If someone in your life is Type One Diabetic, watch this movie. This scene normalizes what a low blood sugar episode is like. Imagine dealing with deployment of someone you are falling in love with, adapting to a new insulin pump, high blood sugars, low blood sugars, counting carbs, changing insulin pump sights, changing continuous glucose monitor sights, trying to chase your career, being emotionally available for your significant other.

It’s a lot.

The fact she wanted to marry him for insulin and then fell in love with him was sweet but so sad. I know it’s an illegal marriage but this movie shines the light of the pure disparity of type one diabetics. I’ve seen a kid starve himself before so his family didn’t have to pay for insulin. Insulin prices before my insurance are over $1000 for a month.
