If you want to write a Damian fic maybe take this in consideration:
- he doesn't feel superior for being the blood son (that's just in his introduction as barely out the cult)
- he has friends (not just Jon)
- he has normal pastimes (he reads manga, likes to draw, volunteers in animal shelters, volunteers in the hospital, play videogames)
- he is NOT obsessed with having the approval of Bruce (that's a mis-characterization)
- he loves and respects all animals (and plants) for his upbringing as Al Ghul (who are eco-terrorist assassins)
- he is not looking up to Tim, Jason, Bruce or whoever you think (he respects them but he doesn't need their approval nor want to be them)
- he is really skilled (in so many themes, including arts, history, idioms, maths, geography, martial arts, etc) all this comes from his upbringing
- he changed because of him not for the help of outsiders (Dick, Bruce, Steph, Jon, etc) they were of help but the credit is on him, not on them.
- he is arrogant and he can back it up
- he can see his mistakes and will do better next time
- he is kinda suicidal (not in a hurting himself way, in a reckless way)
- he is not attached to Gotham
- he is not that attached to Robin (there're many instances where he just changes his uniform and/or name for doing other things)
- he knows technology, traditions and celebrations. He lived in a super technological cult, not under a rock.
- he knows kid's things, he doesn't feel like a kid and is conditioned to think that "childish" things are not for him nor he can enjoy them (that's why Steph is so important in Damian growth, she helped him to be a kid without treating him as a normal/abnormal kid)
- he can (and will if necessary) use other weapons, he just prefers his swords.
- he has a complicated relationship with his mother, he doesn't hate her.
