see it's crazy how "shipping irl people is morally correct and awesome" and "don't tell the irl people about how you're shipping them or put that content in spaces they can easily find without proper tagging because that makes most people uncomfortable, actually" are two statements that coexist and need to coexist in the mcyt fanspace.

make whatever you want forever. "boundaries" are imaginary, and content creators cannot dictate what you make because they are not expressly paying you for your time and content and skills. if this includes rpf, then that same exact logic applies. write about those real life people kissing.

however. it is also your duty as someone who is making content that makes people--including the subjects of said content--uncomfortable to tag it properly, and keep it out of spaces where the creators can see it. it's that simple. don't post about it on twitter (because filtering and tagging is worse there), use proper tagging when posting on tumblr, and don't say anything in the comments or chat of those creators. it doesn't need to be difficult, and everyone is happy.
