The blckhawks logo isn't a racist logo. I don't like that team one bit, but it's not racist. It was an actual tribe. But if people keep getting rid of all logos and names then Native American tribes, names, and history will be forgotten and noone will remember them. Redskins and their logo I can see, but most of these other teams names and logos aren't attacking anyone. Cleveland Indians 'Chief Wahoo' wasn't attacking native americans in anyway.
Hey everyone! Look at this White Person who knows Nothing and is also Big Mad!!
Alright friends, now that i’m home and can link things, its time for a Point by Point rebuttal!
1) “the blckhawks logo isn’t a racist logo” it is a racist logo, and you’re wrong, and you’ll see why in a minute
2) “it was an actual tribe” no it wasn’t, and you’re still wrong
3) “if people keep getting rid of all logos and names then Native American tribes, names, and history will be forgotten and noone [sic] will remember them.” this is literally not how this works my guy. here is a link to an article from the National Congress of American Indians about why we should end the harmful stereotypes portrayed by those logos, names, and mascots. (also just read a fucking book about Natives by Natives and share it with your friends if you’re so worried about them being forgotten, or uhhhh, TALK TO A NATIVE AMERICAN? they live here?)
4) “Redskins and their logo I can see, but most of these other teams names and logos aren’t attacking anyone” …… you can’t just pick and choose like that?? if one depiction/name is harmful, they all probably are??? Please view the above linked article :)
5) “Cleveland Indians ‘Chief Wahoo’ wasn’t attacking native americans in anyway.” BOY HOWDY did you pick the wrong example to end your shitty post on lmao. The Baseball Hall of Fame has decided to stop using the logo! The team will get rid of it next year! the controversy around the logo has it’s own WIKIPEDIA PAGE. if you for one SECOND would listen to Native voices on this, they would tell you you’re wrong lmao.
Anyway thanks for coming to my Ted Talk
