You are an adventurer in a generic fantasy world and you use this weapon!

do you have any friends that are 4x your age or more?
Do you have any friends that are 4x your age or more?
Yes
No
This poll Assumes Things about the mode age on this site that I don't think are true. Sure, teens and younger twenty-somethings can find friends that old, but plenty of people on this site are older than that.
The Superhero Mount Rushmore Everyone Is Sleeping On
I'm mostly annoyed that it's 3 Marvel and 1 DC. Can we replace Sue with Starfire?
it should be socially acceptable to wear whatever type of clothes you want anywhere and i am not kidding
dress is an indicator of status that poor people, people of color, disabled people, some religious people, and women consistently fail to meet due to social prejudice or barriers to acquiring the appropriate clothing
obviously there are scenarios where specific clothing is required (like PPE at a job site)
but a person coming to an office job in sweatpants doesn't make them less qualified to do their work, it just means they're more comfortable while doing it
"you're required to wear a face shield, an apron/coat, and closed toed shoes in this lab environment for your safety" awesome perfect, i love safety, and i can wear whatever i want under it.
"you're required to wear a suit to present your lab work" i do not become less intelligent wearing non-formal clothing, and this presentation has now become inaccessible to someone who cannot wear appropriate formal dress
I FORGOT FAT PEOPLE IN MY ORIGINAL REBLOG, DONT REBLOG WITHOUT INCLUDING FAT PEOPLE
Control over clothing in non-PPE contexts is just another way that conservatives define what is acceptable. It's about control.
you dont have to be a parent to understand the horror of walking into a room to discover that the baby crawled out of his crib and onto that pottery wheel you forgot to turn off, and while the baby is spinning around and around, the dog is sitting there all calm, like a person, gently using his paws to fashion the babys soft cartilage head into something a little more modern. it might be the classic tale of bad parenting, but lets see where the dog is going with this
This post is from 2013. It has less than 100 notes. Together we can revive this work of art that tragically ahead of its time. We’re ready for it now
@wizardshark how does it feel to know your impact? You've truly saved this post from the scrapheap of history.
For anyone who doesn't know who Weird Al is, I leave you this Masterpiece
I remember watching this video on a shitty media player a few years before YouTube was invented. Took about 20 minutes to download, was really low resolution. I'm so glad technology has improved since then.
I may not be a master tactician but I’ll have you know my grasp of grand strategy is also lacking and my practice of logistics is weak
my historical analysis may be rudimentary but my knowledge of the sciences is superficial and my mathematics lacks rigour
do I at least excel in the physical arts? no, but do I compensate by being widely read and conversant in high culture? also no.
The opposite of a modern major general, to be sure.
Avengers (1998) #61
Dialog referenced in the flavor text of this card:
So, uh
Sam Neill passed away.
A lot of people know him as Dr. Grant from Jurassic Park, but Sam Neill has an incredible catalogue of film and television, stretching back to 1975 on the big screen, but he cut his teeth in university productions of Shakespearean dramas.
All this to say, Sam Neill never let himself get pigeonholed as an actor. He was an incredibly versatile actor with a plethora of roles and genres to his name.
And that's not even touching upon his interests outside of acting. He was a passionate vintner (of the Two Paddocks winery) and an outspoken environmentalist who frequently spoke out against political policy that negatively affected indigenous peoples in Australia and New Zealand.
Jurassic Park is an incredible film, and I know many people have fond memories of the original trilogy.
But Sam Neill was more than just Dr. Grant. And I think that should be remembered too.
My favorite non-Jurassic Park project that Sam was in was a made-for-TV miniseries about Merlin where he played the title character.
Mr Hammond, after careful consideration, I have decided not to endorse your park.
He will be missed.
The UK having a literal Trash v Bin election was not on my 2026 bingo card.
I foresee a strange future where Count Binface wins his race against Farage. Forced into a seat he never expected to win, he rises to the occasion and becomes an excellent minister. Eventually he rises to become Prime Minister, and ushers the UK to a new age of prosperity. His origins as a joke candidate are treated as a bit of trivia that might win you a few points at pub trivia night, but are otherwise swept under the rug.
