studying different concepts and applying them to personal projects (such as drawing body part but make it personal, drawing your OCs hand instead)

Actual trans rep in Star Wars is so fucking dire bro. We got
Clone who is transfem. Her name is basically The Girl One and she primarily exists to make the authorāand also Anakin Skywalker for some reasonāseem woke
Evil enby nemesis of Doctor Aphra who exists for 1 comic run. Confirms that the empire is transphobic ig
4 High Republic background characters, none of which have any focus. 2 of these characters are telepathic enby alien twink twins who share the same mind and are thus so ambiguously trans that they had to be confirmed on Twitter
1 guy from a Visions novel that isnāt canon at all (apparently the only place where trans HRT is mentioned) and 1 enby from the High Republic who is so irrelevant they have 2 sentences of information on them in their Wookiee article
One of the most expansive and popular franchises in history, and this is all we got? Fucking embarrassing.
Some fun stats: 3/8 of these characters were created by the same non-binary comic writer, so shout out to Alyssa Wong for carrying canon Star Wars trans rep on their back. 5/8 are from the High Republic project, which is now concluded, so itās likely that none of them will ever get to be explored. 6 out of the total 8, and 3 out of the 4 nonbinary characters, are aliens, which normally wouldnāt be a problem in Star Wars, but considering sci-fiās history of never letting transgender (and especially non-binary) characters be Human, is concerning. A whopping NONE of these characters exist in higher-canon media, only comics and novels, and one of them isnāt even canon at all.
