Harrison: Nah, I will worry about it. Where the hell did yougo anyway? My sister wouldn't stop asking me, and I was pretty worried too so, ya know.

Dante: I don't care. He never liked me, and I never liked him. If I were him I wouldn't be excited about me being part of his clique either.

Dante: I just went out for a walk, had a smoke and talked to Wes a bit. Why?

Dante: You're starting to sound like your dad, Lynn.

Mateo: Vasquez, when the hell are you coming back football? If you think we were drowning before, you have no idea how bad it is now.

Mateo: And what the fuck is up with the leather shit man? Doesn't that fucking shit chafe?

Dante: Never. I'm not coming back.

Dante: Don't you have anything better to do than worry about my pants, Fuckerman?

Wes’s hold on Dante tightened further and he leaned his head down to rest it on Dante’s. “Okay. If that’s what you want then that’s what you want.” he told him, turning to give the top of his head a kiss. “I’ll try really hard to be okay with it myself. Because I love you and want you to be happy.” He added, meaning it for the most part. He did want Dante to be happy, and he was gonna try to accept this new him. But as of then, he did not like the idea. He did not like it one bit. “And I definitely want you to be mine. Always.”

“I love you too.” Dante beamed, his lips curling up into a smile as Wesley kissed his head. He lifted his hand to cup Wesley’s chin, tilting it slightly, before he leaned into him and brushed his lips against his. Not in a millions years Dante would have thought that he’d kiss Wesley, or any guy for that matter in public, but now that he was doing it he could feel the adrenaline course through his veins. Doing all these things that his asshole family would never approve of was making him feel alive. “Good, because I am yours. I always have been and I always will be.” he breathed softly against Wesley’s lips. “I wanna be your boyfriend again, but for real this time. No more secrets and no more hiding. I don’t care about what anyone thinks of it anymore. They can all drop dead for all I care. I just wanna be with you, Wes.”

Giving Dante a smile, he nodded his head. “I can understand that.” he reassures the other. Letting go of Dante’s hand, Wes scooted closer to him and wrapped his arms tightly around Dante’s waist; trying very hard to ignore the scent as he leaned into him. “Why does it have to be this kind of stuff though? … the bad stuff? Like smoking? And guyliner…?” He asks softly, mostly because he wanted to understand what was going through Dante’s head with this ridiculous nature. “If you want something different we can sign you up for the Cheerios or something.”

“Just cause... it makes me feel happy. It makes me feel free.” It made him feel something other than constant numbness, but he didn’t want to tell Wesley that. “I’m not joining the Cheerios, Wes. I don’t wanna be that guy anymore. Being popular means nothing to me. It only reminds me of every shitty thing I’ve done in my life, to others, to myself...” Dante swallowed hard before continuing, feeling rather emotional by the conversation, and buried his face in the crook of Wesley’s neck. “I’m just sick of being someone I’m not, sick of trying to impress people who don’t give a shit about me. I just wanna live my life, you know? I just... I wanna be yours...”

Dante leaving was the last thing Wesley wanted. As the other’s hand retracted, Wes reached out and took hold of it again, his head shaking fast. “No. Don’t go. I didn’t say that I wanted you to go.” he told the other, pushing a pout onto his face and flashing Dante a pair of pleading eyes. “This is all just… a lot at once, okay? The smell, the smoking, the… guyliner. I need to adjust.” Wesley explained, hoping that Dante would understand rather than get mad and unfriend him like he used to. 

Dante was caught off guard by Wesley taking his hand again, and a shudder rippled through his body as their fingers entwined with each other. He let out a soft sigh as he looked back at Wes. The pout on the boy’s face always managed to make Dante feel bad and agree to anything, and he wondered if the cheerleader was aware of that and doing it on purpose. “I... I guess so.” he mumbled under his breath as he played with Wesley’s fingers. “Sorry... I’m just trying out some stuff.”

As Dante got closer, his gross overbearing scent got stronger. It was a scent Wesley immediately despised, almost as much as Dante’s disgusting skank appearance. It made it entirely hard to concentrate on the placement of Dante’s hand, and made how close they were completely unenjoyable. “Why does being bad have to include smelling like you rolled around with a skunk?” His words slipped out, he didn’t mean to say it. But once it was out, it was too late to take it back.

Although he felt like he got punched in the gut by Wesley’s words, at least now Dante finally knew where he stood with the boy. “Alright. Message received.” he spoke coldly as he retracted his hand. It was basically the story of his life, so he didn’t know why it still surprised him, people not accepting him for who he was. Yes, Wesley had told him that he loved him numerous of times, but Dante should have known better than to believe that. “I should probably be going then, so you don’t have to deal with my skunk scent.”

“Right. Since a few days.” Wesley mumbled, having to force a scowl from crossing his features. He was thankful when Dante put the icky cancer stick out. Yet he still wanted to march himself up to mophead Lynn and give him a piece of his mind. Instead, he curled his hands around the edge of the bench and breathed out a sigh. “Those aren’t good for you. They’ll make you sick.” He stated, ignoring Dante’s question.

Dante had to stop himself from rolling his eyes at Wes. The boy was obviously in a mood, and Dante didn’t really feel like dealing with a moody Wes right now. In an attempt to get him to lighten up a little, Dante shifted closer to the cheerleader, so he could lean his head against his shoulder and put his hand on Wesley’s thigh. “Yea, well... a lot of things aren’t good for me, Wes.” he whispered in a slightly suggestive tone. “I guess I just kinda feel like being a little bad.”

“Oh, uh, thanksies. So does yours and all…” Wes said, trying to be as polite as possible/ However, he couldn’t help himself. His face scrunched up entirely as soon as Dante breathed out the first puff from his cigarette. “Since when do you smoke?!” he asked, sounding more disgusted and shocked than he meant to.

"Oh, since a few days.” Dante answered with a shrug, before taking another puff from his cigarette. He could tell that Wesley was grossed out by what he was doing, so he dropped it on the ground before meeting the other boy’s gaze again. “Seriously though, it looks really soft. Are you using new hair products or something?” he asked, his lips curling into a smile.

Wesley couldn’t believe it. Those Lynns were ruining his Dante. Sure, they seemed nice enough when he went over the other night but… going as far as to turn Dante into… this? It nearly made Wesley feel sick. However, he forced a smile and headed in Dante’s direction to sit beside him. “Hey.” he said, before looking around. “You’re … uh… I didn’t recognize you for a second.”

“Yea, I figured as much.” he chuckled softly, and put the cigarette between his lips. Dante could recognize a fake Wesley smile when he saw one, and he wasn’t surprised at all that the cheerleader didn’t seem to enjoy his new look much. He lit his cigarette in silence, and took a deep drag from it before exhaling the smoke from his lungs. “Your hair looks really pretty today.”

Wesley was leaving the field after practice, assuming he was able to just shower when he got home rather than waste time among the lesser male cheerios in the locker room. As he was heading past the benches and the bleachers he caught a bleacher skank out of the corner of his eyes, sitting in blatant daylight like they never deserved to be. Turning on his heals, he crossed his arms over his chest, and started speaking. “Hey freak! Who let you-…” he cut himself off, eyes widening when he realized who the bleacher skank was. “Oh… Dante?” 

“Hi”, Dante replied, cocking an eyebrow when he was being referred to as freak. However, it wasn’t like it was the first time this week that he was being called such, as well as harsher things. Wes and him hadn’t spoken to each other since the boy had dropped by his new house a few days ago. It wasn’t like Dante avoided him on purpose, but he also wasn’t taking the initiative to talk to him either. He just wasn’t sure where he stood with Wes, or where he stood with anything for that matter.
