you know, you know me. i like to get obliterated. you know, you know me, to be a bit debilitated. you know, you know me. i like it when i'm AGITATED, you know, you know me. they say boy you know it's time to go, you've gotta give it up, they say you gotta give it up but i'm an ANIMAL, you're an ANIMAL.
βi am in the middle of training so unless you have something incredibly important to say to me then i suggest that you leave.β rey stated as she heard the footsteps approaching her. she was out in the middle of the desert trying to make her connection with the force stronger when she felt someone coming up behind her. the girl didnβt even turn around, only took a deep breath and continued focusing.
Β Β Β Β Β ββββ β daimon knew how irritated kylo would be as he hovered around the scavenger girl. surely it would drive him mad to know that rey looked at him fondly, almost like a friend. his lips twitched into a small grin. daimon had to be careful with her, tentative with her trust. the satisfaction if he could turn herβ that would eat his former brother alive. daimon shouldnβt be so spitefully, but wasnβt that all that remained of the renβsΒ ? spite and ambition.Β β you know, you neednβt go into the middle of nowhere to meditate. to force is inside a cantina as much as it is out here. β
Sipping on another fresh chalice β no expense for this extravagance. Circumstances she was well in tune with, living within these walls made it so. The princess took note of the male that was scanning the room, as if he had lost his ward. Eyes almost.. frantic? Stepping on the feet of powerful people, she stifled a laugh. He was a big man, not meant for an event of this caliber. Yet, he was placed to be nothing more than a follower β a protector. Throughout her years as a politician, they came and went without so much as raising a fist to any threat. A factor of inhabiting a peaceful planet. The dark figure looming closer to her hiding place,Β
Β β Come here often?Β β her question that was muttered on the streets of Theed by women of the night overheard during one of her trips in disguise. A question she would never approach if it werenβt for the copious amounts of bitter liquid entwining with her bloodstream.Β
Β Β Β Β Β Β ββββ β if something happened to the princess, he could only imagine the number of problems it would cause for him. his mind was muddled with as much concern as it was full of irritation. when he was stationed, daimon never tended to stray too far from the girl. painfully, at times, he even found himself not despising it. though anything was better than being forced to mingle with the people of naboo under this meek impression. she was smart, kept him on his toes instead of on his arse waiting for the day he was finally relieved from his post. unfortunately sometimes a little too well, he mused, looking around as he tried to stay out from underfoot as much as possible, hating the fawn colouredΒ attire he wore, longing for the days of black.
heβd been just about ready to throttle someone as he reached out with his mind, looking for her familiar presence in the force when he heard a soft lilting voice come from behind forcing his shoulders to stiffen before easing into a chuckle. he turned, the softness and slowness of her dark eyes tipping him off to the liquorΒ in her system before he noted how odd the words had sounded from her lips.Β β me? no, iβm a humble farm boy, here to meet a princess. know where i might find one ? β he joked, uncommon for daimon for the most part.Β β does your highness mean to give me such stress or does it just come naturally to you ? β he chided, looking back over the ballroom heβd been searching high and low through.
if i hadnβt been for the years of learning to suppress her emotions, she would have given themβhimβ away in an instant, because there was a moment. a split second where features softened as they took in familiar features.Β
though the moment could be mistaken as a trick of the eye because as soon as one could blink, her features returned flat. emotionless. as if it wasnβt the first time sheβd seen the male in a year. as if sheβd never seen him before. as if he meant nothing to her. because he did mean nothing to her, at least the man he was assigned to pretend to be didnβt mean a thing to her. he was someone to keep an eye on and to keep her guard up around.Β
she knew it would only be a matter of time before she saw him again, but the fact hadnβt sunk in completely until he was there standing in front of her. acting in a way she never imagined he could even act.
her chin tilted upward,Β lips forming to a thin line, as her head tilted before eyes moved over his figure.Β βyouβd think for someone with yourβinsight youβd be less likely to get under peopleβs feet. or is it maybe because you lot arenβt as in-tuned with your surroundings as you make yourselves out to be. might want to be a little more careful next time, some arenβt as forgiving.β
Β Β Β Β ββββ β before heβd been sent to the galaxies prettiest bog, daimon had liked eris best. she was quiet, less feral than the others could be and as a quiet man himself, he could appreciate such things. but he was no longer a ren, and she was simply a guest in the home of a woman he was meant to be protecting. if only she knew that her protector was the very thing she should fear the most. not only a villain but one without loyalty or obedience to keep him in check.Β β no, i wouldnβt imagine you to be the forgiving type. β he replied, raising his brows cautiously.
βshouldnβt you be fetching your leader a drink? β daimon jabbed, the words a little more sincere and spiteful than those around them knew.Β β or does he have one of the others doing the honor? β
Β Β Β Β Β ββββ βΒ β i suppose itβd be eris, maybe kya. i donβt know, i canβt say iβm particularly fond of any of them presently. β
Β Β Β Β Β Β ββββ β his smirk only lifted at the manβs insistence. the supreme leader was dead, long live the supreme leader. it was all very convenient. he didnβt bother to look up as he continued to wrap the leather tightly around the grip of the blaster in his palm, clearly more interested in whatever task was at hand than entertaining the falsity of the others words. kylo had thirsted for power and now he had it and daimon was expected to believe that was an accident? no, of course not. kylo knew he didnβt believe, he knew nobody believed him, but what did that belief matter if he was the one wielding the power. for now. β you neednβt justify yourself to me, supreme leader. β
the scavenger girl slaughtered snoke, kylo hadnβt been able to prevent it. of course! he didnβt trust in the slightest, and even if he believed the idiotic tale, heβd trust him all the less for it. if what he said was actually true, he wasnβt fit to rule a pond let alone the galaxy.Β β the scavenger bested you once, of course she did it again. β not any sign that daimon believed him, just a chance to throw a past failure in his crossfire. thereβd been a time all heβd wanted was kyloβs approval, but he was done with all that. heβd outgrown the boyishness of that love. he didnβt want his praise, he wanted his place.
His eyes quickly narrowed at the Ren. Honestly, he wasnβt about to take orders from someone whom he didnβt care for, let alone another Ren. It was already bad enough dealing with Kylo. The general turned and faced the man. βCare to tell me anything else that i do already know?β He asked, sarcasm dripping from his words. βAnd youβll do well to never attempt to order me again, Ren. Now carry on and stop wasting my time.β
Β Β Β Β ββββ β a snarl worked onto his lips as he glanced sideways at hux once more. perhaps his strong dislike towards the man was all the better for his cover. there was nothing false about his contempt.Β β iβm not ordering you, β he offered softly, though the steelΒ of his tongue did not lessen. he caught a glimpse of padmeΒ and the part of his mind that had been trailing after her returned to him now that he was sure of where she was. β iβm threatening you. indisputably, wholeheartedly. if you have any wise ideaβs of outing me to the queen... β he trailed off, though the implication was clear. daimon was not kyloβs lapdog and fear of retribution would not save his life should he decide to claim it.
β’ * β’Β Β βyou of all people should know that i donβt intend on changing or being any less prickly.β ari stated as he looked over at the man. it had been a while since heβd seen the other but there was no need for him to be hostile now β once a knight, always a knight.Β βbuy me dinner first then iβll attempt to be a little nicer.β he said with a joking smirk.
Β Β Β Β ββββ β a childish part of daimon that remained was glad to see him. though heβd be gladder should he be back where he belonged rather than them coming to join him in this place.Β β i think dinner is out of the question for now, β he remarked bitterly, his eyes almost shifting in kyloβs direction before thinking better of it.Β β i shouldnβt even be talking to you now. we donβt want the queenβs suspicions or hostility. β the sooner his cover was blown, the sooner he could stop pretending and put systems between himself and the naive princess.
Β Β Β Β Β Β ββββ β daimon wasnβt used to being the presence of so many first-order footmen without his mask and even behind the identity her wore, he still felt bare and exposed. he was a KNIGHT OF REN. he was a warrior, a leader, a god. yet he stood at the princessβs heel like a trained pet while the rest paraded themselves around with their heads held high. how he hated them. how he had missed them too. he reminded himself not to stand to close, not to be drawn to their sides though their proximity was all heβd ever known. it would be painfully obvious if he stood amongst them, what he truly was. that the blue saber he wielded was little more than a relic from his former self. he glanced around the room uncomfortably. as a ren, he was imposing and powerful. people knew how to approach him, or better yet, knew not to. this faux daimon was a mask that itched and chaffed at his skin. he wasnβt made to serve.
he took a long swig of his drink before noting that padmeΒ had wandered off somewhere. the queen wouldnβt be happy if she was left unattended in a political climate such as this. and of course daimonΒ had to care what she wanted, as everyone seemed intent to remind him. irritably, he began to move through the crowd, his lip wanting to curl into a snarl as people remained in his way. as someone stepped on his heel, he turned with a scowl only to force his features to soften.Β β sorry, β his stomach turned at the demure voice that sounded from his mouth.Β β my mother always told me i had a habit of getting underfoot. β another lie, smooth as running water. youβd almost believe heβd had a mother once.
Events such as these weβre certainly something that disgusted him. Not only was he having to maintain βpeaceβ with traitors but he also had to breathe the same air as them. Even though he couldnβt plan any sort of attack, he still could manipulate them in some way or perhaps persuade them into joining the order. He stood alone, in the back of the room, watching all the celebrations going on in disgust. At the corner of his eye, he saw a figure move next to him. βEnjoy it now while you can.β
Β Β Β Β ββββ β heβd never liked hux, never liked any of theΒ stiff-lipped cretins snokeΒ had empowered if he was honest. men like amritage hux, who barked and snarled as though it would take any more than daimon curling his fingers to remind him of his place in the galaxy. still, he smiled an irritable sort of amusement. he was unsure how to take his words; a warning that his identity that heβd built on this planet would soon crumble, or a threat that he was the one that planned to reveal it.Β β we need the royal family onside now more than ever, general. β the word sounded like an insult.Β β youβd do well to remember that. β
β’*β’ the man scoffed slighted as his arms crossed over his chest and he looked down at the man that had been bothering him.Β βjust because we are here that doesnβt give you a right to talk to us β so i suggest walking away before i put you through a wall.β aritol said to the other before watching him walk away and another approach.
Β Β Β Β Β βi do not have time for friendly chats so say what you need to and move along.βΒ
Β Β Β Β Β ββββΒ β daimonΒ stared back at his friend ( were they still friends after heβd spent so long on this watery rock ? snoke was dead, his mission along with it as far as he was concerned. ) and raised his arms in a mocking gesture of surrender.Β β as prickly as ever, i see. β daimon grinned, unsure of where he stood but heβd never been one to show such things.Β β then again, a warmer welcome and i might not have recognised you. β
choke, you choke it but you know it comes back when youβre sleeping, cuts you in the dark. burn, the city is too bright. iβll stay here with my secrets, until it fades to dust. iβll stay here with my secrets. sink, into the storm again. cold and disconnected. weβve opened every door. burn, the city is too bright. iβll stay here with my secrets. until it fades to dust, iβll stay here with my secrets.
DAIMON REN is one of the many humans fighting on naboo ; but unlike most people, this KNIGHT OF REN is known for their PRAGMATISM and dedication to HIMSELF. itβs too bad their RECALCITRANCY has the potential destroy them. if you see them around, youβll recognize their BLACK EYES, QUIET DISPOSITION, REDΒ BLUE SABER. if you would like to plot, please like this or message me!
daimon was born in a prison cell, to a woman charged with war crimes for the murder and mutilation of civilians post the disbandment of the empire. originally sentenced to execution, her pregnancy was discovered and she was incarceratedΒ until the birth of herΒ son, permitting the child toΒ beΒ born beforeΒ she received herΒ punishment. minutes after hisΒ birth, daimon was separated from salix andΒ plans were made for his fostering.
at seven, the boy's behaviour was becoming harder and harder to control and theΒ obvious nature what he truly was, was beginning to makeΒ itself known. he was unruly, untamable and angry. though the dcathamsΒ wanted to keep their son, they knew that something was manifesting inside of him that they were not equipped to control. it was only a year later thatΒ his foster parents had managed to make contact with luke skywalker.
at first, he loved studying with the jedi master. allowing him to flex and hone his powers like a muscle he could finally stretch after years of cramped conditions but daimonΒ began to suffocate under lukeβs education. it was no longer muscles that were flexed, it was hardly contained. daimon unable to channel his emotions without hurtling to the dark over and over. though his expression of the force was dark, the boy's intentions were not. at least not right away.
the night of the temple burning, daimon was one of the first to join ben. tired of hitting a wall with luke over and over as he failed repeatedly to control himself in a way that a jedi should. he hadnβt known that the night would be more than a mutiny, it was a massacre. children that daimon had considered family, were cut down. even now, he wished it had been only kylo, that he could wash his hands and pretend heβd had no part, that it hadnβt been his intention. but daimon still remembered the face, how the blue of his saber had illuminated the whites of her terrified eyes in a sickening manner before he drove it into her belly. he was as guilty as the others and there was no redemption he could seek. the crime had been done.
after the massacre, daimon thought if nothing else, that he would be free and yet he has found himself sitting at the heels of kylo once more, as he had with luke, if not more constraining. he shouldβve been a god, free and powerful but he was little more than a guard dog.
a year ago, snoke sent daimon to infiltrate naboo and itβs senate. this plan came in the form of princess padmeΒ II. using the blue saber of his childhood, daimon is forcedΒ to once againΒ do the bidding of someone beneath him, never to have his loyalty rewarded. his patience has grown thin and he wonders now why he is foolish enough to serve anyoneβs agenda but his own.
daimonβs loyalty to the knights of ren has faded to the point of non-existenceΒ over the years. they were not equals, not in the eyes of kylo and certainly not in the eyes of snoke. heβs watched his former friends tantrums and knows that he shouldβve been chosen to lead, that he wouldβve never let the scavenger girl get away. and now kyloΒ reigns as supreme leader. daimon was not born to serve forever, and he wonβt.
