Would you mind catching me up to speed with what’s been going on with Ghost and our new Papa? I took a break from the band after Impera but seems like a LOT happened between 2023 and now!
-Copia was promoted (or demoted, depending on who you ask) to the role of Frater Imperator
-Papa V Perpetua is Copia's long-lost twin brother
-Copia dislikes him with a passion, going so far as to ban V neck shirts in the church and pull the V keycaps off keyboards. He also accused Perpetua of being a shitty imitator, copying all his moves
-Mister Psaltarian- who it turns out raised Copia, with his wife Marika... Marika being Papa Nihil's sister... adores Perpetua, praising him on a video call with Copia, just doing that classic "Dad Very Clearly Has A Favourite Child" shit at Copia.
-Perpetua and Copia have not met in person. They *might* get to December 2026 (that's a time Psalty said Perpetua won't be busy) (Psalty is acting as Perpetua's tour manager it seems)
-Perpetua wears a half-mask and no one knows why. Personally me, judging by how the Nameless Ghouls now bear a grucifix branded into their faces over their left eyes (and if you bought a mask on tour, the tag labelled them "burned ghoul" masks) makes me think he was branded or otherwise burned or disfigured in a similar fashion.
-There is a lot of hubbub about Perpetua possibly being a vampire due to his apparent inability to enter the church (no invitation!) and the video for the song "Lachryma," in which he wears wings and, in one shot, sports a blood-filled mouth...
-The nameless ghouls seem to not respect Perpetua. On stage he will gesture for them to move and they will shake their heads and point to him to move. They don't see him as their boss, it seems to me.
-Perpetua's personality is still up in the air- at some shows he's downright shy, at others he moans and talks about his nipples... It's like he's trying to figure that out for himself.
