Look, I know a good number of you are from the US and things aren't amazing there either, but my country is literally on the brink of collapse. So I'd love it if we could talk about that for a minute.
If you can't do anything else, please just read and reblog.
A second COVID wave has taken out the healthcare system. There are no more hospital beds. There's an oxygen shortage. There's a critical vaccine shortage. The Central Government has thrown its hands up and is passing the baton to the State Governments to do what they can.
There are over 16 million covid cases. A record 330,000 new cases reported yesterday - comparable to the US at its peak. 187,000 dead as of today.
There is no plan.
Mass cremations are taking place. The cremation grounds are running day and night and they are short on wood. People are watching their loved ones die while waiting for a hospital bed, and then they're unable to give them the proper burial rights.
Hospitals are overwhelmed. Patients are being confined, two to a bed. They're the lucky ones.
We are on the verge of people dying in the streets.
This is the second-most populous country in the world. The largest democracy. A country that encapsulates over 15,000 years of recorded human history and has endured everything from famine to invasion to colonisation.
We might be at the end. This might be the thing that does us in.
People are dying.
People are dying.
People are dying and there is no plan.
More good news? Variants are popping up. A double mutation strain has shown up. It is resistant to current vaccines. This will not go away. This is the devastation they warned of when the anti-maskers were out protesting the minor inconvenience of covering their face in public.
My country is on the verge of an emergency state. Our government has failed us. This is as dire a situation as it ever could be.
Look. I don't do much with my life. I write fics, some of you have read them and that's pretty much it. I spend my days with my head in the clouds because that's where I like to be.
But two days ago, my grandmother tested positive, had to be taken to hospital and the ambulance caught fire.
She barely made it to the urgent care she needs.
So, here I am, using whatever meager platform I have to cobble this request together. Because I have to do something.
On December 4th, 2020, Casey Christian Goodson Jr. (23 years old) was shot three times in the back and murdered by a Sheriff’s Deputy as he was entering his home in Columbus, Ohio. Goodson’s family stated that he was returning home from a dentist appointment, holding a Subway sandwich, his face mask, and his keys, when he was shot.
Two days later, the Columbus Police Department made a statement alleging that James Meade, the deputy responsible for Goodson’s death, saw a man believed to be Goodson with a gun while driving. Meade then approached Goodson after he exited his car and walked home, where he was shot.
Hours after the shooting, the US Marshal for the Southern District of Ohio, Peter Tobin, confirmed that Goodson was not the fugitive they were searching for. However, Tobin also added that he believed that the shooting was justified, claiming that Goodson was shot after he refused to drop his “weapon.”
Yet another Black man murdered by the police.
DEMAND JUSTICE.

with all that 2020 has been, i think it was the perfect year for got7 to release last piece.
just think; all the performances without an audience, the restrictions on idol x fan interaction, even the protesting from aghase for better treatment for the members...
i feel like this song is not only a statement that seven makes one team, but also that despite all that has happened, got7 needs aghase and aghase needs got7, and i love them for that.
to my friends in red states, please stay safe and watch out for each other. stay inside and avoid going out if you don’t need to. not to stir up fear in the wake of victory, but there are numerous watchdog organizations warning people — especially black and trans folks — to expect a sharp uptick in violence and tension. the naacp has issued a warning to black people in missouri to STAY INSIDE, STAY TOGETHER, STAY SAFE. check on your friends. stay informed. if you aren’t following them already, check out the naacp website and watchdog organizations to keep an eye on things in your area.
to white folks, this is a time for you to celebrate as well, but things are far from over. reach out to your poc and trans friends, particularly your black and trans friends, and check on them and make sure they feel safe. DO NOT STOP DONATING TO PAYPALS AND GOFUNDMES. CONTINUE SHARING RESOURCES AND INFORMATION. CONTINUE PARTICIPATING IN COMMUNITY AID. electing biden did not simultaneously wipe out the issues many marginalized communities are facing. YOUR PART IN THIS IS NOT OVER BECAUSE THIS FIGHT IS NOT OVER. continue spreading
to succinctly sum up the energy we need to cultivate going forward:
you can reblog this. white people can and should reblog this. likes do nothing for us.
yugyeom + suit cause these pictures got me feeling super soft
He looks so cute 🥰🥺
drabble game
“How’s my suit?” Yugyeom asked, turning around for you. He wore a black shirt, jacket and matching pants. “Does everything look okay?”
Giving him a quick inspection, you realized what was missing, “No tie?”
“Oh.” Yugyeom scratched the back of his neck before sheepishly admitting, “I don’t know how to tie one.”
Laughing, you signaled for him to come closer, “I can do it. I did my dad’s tie before he had to go the office all the time. But first change the turtleneck to a collar shirt”
Quickly taking off his jacket and then his shirt, Yugyeom pulled on a black collared shirt, doing the buttons quickly. He then walked to his dresser and picked a tie. Yugyeom brought it to your hands before standing in front of you.
“Hold on, I need to be higher up.” You reached down to bring a stool for you to climb on. Standing on it, you smiled, “hey look! I’m taller than you,”
Rolling his eyes, Yugyeom suppressed a laugh. “Okay I get it, can you please tie it now?”
You threw the tie around his neck and began to work. Yugyeom watched as you concentrated, brushing stray hairs out of your face to help ease your job.
Quickly finishing, you dusted his jacket on his shoulders. “Okay you’re done.”
Kissing your cheek, Yugyeom squeezed your hand “thank you baby.”
You blushed, not expecting such an affectionate thank you, “Of course, now hurry up, or you’ll be late!”
This is the final drabble of the drabble game! Thank you to everyone who participated and sent in requests, I hope you enjoyed the drabbles!
deactivated my fic account,, i’m contemplating on getting back into writing; perhaps i’ll use this account as an all rounded fic & fandom account but i’m still unsure
