people are missing the point and being annoying about it in the notes so. this post is not about fandom or booktok being inherently bad what i was SAYING is that publishers are manipulating the two to sell more books which is going to make it even harder for newer, bolder and more experimental writers to ever get published. marketability is being prioritised over and above actual talent (this always was a problem but it has been exacerbated by publishers discovering the profitability of fandom) which is incredibly sad and disheartening. this will do to the literary canon what the mcu did to film
