I haven't played past chapter two why is ralsei dressed like trucy ace attorney in this sprite? And can someone who actually played these games fully draw them wearing each others outfit?

There are multiple level here:

1) the yellow of the eyeliner in the doll makes the new iris of the new doll (even more) pinkish. Dolls tend to prefer light colors because they are easier to render details (in fact brown eyes are often slightly greenish or golden). The problem is that the yellow,instead of making the eyes looking a warm Brown,makes the eyes looks RED.

2) The pink tone is too white and bright. So Briar inevitably appears paler in complexion than her natural complexion, which is generally light.It's a bit like when Beyoncé or Zendaya go blonde. The "white" part comes out more predominantly.

3) The chosen highlighter makes republican make up. This accentuates the white look, especially given the use of that awful peach blush. Furthermore, the highlighter "opens up" Briar's face which appears less intense.

4) That terrible lipstick, which I also hate in real life (ugliest shade ever), doesn't balance out the eye makeup well.Good makeup tends to balance eyes and lips, and if one is the focus, you try to tone down the other. A good example of this rule is Apple, who has very desaturated eye makeup because the focus is on the lips which are bright red.

For fun: Let's compare Epic Winter's look with Briar's classic makeup look

The original look omits the glitter highlighter, making the eyes much more striking. Instead of that boring yellow eyeliner, there's a pink one that pairs well with the eyeshadow. Unlike the Epic Winter look, the pink doesn't bother her because Briar has much more mascara on so there's a nice harmony between the bright pink and the black that acts as a toner. The lips, especially in the cartoon, are a dark fuchsia as is the blush, which therefore gives the illusion that Briar's complexion is darker than it normally is, aided by the prevailing BROWN hair.

lost the post that inspired this (about Thomas Malory not being the be-all-end-all of Arthurian lit) but allow me to say the same for fairytales bc

my bros Grimm are not the definitive versions of fairytale lore. please, saying "in the original Cinderella the stepsisters cut off their toes!!" adds no weight to your argument but it will show how little you know about Cinderella. for example, that the Disney movie most closely resembles the version written by Charles Perrault over a hundred years earlier. and that, ykw, the Cinderella archetype is really, really, really old.

and when it comes to Cinderella specifically, the Perrault version is more often referenced than the Grimm version, kay?

also, like it or not, Disney's takes have left such a profound cultural impact that they basically are their own fairytales at this point. plenty of retellings and parodies are unabashedly inspired by elements in their movies.

Amazing! We must be talking about different groups translating Iruma both known as Misfits!

This is Misfit Scans translation of the volume 23 inner cover comic as it stands today! I have never known any other variant of this comic. I can’t find any other copy of it on mangadex either, though I may not be looking hard enough.

Misfits scans was consistent with the quality of their scans, so that other comic wasn’t them. The fonts are different, and the word order is off, not to mention the rephrasing.

So if there was another translation team Also known as misfits, I’d love to know about em!! I know there were some snipers at parts during the run, but since this team bothered to have redrawn the two instances of text outside the bubble, I think they were probably a higher effort team! Possible this is a faster tl done by someone using a different translation, then translating into English?

Anyway it’s super interesting to me! If you remember where you got that picture, lemme know!!
