husk doing everything he possibly can to prevent retraumatizing angel while rescuing him :((
and you have to assume itās, in part, because he himself is also an overlord. cherri has no qualms because shes not an overlord, has done this before, and knows its for the best, but he loves angel so much and he knows him being an overlord is something that can very easily turn nasty if he enacts power over him because of it.
āwhy would you do that?ā in the most worried voice ever, he literally looks so devastated and nervous about what angels gonna think if he finds out theyāre quite literally kidnapping him
he really and truly thought they would be able to talk him down, and maybe they couldve if they werenāt trying to sneak him out of the vee tower and on a time crunch
for all of this to come to a head with husk punching angel in the face when that is the last thing he ever wanted to do??? horrifying.
and for a moment, during hear my hope, you can see how relieved he is that angel is not angry with him or scared of him and is happy to be around him again
that makes this scene even MORE devastating. husk thought everything was fine now. he was just so damn happy and relieved angel wasnt scared of him and was ready to follow angel wherever he wanted to go.
