do you ever see something so terrifying that you just…have to buy it?
honest-to-god, this smells like a pumpkin spice latte
it smells sweet
why does it smell sweet
this smells…horrifying
it smells like something that should not be consumed by humans. it smells like a jack-o-lantern that’s rotted after four days on the front porch
and it tastes…it tastes…
so, there are good ways to make something pumpkin-flavored, around this time of year. pumpkin spice is fine in a latte or dessert, but for pasta or soup, you go savory - onion, garlic, salt and pepper, and you’ve got yourself a decent meal!
but this…
I don’t know if I can finish eating this. I was barely able to start eating it, because the smell is so nauseating, putting it in my mouth feels wrong.
it’s salty, but also horribly sweet, and tastes strongly of cinnamon and nutmeg. when you take a bite, at first it tastes like nothing - but a few chews in, you can feel the awful sticky-sweet spice residue taking up residence in your mouth.
I hate this!
what malicious focus group told nissin that this was a good idea? how many people tried this product and thought it was good enough to put on shelves?
why does it have sugar, brown sugar, and sucralose in it? wasn’t one enough, you sick bastards?
-100/10. worst thing I’ve eaten this year. and that’s saying something, because I eat a lot of garbage.
no. no way.
fuck everything about this
if they wanted it to be a dessert, why did they make it salty! why did they add a small amount of onion and garlic, and turmeric, and paprika!
a dessert ramen, I could have handled! but this was a normal ramen, with sugar and artificial sweetener added!
what the fuck
let no one say I never make sacrifices for my art
so, the worst part of this
the absolute worst part
is that the whipped cream actually improves the taste and texture significantly
is it good now? absolutely not
but is it borderline edible?
…fuck. I hate this. this is the darkest day of my life.

So apparently, over the summer, Quibi (the shortest-lasting streaming service ever lmao) did a quarantine project called “Home Movie: The Princess Bride” where a bunch of celebrities recreated The Princess Bride in tiny chunks at home.
And like there was no permanent cast, all these celebrities seem to have gotten a scene or part of a scene to do (i’m not sure exactly, I did not ever watch Quibi and thus haven’t seen this yet), and then they just… recreated it as best they could. At home. Under quarantine.
So like, you had Jennifer Garner in a blanket cape playing Princess Buttercup AND the Booing Old Woman with a crowd comprised entirely of stuffed animals:
Or Taika Waititi paying Westley off a badly-drawn Inigo on a piece of cardboard held in front of someone’s face:
And it’s all just delightful.
But my absolute favorite part of this thing that I’ve sadly never seen but assume is probably absolutely hilarious and a treasure and I want to find it some day and watch the whole thing… is that Carey Elwes is in it.
As Prince Fucking Humperdink.

One of the weirder things to be created during the decade that was 2020!
I think you mean one of the BEST things to be created during the decade that was 2020!
I love how the only person playing their original part is Fred Savage
Here is a better version of the video from YouTube

A Baccano fanart in 2020? Yes please.
P.s. My Obey Me! MC got something to do with Naritaverse so, I might spam more Baccano/Durarara in the future hgjshjshjsh

If you’re unemployed, it’s not because there isn’t any work.
Just look around: A housing shortage, crime, pollution; we need better schools and parks. Whatever our needs, they all require work. And as long as we have unsatisfied needs, there’s work to be done.
So ask yourself, what kind of world has work but no jobs? It’s a world where work is not related to satisfying our needs, a world where work is only related to satisfying the profit needs of business.
This country was not built by the huge corporations or government bureaucracies. It was built by people who work. And, it is working people who should control the work to be done. Yet, as long as employment is tied to somebody else’s profits, the work won’t get done.
Was expecting classist bullshit, got the exact opposite
This is so ubelievably important and I hate that I have to keep re-explaining it to people.
I’ve made this post like six times but it still fucks me up the China’s mountains just look like that. Like I spent decades thinking it was stylistic but no, they just have different mountains over there.
For reference, here’s what my local mountains look like:
Here’s the general art style Chinese mountains are drawn in:
And here’s how some of them actually look:
What the FUCK
I’m specifically reblogging this here because I know there is a geological reason for this and I know at least one of you has to know it.
Limestone I believe.
Quartz sandstone actually. Limestone is a good guess because it’s very easy to erode, even the wiki article notes most people guess limestone first, but nope! Just a lot of time, and mechanical weathering from ice and plant roots.
Ooh, hey, I know a related thing! We have similar formations in Colorado, and they’re eroded sandstone. What happened was that some sandy areas had heavy rocks/boulders sitting on top & the weight compressed the sand beneath it into stone hard enough to withstand the erosion of the (in this case) Colorado River over the years. This is a picture of Bryce Canyon, with a bunch of those monoliths/columns.
And here’s some at the Colorado National Monument.
Rocks wear hats to protect them from the weather and humans think it looks very cool.
It seems like hoodoos are sort of the opposite of these formations in China though? Those form in very wet conditions, and hoodoos form in dry, hot areas.
More mountains in China (these ones are limestone/karst and are in the southeast):
And these ones are in central China near Song Shan. I don’t know anything about the geology, but they look like the earth was stacked like pancakes and then turned in its side. They’re fantastic!
Another example of the thing shown above (rock columns left due to particular erosion patterns) is the Putangirua Pinnacles in New Zealand
Which as a fun fact was the setting for the Paths of the Dead in Return of the King. Here is a little summary about them
So many of you asked for a tutorial on how I paint faces/ add a light source, so here you go! 😍 Let me know if you guys have any feedback or if you want to try it yourself! 💜
A really incredible set of tips covering both faces and lighting!
I just want to remind everyone how affordable buying food from indigenous tribes is. I live in a major city and I was able to purchase and ship (15) pounds of fish from back home to myself for cheaper than I could buy it from a grocery store here in the city. Yeah, shipping has its own environmental factors but I was able to support an indigenous owned business while also getting my groceries at a lesser cost. (Buying in bulk is always a good idea if you’re planning on having something shipped to you)
Some tribal owned grocers that ship:
Bow and Arrow (Ute Mountain)
Native Harvest (White Earth)
Red Lake Fishery (Red Lake)
Wozupi (Mdewakanton Dakota)
Ramona Farms (Gila River)
Tanka Bars (Oglala)
Indian Pueblo Store (Pueblos)
Twisted Cedar Wine (Cedar Paiutes)
Ute Bison (Ute)
Seka Hills Olive Oil and Vinegars (Yocha Dehe Wintun)
She Nah Nam Seafood (Nisqually)
Sakari Botanicals (Inupiaq)
Honor the Earth (?)
Nett Lake Wild Rice (Anishinaabe)
Passamaquoddy maple (Passamaquoddy)
BONUS: coffee :)
Yeego Coffee (Navajo)
Spirit Mountain Roasting (Yuma Quechan)
Birchbark Coffee (Anishinaabe)
Thunder Island Coffee (Shinnecock)
Hey between this and putting some grow-lights up in the Garage i might nt have to go to the grocery store at all anymore!
my brother has been criticizing me all day and he told me if i wasn’t happy i could go somewhere else so i wouldn’t ruin everyone else’s dinner so i took the massive bowl of pasta + special sauce i spent the last 2 hours making from scratch for the whole family and i left
it really is incredibly bold to mercilessly criticize the person who is not only making your dinner but also holding a knife
I sequestered myself in the other side of the house and ate my family-sized pasta from a mixing bowl using a serving spoon in the dark because the sun went down in the 2+ hours I spent stewing and I was too stubborn to turn on a light
the only person I shared my pasta with was my dad who on a conference call at the time and didn’t just stand there and watch my brother be an asshole like the rest of my family and since he came to me in my sanctuary with his bowl and asked nicely if he could have some pasta i did share with him
sometimes you’re an adult who has been quarantined with your parents, younger siblings, grandfather, and dog for the last 2 months because of a global pandemic and some nights you just have to take your pasta and Leave because you are an adult who knows when to tap the fuck out
OP thank you not only for the amazing image of you eating pasta in the dark and your father kindly pleading for your mercy but also a wonderful example of when to set firm boundaries and prioritize yourself bless u
