Hi! This blog is for me to explore a character I'm making for a fic. So it will include anecdotes, notes, interesting pokemon facts, data, stories, etc., about/for him.

Information under the cut. :)

So without further ado:

DANTE MOORE

* Faller

Fell through an Ultra Wormhole while a park ranger outpost was collapsing due to bad construction.

* Soulmate AU

The first words you say to your soulmate while maintaining eye-contact are on your forearms.

* Field researcher

He will battle when he has to, but other than that, it's going to be about pokemon behaviour, variants, and looking after pokemon.

He's given some tasks from Professor Juniper sometimes, like looking after pokemon that need more exposure to humans, or hatching pokemon eggs, or babysitting pokemon from the lab that other people don't have time to do.

* Age: 30

* Appearance: Black hair, purple eyes, looks tired all the time, has many ear piercings, wears a thin choker. Likes to layer when he can, usually with warm tones.

* Personality: Curious, can be stubborn sometimes, can hold a grudge (depends on the wrongdoing), likes to ask questions to answers he doesn't know.

* Will be Ingo/Dante/Emmet. No incest.

POKEMON

* Naming: The first letter of their final evolution dictates their name.

* Beau the Weedle (male)

Confiscated by customs in Unova due to pokemon abuse and bringing an undocumented pokemon into the region. Given to Professor Juniper.

Missing his horn and stinger. Previous trainer removed them for the "safety of their son" so he "wouldn't get poisoned or hurt".

Given to Dante as a non-combat pokemon.

* Gadget the Joltik (male)

While taking pictures and observing pokemon in Chargestone Cave, Joltik hitches a ride on Dante. He isn't found until Dante is in his tent and ready for bed.

* Dusk the Dreepy (male)

A Dreepy breeder asked Professor Juniper to hatch the egg for them since it was being stubborn with hatching. The egg is given to Dante to look after. It hatches and its right arm is only 1/4 formed. The breeder didn't want the pokemon, so Dante kept it.

* Aspen the Aron (female)

How to write smut ?

writing smut depends on each person's writing style but i think there's something so gut-wrenchingly beautiful about smut when it's not very graphic and vivid. like., would this turn on a reader more?

"he kissed her, pulling her body closer to him."

or this?

"His lips felt so familiar it hurt her heart. His breathing had become more strained; his muscles tensed. She let herself sink into his embrace as his hands flattened against her spine. He drew her closer."

(Before proceeding further, these are all "in my opinion" what I think would make it better. Apply parts of the advice you like and neglect the aspects you do not agree with it. Once again I'm not saying you have to follow a certain type of style to write smut! Creative freedom exists for a reason!)

One may like either the top or the bottom one better, but it totally depends on your writing to make it work. Neither is bad, but the second example is more flattering, talking literally. (Here is me an year after writing this post, i think, either is amazing, depending on the context. the type of book you're writing, your writing style and preferences!)

express one's sensory feelings, and the readers will automatically know what's happening.

writing, "her walls clenched against him, her breath hitching with his every thrust" is better than writing, "she was about to cum".

(edit: once again, hi, it's me. Either is amazing depending on ur writing style. Everything at the end is about taste.)

here are some vocabulary you can introduce in your writing:

whimpered, whispered, breathed lightly, stuttered, groaned, grunted, yearned, whined, ached, clenched, coaxed, cried out, heaved, hissed

shivering, shuddering, curling up against one's body, squirming, squirting, touching, teasing, taunting, guiding, kneeling, begging, pining, pinching, grinding,

swallowing, panting, sucking in a sharp breath, thrusting, moving gently, gripped, biting, quivering,

nibbling, tugging, pressing, licking, flicking, sucking, panting, gritting, exhaling in short breaths,

wet kisses, brushing soft kisses across their body (yk where), licking, sucking, teasing, tracing, tickling, bucking hips, forcing one on their knees

holding hips, guiding the one on top, moving aimlessly, mindlessly, sounds they make turn insanely beautiful, sinful to listen to

some adverbs to use: desperately, hurriedly, knowingly, teasingly, tauntingly, aimlessly, shamelessly, breathlessly, passionately, delicately, hungrily

he sighed with pleasure

her skin flushed

he shuddered when her body moved against his

he planted kisses along her jawline

her lips turned red, messy, kissed and flushed.

his hands were on his hair, pulling him.

light touches traveled down his back

words were coiled at his throat, coming out as broken sobs, wanting more

he arched his back, his breath quivering

her legs parted, sinking into the other's body, encircling around their waist.

+ mention the position, how they're being moved around---are they face down, kneeling, or standing, or on top or on bottom--it's really helpful to give a clear picture.

+ use lustful talk, slow seduction, teasing touches, erratic breathing, give the readers all while also giving them nothing. make them yearn but DO NOT PROLONG IT.

sacculina makes me go a little insane honestly and not even for strictly transgenderly reasons... its life cycle involves attaching itself to a crab, producing eggs in place of that crab's eggs, and using the female's natural "egg dispersal" technique to, well, disperse its own eggs; but what do they do if they attach to a male host? give up and die? of course not, they simply instigate a hormone cascade that fundamentally changes the crab forever. easy!

and this is just what being an arthropod is like most of the time. bugs get parasitized like CRAZY. theyre the worlds most hijackable machines and you better believe the biosphere is taking advantage of that fact

Treyn/Trewyn/etc – pretty self-explanatory. first names are "ingoing" and "outgoing", might as well add the "train" part back in as a surname Grey – from impossibleJedi's fics. according to the author: "based on a blend of their uniform colors, the black and white game theme, and the dragons. they're working together as a blend of truth and ideals! thus: grey" Vanderbilt – suggested in the previous poll, after the railroad magnate Cornelius Vanderbilt, who apparently had Grand Central Station in NYC built (which Gear Station is arguably based on) Cardinal – from evtraininguniversity's fics, after the four cardinal directions, Ingo being north and Emmet being south, and their parents (in the fics) representing east and west Trevithick – suggested in the previous poll, after Richard Trevithick, who built the first steam locomotive Conway – from yautjan's fic In Tandem and suggested in the previous poll. i'm actually not sure why the author chose this one; perhaps something to do with the scenic railroad in Conway, NH, or the word "way" denoting directions like their first names do Wagner – suggested in the previous poll, a German surname meaning "wagonmaker" or "wagon-driver", somewhat alluding to conducting trains. also goes along with their first names being Germanic in origin Stockton – from raisansgrapeon, from what's considered the world's first public railway line, the Stockton and Darlington Railway Subway – this one's a joke lol Pokémon characters don't have surnames – came up a couple times when discussing this headcanon in various places. technically this isn't able to be proven true or false, since there are characters like the professors who seemingly go by their surnames (at least Oak does for sure, but then it gets confusing with say, Kukui and Burnet, who are married but have different names. could be that she just didn't take his surname but we can't know for certain lol). however for the most part we only get first names for characters. i'm not counting Ash, as he's anime-only and only has a surname in the English translation there were more suggestions that i did not include, but these polls only allow so many options!

Fuck, fuck, fuck, fuck, fuck, are the running thoughts going through Dante’s mind. He’s speed-walking toward the next train, Beau hovering behind him and keeping a hold of his shoulder with a stinger. They bypass many other pokémon and people, slithering through the gaps between. All Dante can think is ‘fuck’.

He’d met a soulmate.

Thankfully he didn’t seem to know he was one; Dante made sure to avoid eye-contact with him and wasn’t about to out himself either. But Dante had met him, and now he knew the face to avoid. It couldn’t be difficult, surely? He’d only met the man twice and he seemed to be a very busy individual. Dante was just another faceless passenger in the crowd.

He stops at the edge of the platform, behind the yellow line. Around him, people and pokémon wait patiently for the train to arrive, their bodies undulating with impatience. He tries to calm his racing heartbeat and his flying thoughts, raking a hand through his hair. Beau nuzzles his neck from behind, pressing his body against his, his wings fluttering soothingly. He sighs and reaches up a hand to caress Beau’s head.

“Thanks bud,” he says. Beau buzzes in response.

Having calmed down, he thinks about his next move. Going back to Mistralton City was annoying, but he’d be back soon like last time. Technically. Last time he was there, Beau had evolved from a cute little Kakuna to a Beedrill. Thankfully Gadget nor Aspen seemed any closer to evolving.

The egg, however…

He hoped beyond all hope that the egg didn’t hatch in Mistralton City, otherwise he’d have to upgrade ‘a coincidence’ to ‘a pattern’ and he wasn’t looking forward to having all his pokémon do miraculous things there…

“Tick!” Gadget chirps from his breast pocket. Dante smiles, looking down at Gadget. He was finally awake.

“I am Emmet. I noticed the Joltik in your pocket. I hope you didn’t steal it.” Dante looks up and meets the eyes of a familiar looking man, this time in a white uniform and a smile on his face. A twin? Fuck. Wait. Did he just say—? You have GOT to be KIDDING ME.

He quickly avoids eye contact, saying, “No, he’s mine, sorry,” in response, his heart ratcheting up again. Why was this happening to him? Both in one day? He could avoid one, but two? How did he even manage? Maybe if he didn’t say anything to them while maintaining eye-contact, ever? It couldn’t be hard. He’d only met this one the once, and his twin twice. It was doable. He hoped.

Beau buzzes menacingly from over his shoulder, his red eyes narrowed at the man in white.

“I see. We have many around Gear Station. My mistake.”

“Is that so?” Dante tersely responds, his body going rigid. He takes a quick step away from the man, still looking away. Please, train, come faster. Save him from this interaction.  

The rattling and screeching of a train coming down the tracks makes him relax slightly; Beau, however, continues to buzz, his stingers clutching onto his body. He bites his lip. It was an interesting feeling of pride and shame swirling within his chest. Pride that Beau was protecting him, like he had protected Beau; shame that Beau was protecting him at all. Especially from someone that wasn’t even showing any menace. He wasn’t intimidating. Peeking out of the corner of his eye, he sees that the man has turned away and seemed to be gesturing to someone on the platform.

The train screeches to a halt in front of them, and Dante quickly hops into the cab, finding a place to sit next to a window. He unbuckles the incubator from his back and places it next to him. Beau hovers for a moment, before deciding to sit in his lap, his face coming up to rest beneath his chin. He curls his arms around him. Gadget makes himself comfy in his pocket and closes his eyes, chirring contently.

“Thanks, Beau. Love you.”

Beau nuzzles against him more firmly, his antennae tickling the side of his cheek. “Bee,” his bug says in response. He smiles softly.

Oh! I’ve never heard of a shelter having an Unown surrendered to them before!

I’m not interested in adopting it myself, but I am curious - do you think you’ll get a lot of treasure hunter type folks coming in to try and adopt it? I’ve heard rumors that Unown can lead to treasure, but the rumors never specified anything concrete.

oh, we didn't adopt it out. a pokemon as strange and rare as an unown showing up is really weird so we assumed it was either an escape research pokemon or a lost captive pokemon.

a quick microchip scan gave us its trainers id card number, and we have a system where we can look up trainer ids to see if the trainer has input their contact info. thankfully we were able to call up the trainer (who ended up being a researcher, though this was not one of their research pokemon), so we were just holding the pokemon temporarily!

by the way, if you haven't yet, please take the 10 minutes to log on to the national trainer id service and register your contact info. most pokeballs microchip your pokemon with your id number by default, and if you ever lose one of your pokemon, this could make all the difference in reuniting you! only people like shelter workers, rangers, and pokemon center staff can scan for this info, so it's really safe. we've seen so many pokemon come in that have a microchip but no contact info, and it's sad to think their trainer is missing them and we have no way to reach out to them.

You’ve mentioned hormonal disorders causing delayed evolutions but does it ever happen in the opposite direction?

it can, yes. any disorder that causes an excess of hormones being produced can push a pokemon's body into overdrive and accelerate its evolution. pokerus has also been known to cause early evolution due to the influx of testosterone it produces, as testosterone is commonly associated with evolution in pokemon. a congenital hormonal disorder is thought to be the reason several extremely low-leveled salamence were found on melemele island in alola a few years ago.

extreme environmental stressors can also force evolution early on, as in the case of the gyarados in the lake of rage that evolved in response to radio signals put out by team rocket. fish pokemon in general can be extremely sensitive to sound frequencies, and this particular signal hit just the right tone to cause magikarp to evolve after long enough exposure. while we typically see the hormone production leading up to evolution as a eustress, in cases like this, it can be the result of a negative experience for the pokemon.

unfortunately, pokemon that evolve early tend to have a shorter lifespan than those that evolve at the expected time. early evolution is often the result of an underlying condition, and it's much more stressful on the body. it's best if an issue that could cause premature evolution is caught early and managed as best as possible to give the pokemon the best shot at a full life.
