His words are quiet like stains are On a table cloth washed in a river
happy birthday to a blessingâą, aph norway
"I think our daughter wants to go on a walk," he said. Through the kitchen window, their ball of energy could be seen bouncing at the edge of the path. "Why don't you take her? I have to finish inventory for the shop."
Mathias gave his love a playful frown and stuck his lower lip out in a pout. âBut weâll be all by our lonesome. Weâll miss you.â
âYou have each other.â Lukas kissed his cheek as he made his way past Mathias to put the kettle on. âIâll be here when you return.â What he kept to himself was exactly what Mathias would be returning too, Lukas had quite the plan and just enough time to pull it off.Â
"You're so cute, you made me forget my pickup line!"
The sound of the familiar voice was welcome, if somewhat earlier than heâd expected his partner to be home. He turned, and rewarded the sweet words with a short, but tender, kiss. âYou feel you still have to use them? Weâre raising a child together, you donât need to break the ice. Speaking of,âÂ
In a split second his face became stony. âYour daughter broke two of my pots and almost drowned one of my succulents,â as he spoke he put his hands on his hips in mock annoyance but it wasnât long before his face softened.Â
âBut, she really enjoyed her day as my assistant, and she seems to have tired herself out.â He cast a glance to where the mischievous child had plonked herself down on the couch and promptly fallen into a deep sleep, snuggled under her favourite blankie.Â
Lukas stopped to pick up a colourful plush lion from the floor, lest she wake in the dark and have nothing for comfort against the strangely shaped shadows of her furniture. Then he joined his small family in their daughterâs room.Â
The favourite toy was carefully slipped under the covers beside her, a friend to fight off bad dreams. âSweet dreams, skatten min,â he leaned down to give her a loving kiss on the forehead.Â
Mathias followed suit, pressing a tender kiss of his own on her forehead. âMay the gods watch over you and grant you nothing but sweet dreams.â He cooed this mantra to her every night, finding as much comfort in it himself as he hoped it gave her. Warm blue eyes regarded his daughter and his partner. âIâm so lucky,â he whispered to the air.Â

Tulip Week (extended!) - a great plant combination of probably Tulipa âBrown Sugarâ, the blue flowers of Myosotis (forget-me-not) and what I suspect is a variegated member of the brassica group. This type of imaginative plant association is typical of Great Dixter Garden, Sussex, U.K.

Tulip Week - a great display for tulip admirers at Pashley Manor, East Sussex, with flowers in vases in the marquee for detailed viewing and in the borders for appreciating their impact in the garden. It was great to be able to compare a range of white flowered cultivars.

Plant of the Day Saturday 22 April 2017
The upright, deciduous shrub Staphylea colchica (bladdernut) has been flowering for a month with small, white, fragrant, bell-shaped flowers in hanging clusters. In the summer there will be large, greenish-white, inflated fruit. This plant is easy to grow in any moist, well-drained soil in sun or semi-shade. I had a pink cultivar as âPlant of the Dayâ on Sunday 26 March 2017 so that indicates how long they can be flowering.

âCan I help you with anything?â Lukas asked, emerging from the back room with more bags of ginger tea. Â In the middle of cold season it was a favourite for relieving sore throats, and he found it difficult to keep on shelf.Â
Hi, mister!
At the sound of her voice, he raised his head and turned to look at the child from where he was tending to the small garden adjacent to the house. Lukas couldnât explain why, although it was mid-winter, all three kinds of flower heâd planted were in full bloom. In any case, the small girl would surely love one.Â
âHello, would you like a flower?â Absently he wondered if the girl was too old to make a good friend for Orla. But perhaps it would be good for her to have an older friend looking out for her.Â
She gasped. Flowers were in bloom? But it would be snowing soon. âDo you think I could have that yellow one? I donât want it to die, thoughâŠâ She frowned worrying over the flower.
Lukas used the gardening scissors to carefully snip the flower from the bush, he left enough of a stem to reach water even in a tall vase.Â
âFlowers can only bloom for a short time. But, if you keep it in water, you'll have week to enjoy it,â he said, as he held it out to the girl.
I saw you needed drawing ideas? So what about aph Norway? (Dennor if you're feeling jazzy ;0 )
i wouldnât say jazzy but ye iâm up for it ;0

The British native Carpinus betulus (hornbeam) here is part of a coppiced woodland. This potentially large deciduous tree is being cut back to near the ground on a rotation to produce thinner timber rather than one major trunk. The new spring leaves were like green stained glass in the sunshine and in the undergrowth patches Anemone nemorosa (wood anemone, wood windflower) were growing in moist, humus-rich woodland soil while in the summer, when dormant, the Anemone will tolerate drier conditions.

A sweeping display of Brunnera macrophylla âJack Frostâ (Siberian bugloss) with blue sprays of flowers held above large, heart-shaped silver leaves edged and veined with green. This herbaceous perennial grows best in moderately fertile, humus-rich soil that is moist but well-drained, with a cool site in full or partial shade.
