Faybelle hating Raven cause she reminds her of a certain candy witch who also doesn't want to follow her destiny, and Faybelle hating Apple not only cause Apple is "perfect", but because deep down, Apple reminds her of herself, especially Dragon Games Apple (pushing all people away because of her actions, both of the girls being EQ's lackeys, want to be their best at their respective roles as the Dark Fairy/Snow White, etc)

i think the book acknowledging the stepmom thing one (1) time with (a very weak attempt with Apple to deny it while admitting it happened in their parents story) makes it more awkward than never bringing it up at all like the cartoons, but i realize the writers did put themselves in an hard position with the conflict needing Raven to be the Evil Queen meant to act against Apple while also being the same age despite that element of the tale...

however they probably also ignored it because it would undoubtedly be Raven's greatest weapon. It's too weird for Apple to say she approves but to say she doesn't would be a crack in her argument. Briefly poisoning Apple is one thing but that would be too much.

i know in that one book, cerise invites maddie and raven to her house for spring break , but cedar gets left out because she doesn’t know her secret :( so i think the next summer raven would convince cerise to come to cedar’s place with her. cedar’s happy cerise finally gets to meet her dad and gepetto, see her art corner and go to the beach with her. cerise gets to relax a bit as she’s happy when cedar is
