'Lack Luster' - Chase Davis Nissen
When it feels like the world is crashing down, it probably is, from atop a mountain, rolling snow down the pinnacle of the slope. The glass-half-empty shattered from the cold as perspective iced over with my hope. I don't mean to mock the pessimist or the cynical; just the antithesis, in fact, to help me cope. Arrogance is bliss when misled by confidence. But life turns me in the wrong direction, often an analogy for morality, being a continence in the cowardice of complexion. Tough love has never been as tough as when love met cessation. Coming on with the optimism too strong for the average person, you've never seen a smile more genuine. Biting all the hands that feed me, I am open with emotions. Still yet bleeding hearts stain the sleeve that they're worn on. Reaching out leads to calloused fingers, blistering red from the teeth. Palms that have been read allow the third eye to see, as sedation slipped through the sleeper; an aqueous cell wall to call my only keeper. Concrete thoughts and concrete shoes sink deeper. No more can I count these sheep for an insomniac's idea of a steady night's sleep. Sooner yet I'm one to count my blessings. The chicken that flew the coop before the eggs were done hatching. Self-aware and wishing to be blessed with ignorance; I'm probably out to lunch or gone fishing. Hooked the line, too soon did I sink her, no longer am I casting doubt. Snowballs become glaciers to gain momentum, slow to the very bottom. In a dream where berries grow in the garden, I've fallen into the drink again. Tonic water, sloe and gin. No deals made with Satan; still yet I've crossed Him. My heart will melt when hell freezes over, smooth as satin. Down and drowning under, thin air thinning with the world's pressure, less water to sputter, I've been trying to get better, but better seems so lack luster. I've been trying to get better, but better seems so lack luster.

The Best Birth Control In The World Is For Men by Jon Clinkenbeard
If I were going to describe the perfect contraceptive, it would go something like this: no babies, no latex, no daily pill to remember, no hormones to interfere with mood or sex drive, no negative health effects whatsoever, and 100 percent effectiveness. The funny thing is, something like that currently exists.
The procedure called RISUG in India (reversible inhibition of sperm under guidance) takes about 15 minutes with a doctor, is effective after about three days, and lasts for 10 or more years…
Oh, and when you do decide you want those babies, it only takes one other injection of water and baking soda to flush out the gel, and within two to three months, you’ve got all your healthy sperm again.
The trouble is, most people don’t even know this exists. And if men only need one super-cheap shot every 10 years or more, that’s not something that gets big pharmaceutical companies all fired up, because they’ll make zero money on it (even if it might have the side benefit of, you know, destroying HIV).

I play drums for the band Foxfield, and just last night we won the semi-final round for Ernie Ball's Battle of the Bands! This is a competition for local and upcoming bands to earn a spot in the upcoming 2014 Vans Warped Tour. Foxfield will be playing at The House of Blues in Anaheim on June 10th. If Foxfield progresses after that performance, I will be seeing you guys at Warped Tour! Come out to the house of blues and check us out, I promise you will have a great time!
"And since we all came from a woman
Got our name from a woman and our game from a woman
I wonder why we take from our women
Why we rape our women, do we hate our women?
I think it’s time to kill for our women
Time to heal our women, be real to our women
And if we don’t we’ll have a race of babies
That will hate the ladies, that make the babies
And since a man can’t make one
He has no right to tell a woman when and where to create one
So will the real men get up
I know you’re fed up ladies, but keep your head up”
- Tupac Shakur
