seeing people downplay markhelly's relationship really grinds my teeth in a way few things do. "they will be caught in five minutes" "she's an eagan, it will never work" IT DOESN'T MATTER. IT NEVER MATTERED. NOT TO THESE CHARACTERS NOR TO THE CORE THEMES OF THIS SHOW. if you can't see the heartwrenching euphoria in mark and helly trying to be together for one more minute, that even if they die at least it will be by each other's sides, that they will have had the agency, the freedom, to live for themselves and each other for even a heartbeat in the palms of their hands, then i'm afraid you never understood this story. not the beating heart of it, not the being human part of it, nothing
See you at the Equator
22/100
"where are they going" it doesn't matter. it doesn't matter. it matters that he chose her. it matters that they aren't looking 10 seconds into the future. it matters that being with her is all that he's thinking of. for 10 minutes or 10 seconds it doesn't matter. it literally does not matter
y'all, it was always going to end this way. from the moment mark scout told mark s. about reintegration, it was always going to end this way. mark scout literally looked mark s. in the eyes and said "we're going to have a life, and it's going to my life. we're going to live in my house with my wife and have the life i want. and you're going to like it because you're an extension of me." he didn't see mark s. as a person and that, in the end, was his greatest downfall.
mark s. did what mark scout asked. he fought his way to the elevator and he ran ms. casey to the stairs so she could be gemma again in the outside world. he saved the poor, tortured, woman trapped in lumon's basement because that was the right thing to do. but then, when faced with a choice between dying forever or turning around to try and somehow have a life of his own? with the woman he loves? of course he turned around.
this doesn't have anything to do with which ship is better or what was the most logical thing to do or even what mark and helly are going to do now. the point is mark s. stood there at the door, at the literal precipice of death, and said "i want to live. i want to live. i want to live." and come on, wouldn't you do the same?
Mark s spent his entire life imprisoned at work for his outie’s emotional convenience, mark s has Been looking for gemma all season long, mark s had his feelings And life belittled by outie mark in this very episode and he STILL chose to save gemma, he had that whole convo with helly about wanting more time together but he STILL finished cold harbor he STILL went down to the testing floor and he STILL escorted miss casey out the door and freed gemma.
And people are MAD at him? For choosing to spend a few extra minutes with the woman he loves? Before they are both inevitably caught? Before their life inevitably ends?? Hilarious.
idk i think everyone who is going to spend this entire hiatus convincing themselves that that was helena at the end is going to be sorely disappointed when season 3 airs and that isn’t the case. no, helly was never cruel, yes, she agreed to help him rescue gemma. but mark s walking out into the stairwell to join her means mark s dies. she doesn’t want that either, and selfish as it might be, she loves mark. it’s not so black and white as “it’s cruel of helly to do this to gemma.” it’s a tragedy at its core. characters make choices that are right for them and still hurt others and in a show like severance, there’s really no reconciling everyone’s wants and needs into a neat ending that satisfies all parties.
severance emphasizes over and over that innies are not "parts of people" and then everyone's seething that innie mark didn't choose to die in service of his outie's desires oooooooh this is gonna be a long wait for season 3
helena is never the first choice. her father doesn’t love her. helly feels that emptiness and told mark to go and live, that maybe his outie meant it. that there might be a chance for him. because im her mark. but he chose her. he chose her he chose her he chose her
king of reclaiming his agency as a person in the terrifying face of oblivion #TeamInnieMark
helly saying “i’m her, i’m her” in an attempt to persuade mark to choose a life with gemma rather than remaining in hell with her. but it didn’t work. he loves all of her. and choose to remained locked in hell for the chance of just ten more minutes with her.
see you at the equator.

can’t get over just how much better it would have been for daemon to come to be loyal to rhaenyra on his own. instead of harrenhall mind breaking him, he has a break through instead and comes out the other side stronger. instead his character development is just. handed to him?? it’s just. It’s so much less powerful
larys was so funny for being like 'no it's cool that daemon took harrenhal he's experiencing horrors beyond our comprehension'
Aegon: Daemon has HARRENHAL!
Larys: easy misconception. Actually, Harrenhal has Daemon.
Alicent: *gently caressing Aemond's face* Can you stop being evil
