Name: Dante Kidd
Pronouns: Him/He
Age: 29 years old
Birthdate: June 12, 1994
Place of Birth: Nightrest, Salem
Occupation: Musician/Songwriter
Sexuality: Pansexual
Dante had been born to parents who cared nothing about him. His mother and father had been drug addicts who had him more for the money they could get from the government and not exactly because they wanted a child. He learned from a very young age to look after himself in ways that no five year old should. That lifestyle did not last long though as when he turned six his parents had overdosed with him in the house. It took a total of two days for anybody to become aware of the situation and call the police as Dante had seen them passed out so often that he had simply assume that they were asleep.
His grandparents took a hold of his guardianship from then on, and to say that it had been a blessing in disguise was an understatement. Living with them had changed Dante's life so much that he was able to finally act like a child his age should. He was able to hang out with friends form school, and his other cousins whom his parents had never let him be around. Dante excelled at everything that he put his mind to through out his high school experience, ending up as the valedictorian for his graduation class.
By his high school graduation, Dante couple play six instruments and he practiced long and hard enough to have gotten a full scholarship to Berklee College of Music where he excelled and was offered multiple positions on different orchestras around the country. Although he began by playing the piano at professional theater performances, Dante would soon attend an open mic night out in LA where he performed one of his own songs on guitar and the audience loved him.
With this new found joy in his life, Dante took to performing at different functions and events gathering a good following of supporters who traveled with him from state to state. It wasn't until three years ago when his grandmother passed away that he decided to come back home so he could take care of his grandfather. For the past three years he has continued to perform at different local spots, but nothing as thrilling as his previous life. On the side he also writes music which he sells to record labels and uses that money to help evolve and renovate historical places throughout the town.
Kaia. . . his thoughts coming through despite the heaviness and waves of pain on his head. His child. . . would she ever know who he was? He got so little time with her, and now it would all be done. He wouldn't see her grow, wouldn't see her ride her first bike, go to her first school dance, wouldn't be there ever again. . . he hopes she knows that he loves her unlike anything else. That he would have given anything and everything in life to have seen her born. To have held her against his chest and felt the tight hold of her baby fingers around his.
Arabella. From the first moment he'd seen her Dante knew he wanted no one else but her. Knew he wanted to marry her. Give her everything that she deserved out of life. He'd run home to his mama and talk about her for hours. Like a loved drunk puppy. To this day, he couldn't get her out of his head. Out of his heart. He loves her. It didn't matter all the pain he endured being with her, then watching her with another, his heart knew no bounds. He yearned for her still. Loving her til his last breath.
Greyson. Throughout all of his life he's been there for him. As annoying and loving as Dante always was, Grey never made him feel unwanted or different. He didn't have brother's or sisters', but he's always had Grey and that was enough for him. It was due to him that Dante became more social around people. He had been such a quiet kid for most of his life, and his cousin never let him stay behind. Never let him sulk or bury himself into his music and forget about the rest of the world. There was no way to describe the gratitude and love that he felt for his brother. Because no matter who their parents were, Greyson would always be his brother.
KP. Despite only having met them in his late teens and not entirely liking them at the time, Dante was grateful that he took the time to get to know them. Originally, he didn't want to so that Greyson wouldn't be angry at him. He knew the effect that KP had on Grey, and that alone was enough to make Dante step away. But over the years his relationship with KP grew. He became more comfortable accepting them into his family despite what felt like endless fights between Grey and them.
Sawyer. Another person that despite now being his sibling had always felt like it. There was no way to describe his love for her without sounding like a mad man. Ever since the two were younger he'd watch her go through life and somehow always seemed to tumble. The only thing was that he was always there at the bottom waiting to rise her back up. Ready to wipe away all signs of struggle, and show her that love could and could heal anything. She would forever be a part of him. Her presence engraved into his soul.
Papa. . .
Earlier that night. . .
Dante yelled a goodbye to Arabella on his way out her home. âDonât forget to lock the door.â He said before closing the door behind him. He had spent a couple of hours over playing with Kaia, reading her a bedtime story before making his exit. Over the past couple weeks, heâs been switching between calling her over the tablet to say goodnight to coming over and reading her a story. He didnât want to impose too much on Bellaâs home, specially when Zekai was more often than not always there. It was uncomfortable to witness, and even more awkward feeling like he had to sneak out just to avoid passing a couple words. It was as heâd said before- he didnât harbor any ill feelings towards the dude, but also didnât care to entertain pointless communication either.Â
Dante was really kicking himself in the ass now for having opted out of taking his car. The day had been beautiful, so he figured why not just walk on over to Bellaâs, but the air had turned a bit chilly since heâs last been outside. Dante hurried down the street trying to measure the fastest way to mamaâs. He had avoided having dinner so he could spend a bit longer with his Jellybean, and now he was paying for it. Ugh, he brought his hands down to his stomach as his intestines screamed at him.Â
Pulling out his cellphone, Dante sent Lucia a quick text.
D: Been missing you, love. I'm heading to mama's if you want to stop by and have a shake with me.
After the whole situation with Sawyer, Dante had taken a step back from bombarding his friends with too much of him. He understood that he loved a little too much, and that he sometimes failed to see when he needed to step back, so he's been working on that. Giving them the time, and space that he believes they need. It's why he hadn't really been around Sawyer lately, or even Lucia despite how similar the two were emotionally. Instead, he had chosen to spend most of his time between his child, his music, and Adee. Speaking of. . .
D: Can't wait to see you tomorrow. I got a surprise for you.
Over the past few weeks, Dante had been talking to Adee almost religiously. He knew it was selfish to run into something when his heart still needed mending, but she knew about it all. She didn't seem to worry, and didn't even bring it up so it felt good. Almost as if the two just met and were still getting to know one another. It was fun, and exciting something he hasn't really felt in years if he was honest. Yeah he had many of girlfriends, but his mind had never really been in it. This time he planned dates, and brought her flowers, and sent goodnight and good morning texts like some high-schoolers.
They weren't too different, the two of them. Both wore their hearts on their sleeves. He wore his for Bella, whereas Adee seemed to wear it for anyone willing to have it. Not that it was wrong, and he didn't think her less for it, she just seemed to be looking for someone to love her and be accepting of her love in return. . .
What the fuck happened? Dante's head was pounding, his body limp as if he couldn't move from the spot he laid on the ground. Was he being jumped? He tried his best to turn his head, or even lift an arm but there was almost no movement reaction from his body. "Bro, just take the wallet." he wanted to say to them. He could hear their whispers not far as if they were wondering what to do with him. As if someone was trying to figure something out. "Yo!" Dante finally was able to make out but it didn't seem to alert anyone. . . just as quick though he blacked out.
At some point he woke up again, still unable to fully open his eyes or see anything for that matter. Bringing his hand up to his forehead, Dante could feel a liquid on his fingers. But it wasn't raining. Was it? Slowly his breathing became panicked, and he started to feel all the sore-spots throughout his body. Was he cut? He felt pain on his arms, his shoulders, his head, his cheek. Blood trailing down his face almost comically after he began to panic, and he curled into himself. The air was so cold, and his stomach was empty. It was ironic really.
If anybody asked Dante what was the worst day of his life he wouldn't have had to think twice. His mind immediately traveling to that night his parents passed and the two days he laid with them. Their bodies pressed up against the cold ground, and a little boy Dante hanging onto their stiffness to warm them up. I'm so hungry he would say to his deceased mother, but she didn't move. He remembered tugging at them, and pulling only to be met with silence. They never responded. Never talked. . . just laid there. His young mind immediately thinking he had done something wrong, he'd made his bed that first day. He had gotten up, made himself breakfast that consisted of watery oats, and even cleaned up after himself. Not good enough though. He couldn't reach all the spots.
Dante had spent days going through everything that they had. Had spent hours looking, and cleaning, and putting away his toys. He didn't want to be in trouble anymore. "Please mommy, I'm sorry." He would shout at the top of his lungs. He had done so much. He didn't know what else to do. What else to clean. Where to get more food. The fridge was empty now. . . there was nothing for him to eat. He was so hungry. So thirsty. . . All he could do was beg and hold onto them. "I'll be good, I promise" he's say to them over and over again. Taking turns between them, hoping his dad would respond. "Daddy, I'm so sorry." he cried, with no response. "I can take out the trash again." He'd forgotten to once. Too busy playing with his toys. "I'll take it out, and then it won't smell in here anymore." Not truly grasping the stench that circled the air wasn't due to the trash.
He had never wondered how he would die. When, or even where it would take place. Dante didn't really know where he was anymore. He had been walking to mama's at some point, but time was also stretched out in his head. The pain didn't let him put two and two together so who knew how long it's been since he left Bella's home. How long has it been since he sent those text messaged, or if he ever got a reply back. He lost consciousness once more. . . but it didn't last long. He felt his torso jolt up as a sharp pain entered his chest. Pain traveling down his body but he couldn't do anything. Both his body and mind in shock, it was as if he'd detached. He knew what was happening, but he couldn't feel any of it. His eyes opened wide but all he saw were the stars, his breathing becoming lighter and more silent.
Sawyer smiles wide, allowing him to place her back down. She pulls her hands away from him, shoving them into her pockets. Her smile fades at his words, knowing deep down he was only teasing but she couldn't help but wonder if there was some truth behind it. Honestly, a part of her was still trying to pick apart his reaction to the entire ordeal of her life when he was living that rockstar life... when the woman he has a child with was someone she used to smoke with. She presses her lips together, forcing the smile back on her features as she nudges him gently. "Please." She chuckles. "As if I could ever replace you."
He noticed her falter, but he learned better than to question. "I hope not." He continued to joke with her, "I don't think I could find anyone as beautiful, smart, charming, and genuine as you to take your place. You're a one in a lifetime for me, pretty girl." He grinned at her, ordering himself a shot of tequila to start his night off right, and turned to her to see what she wanted. Once both their orders were in he turned back to her, "So what has your night been looking like? Where have you been?"
âOh yeah?â He tilted his head looking at her for a sec. It felt as though despite the two knowing each other for practically most their lives there were many layers to Adella. âIâll hold you to that. I love all seafood as well. I think that the only thing I wasnât a fan of was eel, and thatâs only cause the first and only time I tried it, it was slimy.â He made a disgusted face just thinking about the texture. âDonât mention it. It was a given no?â He smirked at her for a moment before continuing, âI wouldnât have wanted it any other way, so I should be thanking you for agreeing.â Heâs been with many a girls, whether dating or not, but always pushed aside all thoughts of it ever going anywhere with them. His mind and heart had always known where they belonged, and he honestly knew that it wouldnât change for a long time, but he was ready to open up to the possibility for new perspective. Dante bit his lip to keep from grinning like a fool at her blush, âDonât be shy. A little blush never hurt nobody.â He laughed along with her, thanking the person whoâd delivered their food, âIâll show you.â He reached for a rib with his hands and took a bite, âThereâs no ladylike way of eating ribs. If it ainât with your fingers itâs a crime. And you got to lick your fingers after, or youâre not entirely done.â He demonstrated with his own, grinning at her. âYeah, I got some blankets in the car, we can set up somewhere on the beach. Hopefully itâs not too over crowded.âÂ
âEw, slimy eel,â Adee said, making a face. âOh? Was it a given?â She asked, a small, shy smile forming on her lips. The pair had been seeing each other ever since her birthday, but they hadnât really talked about what they were, nor did she think it was the right time to, because of everything else that has happened. A small, nagging part of her was asking herself whether there was ever going to be the right time, though, but Adee pushed that voice to the back of her head as she enjoyed eating the ribs, thankfully not spilling any of the sauce on her outfit. âThank God bibs were invented, huh?â She said, letting out a light laugh as soon as she was finished washing her hands and cleaning up. âYou know my parents used to own this big boat?â Adee murmured, a small, nostalgic smile on her lips as she started walking towards the beach. âI partied sometimes but was still considered âresponsibleâ by their standards so they let me host parties on it sometimes. They didnât need to know just how wild those parties actually were,â she said with a soft giggle. âYou must have a ton of those, huh? Wild rockstar party stories?âÂ

Dante was more than entertained as the two finished their food and drink, heading on over towards the beach where the the crowd wasnât as heavy as the amphitheater. Heâd chosen to take off his shoes, holding them on one hand while he reached to grab her hand with the other. âDid they?â He encouraged her to keep on, turning to face her slightly while still maintaining their course, âWhere would your parents go while the party was going? I could only imagine you running around trying to clean all the mess up before they show up.â His grandparents had never given him any lip over partying or anything really, but he could imagine itâd be harder for a girl to get away with certain things, specially back in the day. âI actually was always the boring one.â He couldnât help but laugh as he remembered, âDonât get me wrong I did go party often, but itâs difficult to party when touring because everything always somehow gets out of control. People start bringing in drugs, and things that donât need to be there. So I would always either end up leaving early, or not show up til last minute.â He didnât have anything against the people who did drugs, but if he could step away from it all he would. It only seemed to bring bad memories to him. âAdd on to the fact that itâs more often than not taking place in a hotel.âÂ
"Uh, no! Pack your bags and leave me? No, no." She tuts, shaking her head and moving to wrap her arms around his waist like she's about to keep him stuck next to her before she grins, pulling away after a few seconds. "I'm serious though, you were great up there. It did seem like you were in your element," she agrees, moving to ask the bartender for two tequila shots. "So that means you're enjoying your time at this festival, right?" She takes a shot glass once the bartender places them in front of them, waiting for Dante to reach for his so they can down the shots together.
He laughed bringing his arms around her once more, âThen I guess you better start packing,â he joked, turning towards the bar once theyâd let each-other go. If he ever did take another go heâd for sure drag her along. There had never been someone so entertaining to him and a bigger hype woman like her. âThank you, Lucia. I think I enjoyed it way too much.â He brought his arms up for her to see, âI swear I still have goosebumps!â The entire show has turned into something he wouldnât forget for a long time. Loving every second of it and now he couldnât wait to watch his cousin killing it the rest of the night. Grabbing his shot he clung against hers before taking the shot, quickly reaching for a piece of lime to help with the burning. âWhat about you? How many hearts have you broken today? Because you look amazing.â
âIâm just messing, you wonât have to fuck up anyone today.â He laughed, knowing well that she wouldnât be held back if she tried. Firecracker that she was. âI could, but I was never a fan of touring. I would take the performance any day, specially if itâs like this close to home.â He also had Kaia to think about now. Bellaâs words ringing in his ear of how he already left her only days after meeting her. The words had stung cause he hadnât even thought of it like that. He had gone for a few days, but didnât miss a single between them while he was out. Heâd never leave her again. âMusic will always be a part of me, even if not in the way it used to be. Iâm okay with that.â He shrugged, switching the subject. âBesides whoâs going to be around to mess with you if I go anywhere, huh? You get one show and already youâre trying to send me off? Trying to get Grey all to yourself?â
âThe nightâs still young,â Fey mused with a frown before nodding her head. She had never been the type of person who always had a clear picture of what she wanted for her future. If anything, this year was the first time she felt like she actually found what she was born to do, but she was glad to see it on other people because it gave her a rare chance to be supportive. Fey has always kept her circle tight so chances to be so openly supportive are few and far in between. âYeah, I donât like to share,â she sarcastically said before rolling her eyes as she smiled. âSpeaking of significant others,â Fey started to say as she raised an eyebrow. âWhatâs this I hear you got yourself a date? The one day you get to be a rockstar again and instead of having the fun you deserve, you decided today was the day to make an honest man out of yourself? Why?â Â

Dante rolled her eyes at her laughing and shaking his head. âWhatever do you mean?â He smirked, raising an eyebrow right back at her but he wasnât hiding anything. Despite having only been seeing her a couple of weeks, they had spent enough time out in public that it felt comfortable to be near her around friends. âWhat kind of fun should I be having?â Dante couldnât help his chuckle, âIâm pretty sure there wonât be a drastic difference at the end of the day. No?â Regardless of whether he flirted with one or two maybe even three girls that night heâd still be going home with just one. Why not make that one someone heâd actually care to wake up next to? âI like Adee. Sheâs been refreshing. If that makes any sense what so ever. â Heâs always been certain of what he wanted in his life so having this change of pace felt dangerously alluring.
âyou, nervous?â she didnât think dante would get nervous. not when she thought that he loved performing in front of people. Â "i didnât think you would honestly get nervous.â she said before she playfully nudged his arm. Â "oh no. iâm avoiding most of the crazy people here.â the last thing she needed was for anyone like that to ruin her day there.
âI wouldnât exactly say nervous, but more excitement.â He smiled as he spoke, âI love the atmosphere, but up there itâs simply the music and I. I donât really notice the people until the songs are over.â It was another reason why he hadnât minded ending his career so abruptly. His love was in the music. Not the love he could get from the people. âWell I didnât see any panties flying on the stage so I guess theyâre not drunk enough yet.â He joked grinning at her.Â
She shot Dante a look before smacking his high-five as hard as she possibly could. "You're lucky you played a really awesome set tonight," she retorted, "or you'd be getting a lot more than a slap!" At his words, she grinned, twirling a bit. "Thank you! So do you." Sarah glanced over her shoulder. "I was just heading out to grab some food before the next stage. Wanna come with?"
"It's all fun and games, no worries!" Dante grinned at her. There was never a time where he couldn't find something to bug her over. "I would love to. I'm actually about ready to starve." He would have grabbed something earlier to eat, but with all the energy and the nerves he was scared of what might actually happen if he did. "I had to snack on some fried in between performance." He fell into step besides her, "Tell me how's the floor been? Anything crazy happened yet?"
Grey was on cloud nine, everyone around him was having fun and his mind was clear of all the bullshit thatâs been happening, and he also got to watch his cousin preform again, something heâs always loved doing. He turned to face him, a big grin appearing on his face. âThe man of the hour!â he exclaimed, giving him a quick hug and few pats on the back, âyou were awesome up there, D. We definitely have to get a drink.â Once at the bar Grey ordered drinks for both of them, then he returned his attention to him, âso how was at back on stage and all?â
"My man!" Dante brought his arms around him and he grinned. This was definitely their scene. Their shining moment and he couldn't be more happy. "Thank you. It's surreal up there, I cannot wait til you start. The crowd is eating." He said, walking besides him to the bar. "I will not lie to you, Grey. It felt fantastic. I knew I would love it all, but I didn't expect to crave the energy like this." He ordered himself a Corona to start off, "Got me thinking of looking for small gigs around here at least for the summer time. Do you need help setting anything up before you go on?"
She crossed her arms over her chest, focusing her eyes on the ground as she lightly kicked a small rock, watching it move like it was the most interesting thing in the world. She sighed, her eyes moving back on his. âSounds like fun, Iâm sure everyoneâs excited to hear you,â there was no point of trying to be anything but nice, especially when there were way too many people around them and none of them needed to know more than how awkward this conversation is. âThanks, I guess⊠you look good too.â
âYeah, the crowd seems pretty lively too. It should be a good time.â He nodded as he spoke, much unsure of what to say to the other. Dante scratched at the back of his head as they stood in mostly silence offering her a thanks at the complement. âUm, do you wanna grab a drink or something?â He asked out of politeness, as well as to fill their awkward interaction, âI hear the bartenders are on point with their drinks today.â
Dante brought his arm around her waist so he wouldnât loose her as they traveled through the crowd, âI could see that. Not many people enjoy seafood that much.â He certainly wasnât one of those. He loved anything and everything that came from the sea. As a child, his grandfather used to take him and although he hated fishing he enjoyed eating everything that they caught. Dante didnât hesitate to lean down and return the kiss wrapping both his arms around her then. He laughed when she began to tug, letting her go while keeping her hand in his. âI absolutely loved it,â Dante held out a chair for her to seat, before reaching his own, âI miss it all. The feeling of just letting loose and doing what I love and having people enjoy and sing with me. Itâs unlike anything else.â His smile was big as he remembered the good old days, he was still pumped with adrenaline from it all. âBut enough about me. How are you doing? You seem to be enjoying yourself a great deal. I like it. I like seeing you smile.â
âWhich is funny because I like literally everything else, seafood-wise. Pretty much all the fish, like have you ever tried fried milkfish? Or like tinolang isda? Itâs this kind of fish soup. Or adobong pusit?â Adee curiously asked. âTheyâre all delicious. Maybe I can cook for you some time?â She shyly asked, her cheeks heating up at the feeling of his arm around her waist. It was wild to her how theyâve slept together multiple times before, but small acts of intimacy like that were what made her absolutely red in the face. âA gentleman,â Adee teased him, before showing him a soft smile. âYou looked really happy up there. Thank you for... for asking me to be your plus one today,â she said, pride evident in her voice. There he goes again, making her feel like a schoolgirl with a crush. A couple of sweet words from him that caught her off guard and her cheeks were heating up again. âI am. I really am,â Adee said, using her hands to hide her cheeks. âYeah, well, Iâm smiling because of you,â she admitted, this time hiding her entire face behind her hands. âStop it before my entire face overheats,â Adee said, finally dropping her hands and letting out a laugh, just as their food arrived. âOkay, remember. No making fun of me if I get sauce on my face,â she reminded him. âI have absolutely no idea how to look like a lady while eating ribs,â Adee added with another laugh. âHey, did you want to stay up until the fireworks?âÂ

And you got to lick your fingers after, or youâre not entirely done.â He demonstrated with his own, grinning at her. âYeah, I got some blankets in the car, we can set up somewhere on the beach. Hopefully itâs not too over crowded.âÂ
âOh, Iâm sure Grey has some hiding. Theyâre just waiting for him to jump up there and start blasting his beats to throw their panties upâ He laughed jokingly, âThey just know when youâre coming around so they stay on the low.â He had better stop it before he gets Grey in trouble for no real reason. âHonestly? Yeah. I donât know if I would go back, but being up there just feels right. Felt blissfulâ Something he hasnât felt in a long time.
Danteâs words were starting to paint a mental image that was making Feyâs eye twitch. âThey better stay there, if they know whatâs good for them,â she said, tone sweet as syrup, though the smile on her lips was anything but. But then she remembered who her boyfriend was and that smile turned a lot more genuine. She knew she had nothing to fear trust-wise with that man, but she was still going to put bitches in their place, if she had to. âWait, why wonât you go back if it feels right?â Fey asked, eyebrows furrowed. âIsnât that the whole point of living? Going after what feels right and doing it for, like, ever?â

âIâm just messing, you wonât have to fuck up anyone today.â He laughed, knowing well that she wouldnât be held back if she tried.
