I didn’t realize how many people would fall in love with Minute Rice due to his name.

When he was ready to come home his breeder suggested bringing a tupperwear container to hold him in during the ride so he would be more secure. I picked a random container I had that just so happened to be labeled “Minute Rice”. I hadn’t planned making it his name, it just sort of fit.

He also has a sibling named Cup Noodle, who is kind of a dick and will likely be exiled to his own tank soon. He also looks like a mad scientist.

Local Fish Store Fire

First of all, I’m not affiliated with this store. I’m a customer and I love them, they’ve always been the image of what a LFS should strive to be. Spacious and species-appropriate tanks, a huge variety of fish, plants, and corals, and great advice from knowledgeable staff. Early Friday morning, a fire (cause undetermined) broke out in the back of the store. The losses have been enormous, and this small business is devastated. I thought it would be the right thing to do to at least post their GoFundMe on tumblr after this disaster. Please share if you can, and if you’re in a position where you can spare a dollar, I’m sure they’d really appreciate it!
