I dont really have any images from this days because I was still coming down from the eventual evening the night before but, something came up that I completely forgot about. A TECH WEEK! Which then… took hold of my entire week..
First night staying over at the school! I’ve done these things before but since I had a film due date LOOMING over my head I was a tad worried. For today’s run / rehearsal I was only watching the show (because I hadn’t seen it or seen the script up until this point.) They also provided food, it was meh.
Today was once again, a rehearsal. I can’t even remember anything other than these rehearsals this week lol. We had to speedrun taking down sets and putting them back where they were in prep for intermission. I fucked up my had a bit for a few days so— minor casualty. We also moved up to the catwalk! Then it was finally my turn to run lights for the show (scary)
We weren’t supposed to stay late today but, we had waaaay too many problems that needed to be fixed so we had to. (A little peeved but it didn’t matter) We tried to run as much as we could and we did! Kinda.
While I was at rehearsal, my mother was getting transported to the ER. When I had found that out from a text from both my mother and father I was stressed. They weren’t telling me anything at all, the doctors didn’t even know what was going on with her. I had to stick it out until I got home to figure out what to do.
At least I had a good cast to be surrounded with during this time. :)
Tonight was the first show. I was terrified. I was figuring out things with my mother in the ER while trying to run the show. My nerves were hitting an all time high, I was shaking like a madman and I hated it all so much. We had some technical difficulties (and mistakes.) But the run went well.
And.. MY MOTHER GOT SURGERY! The pain was finally gone and now all we had to do was get her out of the hospital.
Closing night had finally come, our week’s worth of prep had finally came up to this. The family went and visited my mother (My little brother couldn’t come because they wouldn’t let 10 year olds in??) and fuck did I miss her. It hit like a truck seeing my mom again in ways I didn’t understand. She was okay, everything was going to be okay.
With that news, I went onto the final show with a different attitude. Determined to make this show the best it could be. Still very nervous but I treckend on and revived the best news ever.
And as the curtain call ran, the final show was done. All of the fear and stress was gone. Now it was time for the cast party at the 50’s diner near the school! AND IT WAS BEAUTIFUL. It was a perfect play for a bunch of theater kids to eat junk food and celebrate a play well done.
And this was probably the most stress filled week i’ve ever had, and now we move onto the next one.
