Levi wasn’t very big on bar scene. He felt it was to loud and rowdy after his long hard days full of deliveries. He much preferred rather quiet evenings at home with a good book to it. His lack of a sex life or a romantic partner was no concern of anyone, especially one Hanji Zoe.
Levi sipped at his cocktail angrily. It was only supposed to be a quiet get-together over couple drinks between old friends. Then why were they in a gay bar? Why was she pointing out every man within arms reach with a devious glint in her eyes? He was going to kill her by the time the night was over, her wife and son be damned.
"Look over there Levi." Hanji said for the nth time that evening as she pointed towards the door. "That one has to be your type. You like tall, blond, and handsome right?"
"Hanji, honestly I think its none of you’re business what my type is…" He sighed, not even bothering to look as her face contorted in some kind realization.
"Hey, Erwin! Over here!" She stood up and shouted over the noisy bar. She waved at the person to come over and in spite of himself, Levi looked over and was surprised by what he saw. Hanji wasn’t kidding when she said tall, blond and handsome. The man’s blond hair was immaculately combed and styled yet Levi thought it looked softer than down. His face was handsomely chiseled with cheek bones sharper than knives and a jaw that could cut diamonds probably. He was dressed nicely too, in a white button up shirt with the sleeves rolled up and a nice pair of black slacks.
Holy hell, Levi thought to himself as he tightened his grip on the lowball glass, this guy looks like lady catnip. What was a guy like that doing in a place like this? Levi turned back to the bar and to his drink to reflect on what he saw as the man came near.
"Erwin!" Hanji smiled when the tall blond and handsome came within speaking distance. "Great to see you here! I didn’t you’d be able to come. I invited old Levi here because of that." She laughed as she slapped the irate Levi on the back.
Erwin was bad at taking advice. Hanji, however, was persistent.
After a few twenty or so quick-fired text messages, complete with friendly accusations and nagging about how "You never go out and get any, Erwin!" and "Use your pretty boy charm while your still young, before your face looks like your boring old man personality!", Erwin found himself alone and confused in probably the most homosexual venue of the country. Or at least he thought.
Perhaps, of course, Hanji's accusations had caused Erwin to react irrationally. Hanji was good at pushing Erwin, and while Erwin was normally ridged and stubborn to his own thoughts, he valued Hanji's opinions and knew she was looking out for him.
That fact did not explain, however, why her address for "going out to get a few drinks" had lead him here.
Alone, uncomfortable, and a slight migraine pounding at head from the music and the crowd of bodies that all seemed to envelop him at once, Erwin found himself hovering over to the bar, and fired two exasperated text messages at Hanji before ordering a drink. Erwin glanced back, scanning the patrons for her, but to no avail.
Twenty minutes Erwin waited, the cool whiskey taking off some of the edge of the situation. It wasn't until a perky voice rose above the crowd that Erwin finally found her; she was waving excitedly, gaining his attention to the other side of the bar. Erwin approached her, relived to find a familiar face.
Erwin paused as he reached her, listening to her speak while eyeing the stranger accompanying her. While he couldn't see most of his face, as he was turned towards the bar, he could trace the outline of irritation etched into his features. Black bangs draped over his frame, eyes cast down at his drink in quiet focus. Conventionally, he wasn't handsome, but there was a certain charm to the droop of his eyes and the thin frame of his face. Pale skin with dark hair, he seemed wispy, almost as though he'd disappear in an instant if Erwin blinked.
Erwin glanced back towards Hanji, but careful to keep an eye at the black haired man, as if looking away would somehow allow him to slink away.
"I can say the same for you." He said, a smile creeping up his lips. "I could have sworn you said to come at eight. It's almost eight thirty." Erwin was careful to keep the pleasantness in his tone, despite his irritation on her tardiness. He had too many questions to ask her, and it was best not to scare her off when she had only just arrived.
He turned back to the blacked haired man, who seemed very keen on staring at his glass. "I'm sorry, you must a friend of Hanji's. It was Levi, correct? I'm Erwin." He said, now having a polite excuse to stare at the mythical creature accompany Hanji.
