God dammit. I’m almost positive I left my hair spray at the hotel when we went skiing, and I’m not ready to pay for a new bottle. That shit is hella expensive.
Sounds terrible, Cole, but how much could you possibly spend on hair spray?

Fuck off, Hunter.
hunter-cooper replied to your post: Rehearsal days are just getting longer and longer....

Hi pretty bitch. Can I help you?
Rehearsal days are just getting longer and longer. It's like they expect us not to sleep.
But hey, I can rock it. xx
The Real World: Hunter Cooper. Yeah, and I’d also like to take a moment to take your advice and roll with it, but we’re all pretty aware that learnin’ shit ain’t really my forte. Haven’t you seen those crazy ER shows on TV? Dude’s stick their dicks in anything — garbage disposals, drain holes, gears. You name it.
If I had time to watch tv, that's a show I'd tune into every now and again. Oh wait, I pretty much live it anyway. The day you actually learn something half the population might die in shock. I'm in the studio 8 hours a day, Coop. When the fuck do you think I have time to sit down and watch tv? Why the fuck would you stick your dick in things like that? That's just asking to get it cut off.
By the way when the fuck are you helping me with my duet? You owe me some dancing, pretty boy.

It took a long while before Colton said something. He was just standing there, leaning against the desk with arms crossed over his chest as he stared at Nadine. Stared, studied, tried to understand. His chest was rising and falling in even breaths, far too calm for this entire situation. It was an unsettling kind of calm, like it was out of place. His mind wasn’t on his own issues or what he was about to tell, instead on the girl next to him. Why did she care so much? Colton had gotten so used to people not caring, not seeing, that it was hard to fathom why they would after so long.
Years of being on the outskirts of the social circle meant he was used to not speaking; he observed. Colton was good at reading people, at noticing things — which is how he noticed the slight movement of Nadine’s voice box in her throat, eyed her slightly parted lips and knew she wasn’t saying something. He would pry but it wasn’t the time. He’d been gazing at her eyes first, flitting down her hair and neck, vision dancing all over as he drank in every detail and not saying a single word. Wetting his own lips as a nervous habit, he reached out to take her wrists softly, like she was a precious ornament made of glass that he shouldn’t be touching and had to treat with upmost care. Tugging her closer until she was almost pressed up against him - the kind of proximity that meant he could feel her breath tickle his throat - he then laced his fingers between the spaces of hers, forcing her right index finger to flick out. Holding up his left arm, whose hand was connected to hers, he pulled her hand over and ran her finger down the long scar. “To understand why I did that, we need to start at the beginning.” He murmured, his deep English accent breaking the silence that was buzzing with a certain energy.
Despite everything - the impending situation, the weakness he was always ashamed of showing - he was smiling. Maybe it wasn’t genuine or all that big, but it was there, quirking up his lips as he stared down at her. This was okay. This felt right. His palms weren’t sweating, his knees weren’t shaking, his heart wasn’t beating erratically. The moment he finally let it all out… this was how it was meant to go. How terrifying, that thought should be, but he’d never felt more at ease.
Trailing to his bed, Colton took a seat on the edge and pulled Nadine with him, letting go of one of her hands in the process. With his free one, he tugged the photo album over and into his lap, nudging it so it was over one of his legs and one of hers, pressing against their still intertwined hands. Flipping it open, Colton bit into his bottom lip, staring at the family picture that was on the first page. The Edwards were at a military base which evident by his fathers uniform. It wasn’t in the section for stationed soldiers, but the families. They were sitting on grass and in the middle of a picnic. Everyone looked happy — everyone but eight year old Colton. “As much as mum denied it, dad was never proud of having me as his son. He wanted someone stronger, I guess fitter, y’know, a proper fighter like him. That wasn’t me.” Turning the page, the photograph in the top left was of him holding a turtle and sitting in sand; in contrast, the next was him looking utterly terrified dressed with protective headgear to being in a shooting range with his dad and another soldier. “Nothing is worse than being uncomfortable in your own skin, I think. And it sucks even more when people notice and make fun of you. It just makes it worse.”
There was obvious hesitation settling into the room and at this point Nadine wasn't really all that sure if it was on Colton's part or hers. She had a feeling that the boy was more relaxed than she was about this whole situation, mainly because it was story and the fact that he was willing to share it with her meant a lot to the girl. Most people didn't open up and delve into their entire lives around her, not even Rose, who had told her enough about her life to make Nadine sometimes wonder why she hadn't grown up like that. Then again, that was a two-way street and Nadine could easily say that she did the same, hiding away the parts of her life that she didn't want to share with people so that she didn't have to go into memories that she didn't feel comfortable sharing. Nadine might have been reflecting her own feelings about discussing the past on the boy that she easily called her best friend, but despite the whole situation, she knew that she wasn't going to turn her back on him or pull away, not when he needed to talk to her about this and wanted to. Nadine wouldn't dare do that to Colton, no matter how uncomfortable she potentially became with the subject.
The tension eased a bit as she felt Colton grab onto her and Nadine sunk into his grip, letting him tug her against him with no complaints and she looked up at Colton, eyes trailing over his face. He seemed so calm about the fact that he was letting her in to see all the deep, dark secrets that she knew had to be hard for him to share. Nadine offered a comforting squeeze to Colton's hand when she felt him lace their fingers together, but it wasn't long before that sense of comfort was lost as she followed the movements that Colton was leading with her eyes, watching as he trailed her index finger over a scar that ran down his arm. Nadine had vaguely recalled seeing it before, not that she ever commented on it or given much thought as to where it had come from. They all had their fair share of dark times, and even if had been self-inflicted, she knew that it wasn't her right to go in asking about things that were personal. She had always hoped that it was just the result of an accident or that something had happened that wasn't down to Colton's own doing, but she now knew that it wasn't the case and the thought made her a little ill as she looked at him, trying to understand what could have gone so wrong in Colton's life that he felt the need to physically hurt himself to try and find a sense of relief. There was so much that she wanted to say right now, but knew that speaking right now would probably be detrimental to the conversation rather than the other way around, so she nodded just sightly, gaze still focused on Colton as his name escaped her lips, almost silently. She didn't know what else to do right now than to listen to his story, even though she knew that she'd rather just curl up with him on his bed and hold him for the rest of the night just to let him know that she'd always be there for him.
Sitting on the bed, pressed against his side didn't feel nearly as comfortable as it usually did, and Nadine knew it was down to the heaviness of the situation, but she didn't dare comment on it as she looked quietly at the pictures in the photo album, listening to him tell her about his story. "That's not right," she finally said after a minute, squeezing his hand tightly in hers before she relaxed, gaze shifting to look at the boy. "It shouldn't matter what you want to be, your parents should never be disappointed in who you are. I mean, you're his son and he should love you just as much, if not more, for the fact that you exist." She bit down on the inside of her cheek as she thought of her own parents; vague memories of a time where she could remember them telling her older siblings that they would love them no matter what happened came to mind and she had to shake away the thoughts before she focused on them. Now wasn't the time for her to get lost in her own past. "It's a terrible feeling, being uncomfortable in your own skin," she whispered, shifting her free hand to gently rub Colton's arm and she hesitated for just a moment before she rested her head on his shoulder. "Being forced to try and become someone your not is hard, but I'm glad you're the person I know now. I can't imagine a different Colton taking your place. It just wouldn't be the same." She knew that saying all of this probably wasn't in her best interest, especially since she could stay silent and listen to the boy's story, but Nadine couldn't help but input her thoughts into the conversation. She just wanted Colton to know how special he was to her and how lucky she was to have such a good friend like him, and that she wouldn't change it for the world.
This isn’t some motherfucking Pre-School activity, ain’t no keywords in life. Oh, but I’ve already considered it and I wish you the very best of luck in that — I’m like a starfish, it’ll just grow back overnight.
Babe, the real world's full of key words. Should probably take a moment to learn that shit. I'd love to see you say that when you're in the ER having to say some bitch cut your dick off because you tried to piss in her mouth. That'll go over real well.
Like I fucking need to get ahold of you, yeah, okay. Say that again sometime, possibly when I’m not too busy drowning out your voice with the imagined moans of my girlfriend. I’m still gonna piss in your mouth, though. ‘Cause that’s what real Gs do.
Imagined being the key word, sweetheart. Hunter, you even consider pissing in my mouth and I will make sure you don't have a dick to fuck your girlfriend with.
Don’t make me piss in your mouth, bitch.
Afraid to show your true colours? You'd have to get ahold of me before you could do that, love, and we both know that's never happening.
On a scale of one to Cole, how gay would I look if I dyed my hair back to my natural color? Gettin’ real tired of this blond bullshit, y’all. Real tired.
By natural colour you mean your out and proud rainbow locks, right?

Yeeah, you interested, babe?
Long as you're not attacking me with ice, bro. Snow, I don't give a fuck about, but ice. No.
Just a heads up, bitches, but there’s a snowball monster out on the loose and he’s makin’ everybody a victim. Keep your friends close, your enemies closer, and watch out for a fuckin’ ball of ice to your head. Boom.
Need a partner? That sounds like a fucking blast.
