I'm not even kidding it's so clear that everyone sees black people and especially black women as some sort of alternate species. I'm getting into doll collection & customization videos because I've been getting into collecting myself and toys and art are supposed to bring me happiness and even there I can't escape the anti blackness. Like... you're lucky if you find a character or doll that's consistently brown skinned and carefully designed in popular brands. Collectors will always favor light skin or fantasy colors anyways. I had to watch a white creator call a custom Garnet doll "dummy thicc" and describe her in progress proportions as "female rappery" why couldn't just have said curvy? You're not funny or cool and I'm very tired

Like sure he admires Uma but putting a spell on him/Ben, he still hates that. "I'm already ticked off that I'm supposed to be here with Mal, but this is just insulting."

(Though Jamie would totally be happy to be here with Uma even without the spell, for the record.)

Jamie wants to let dragon!Mal and Sea Witch!Uma battle it out because he's rooting for Uma and correctly perceives that Mal's absolutely useless.

However, he lets Ben have his moment to make the "we have to listen to each other" speech because finally you're paying attention to the situation!!!!!!!

Wait wait wait

If Jamie's immune to Mal's love spell do you think he's also immune to whatever spell Uma used?

She has no clue he exists until she's successful in spelling Ben only a moment later it seems like he's completely back in control of himself and looking supremely unimpressed with her.

"Look, I've admired everything you've done up until you pulled that. Mal beat you to it. Don't you have anything else... cleverer?"

...alternatively, while he steps into control after Ben is spelled, Jamie still does absolutely nothing to indicate to her that her plot is failing, continuing to act spelled because 1) he genuinely likes Uma, and 2) he wants to see the look on Mal's face when he shows up with Uma.

He does break the act when Uma expects him to take down the barrier over the Isle of the Lost. Because while he understands her motives, he's also very aware of all the still-evil, vengeful, and very dangerous villains on that island.

#...i wonder if jamie is/was scared of the isle of the lost when he and ben were both young #because jamie was aware that he was meant to be a 'villain' and therefore deserved the isle #ben has been working on that fear with him for a while so actually going to the isle in d2 is a big step for jamie

Jamie: "I'm sorry, have you lost our mind?!"

Arrival on the Isle / "Chillin' Like a Villain" is actually so funny to think about in this version, bc instead of floundering completely, once Ben realizes "oh yeah I suck that this VK act" he's then like "Jamie, you take over"

Jamie: "I beg your pardon. Did you just tell me to take over???"

Ben: "Do you have better ideas?"

Jamie: "...No. Move over, I'm driving."

And Evie, Jay, and Carlos are completely baffled as they see "Ben" switch instantly from kind, naive and inept to competent, sly and actually very mean. They have no clue what's going on and they're not sure they like the change very much at all.

Jamie still lets Ben take control again for the conversation with Mal, bc Jamie has no interest in reconciling with her, but when Ben retreats from the loft and walks off down the alley, he's so distraught that he doesn't even pay attention when Jamie gets control again. Which is good, because about .5 seconds later, Harry and several pirates attack him.

Did I mention that Jamie is a vicious fighter? Bc Jamie is absolutely ferocious and stole at least one knife (probably multiple) from some other folks on the Isle, so he's armed and ready to take out his anger on anyone who tries him :)

Jamie wants to stay in control while captive on the pirate ship, but Ben figures out that his hostility won't help the situation, and takes over to try and talk to Uma and her crew.

Uma, watching Ben switch instantly from sneering and seething to apologizing politely, is baffled. Of course she figures that they teach the kids manners over in Auradon; but a couple seconds ago he looked like he wanted to rip Harry's throat out, before suddenly acting all respectful and diplomatic.

Despite his hatred, Jamie still holds some level of respect for Uma, Harry, and the rest of the pirates. They put up a good fight. He can admire that. He sure doesn't care for them keeping him and Ben captive - especially for any kind of plan that relies on Mal - but hey, this is still the most exciting twist in this situation thus far.

In "It's Goin' Down," however, instead of running (or whatever Ben is doing), Jamie takes control again and relishes the rematch with several of the pirates, easily holding his own and having to be pulled away by Jay and Lonnie because he's having so much fun fighting.

Thanks to the Lilo and Stitch reference in the latest Descendants Chibi short with Audrey and the Queen of Mean, I can perfectly imagine the following exchange between Ben and Jamie:

So I just realized that since I decided that LFTS!Lia is Star from Wish - doesn’t that mean that in Stars on Earth, then Wish could never have happened? Star couldn’t answer Asha’s wish because Star/Lia was on the Isle of the Lost?

Well fear not because I actually have an answer! That actually fairly well answers a question that I myself had about Stars on Earth.

In Stars on Earth, Lia and Star were “born” as separate beings - as opposed to LFTS, where they’re one and the same. They were always meant to be the same, but for some reason they couldn’t be one in the beginning. Star was Etherial, and Lia seemed human. So Lia gets to be raised by her father while Star still resides in the Etherium with Ayesha.

Lia ends up on the island. Star still answers Asha’s wish and they free Rosas from Magnifico. But after Lia leaves the island, when she makes the same wish as Asha, Star answers her in a very different way.

Star and Lia are unified, becoming the complete one being they were always meant to be. This gives Lia her powers, finally, and now she can help Auradon just like Star helped Rosas - and more!

if they ever make another pirates of the caribbean, it should be about the flying dutchmen and her crew 200 years later. it’s a cursed ship with an undying crew that ferry lost souls. they ignore #4 in canon and will turner is still the captain, but because of the long years of service and the mortality of his family he’s jaded and tired. he hasn’t been using his one day on land for decades, and when he finally decided to go to port he’s like “what the actual fuck” bc it’s 1990 & there’s modern technology and cars and ppl assume he’s a street performer bc he’s dressed like a fucking pirate. the original cast is there as well bc reincarnation or something lmao
