level 3: double eye pretty cry. oh it's like cranking both handles of a faucet. but the key thing with the pretty cry is that the face can't change. it's a straight face, a jaw clench, a lip quiver, but no major face contortions because you gotta stay camera-ready. the tears never ever fall at the same time they're always out of sync for maximum drama.

level 4: tears in eyes, full-body cry. there's literally only one example of this and it's 14x19 when he's crying over mary. notice that there's a lot of facial and body movement but the tears do not fall!

level 5: tears shed, full-body cry. double eye cry, no stopping the tears, and it's physical. he can't control his face. he can't hide a thing. for mr. microexpressions this may as well be miming for how exaggerated it is. the only reason he isn't thrashing around at the end like he is in the 14x19 series is because he is physically bracing himself. all his strength is going into keeping himself still. back against the wall, heels against the floor, head in his hands. and still the whole body is involved, you can hear it! this is the ultimate cry. nothing else here is even close.

Miles Morales’ fuck you speech to Miguel had so many deeper layers because one of the storyline is Miles’ parents are basically dealing with the fact that their son is growing up and how he wants to do this awesome things but the movie doesn’t hide away from the fact that growing up Afro Latino and wanting to do amazing things isn’t easy, especially when Miles’ Mom voiced her concern about how she needs miles to protect himself because black and brown people are always told they don’t belong and all that so when Miles told Miguel that he wasn’t going to do his plan and he is Spiderman despite what Miguel says, it is a beautiful metaphor of how black and brown people don’t NEED to belong in a space that don’t want them, They don’t need to listen to the big guy up top because they belong whatever the fuck they want to be at and it is beautiful that Miles stands up to Miguel, the head guy in charge, because it is saying that Black and Brown people have to stand up for themselves against the head guy in charge, especially if they are in your way
