[email protected] BIO. Dan Blackout aka Daniel Earl has been involved with music his entire life. Listening to anything he could & playing guitar & piano with his father from a young age, he then began DJing Hip-hop in 1995 when he was just 14 & then became obsessed with Drum & Bass at the age of 16... & that obsession is still going strong! When Dan left school he immediately enrolled in music college in his home town of Newcastle where he hooked up with Generation Dub (Original Sin & Sub Zero) & began running Newcastle's infamous AREA51 Events. After a few years of running events, DJing and toying with production Dan decided to concentrate all his efforts on producing music and made the move Leicester to join up with friends Original Sin, Sub Zero, Taxman, Jaydan, Supreme Being & DJ SS as he figured this made sense musically & would be the strongest base to work on his music production & engineering skills. Dan's musical influences range from movie soundtracks to 80's electro & pop, rock to hip hop, classical to all area's of dance music & everything else in between. Dan Blackout has recently been signed to Original Sin's Label Image Muzik. His debut release 'Storm (Your Game)' (Featured on Image Muzik's 'We Are Your Friends' LP) has been receiving support from some of Drum & Bass's biggest players including Friction, Crissy Criss & Grooverider & also getting a substantial amount of on-line coverage thanks to Liquicity featuring the track on their YouTube Channel, he has also recently featured as a guest on BBC Radio 1 being interviewed by Friction about current material & future plans. Dan is a songwriter & is currently working on projects with new artists spanning many musical genres. Constantly busy in the studio, Dan is working on new material & collaborations with other artists. Look out for much more to come from Dan Blackout in 2013.
