"I think our daughter wants to go on a walk," he said. Through the kitchen window, their ball of energy could be seen bouncing at the edge of the path. "Why don't you take her? I have to finish inventory for the shop."
Mathias gave his love a playful frown and stuck his lower lip out in a pout. “But we’ll be all by our lonesome. We’ll miss you.”
“You have each other.” Lukas kissed his cheek as he made his way past Mathias to put the kettle on. “I’ll be here when you return.” What he kept to himself was exactly what Mathias would be returning too, Lukas had quite the plan and just enough time to pull it off.
Mathias shrugged. “You’d better. Otherwise I’d be a very sad dad. And that would yield a very sad daughter. And then the whole world would just be sad and no birds would fly and the sun would never shine again.” Yes the overdramatic antics were entirely necessary.
