i want to say a big thank you so, so much to everyone who has supported, followed and continues to support and follow dailymidsomermurders. it is incredibly appreciative and i hope you all know that. especially considering how small this fandom is and i even remember when i first set this blog up back in 2017, how small the fandom was back then and i honestly never thought this blog would reach a milestone like this one so again, thank you everyone so much.
Does anyone have any Midsomer Murders gif requests?
I'm been struggling a lot when it comes to inspiration and motivation for Midsomer so, if you have a request, please be as specific as possible and leave them in the replies of this post. Because I really want this blog to be more active again.
I was trying to figure out what felt different about s25 of Midsomer Murders and it just hit me: the killer reveal moment didn't happen while Barnaby & Winter were trying to save the last victim from being murdered. That's literally how we've found out who the killer was for the last 10 seasons and they just, they changed it.
"We're thrilled to be returning to Midsomer with Barnaby and Winter."
ITV has made a big announcement about its beloved detective show Midsomer Murders, confirming its future beyond seasons 24 and 25, which are yet to air in the UK. The channel has officially commissioned the show for a 26th series which will include "four brilliant brand new cases".
Set to return with a four-part season, the new episodes for season 26 will bring the total number of Midsomer Murders episodes to 148, a feat which ITV says makes "DCI Barnaby the most hard-working TV detective".
Speaking to Radio Times, ITV's drama commissioner Huw Kennair Jones told fans what to expect from the upcoming season, saying: "We're thrilled to be returning to Midsomer with Barnaby and Winter. Series 26 promises to deliver four brilliant brand new cases for the legion of Midsomer Murders fans to enjoy."
"We are so pleased to be able to bring viewers more tales from the fascinating world of Midsomer Murders with this series 26 commission," added executive producer Michele Buck.
First airing in 1997, Midsomer Murders starred John Nettles and Daniel Casey as DCI Tom Barnaby and DS Gavin Troy, respectively.
Taking over the lead role from Nettles in 2011, Neil Dudgeon has played Tom's cousin John Barnaby ever since and will return as the lead detective for season 26.
Nick Hendrix will also reprise his role as DS Winter alongside Annette Badland, who plays Dr Fleur Perkins. Fiona Dolman is also set to return as John's wife, Sarah.
Filming for season 25 began earlier this year, while production on season 26 is expected to begin next year.
While news of a 26th season is certainly exciting, UK fans of the show are still patiently waiting for season 24 to air, despite it being available to view in the US.
Previously speaking about filming season 25, Dudgeon said: "It’s fantastic to be filming Midsomer again. The scripts are all great, full of intrigue and mystery, so I’m very excited for you to see them.
"Our writers, who seem so normal, have come up with yet more extraordinary ways for the residents of Midsomer to dispatch their neighbours, which is fun and slightly worrying; I work with these people!"
