A way smaller town than this one, that’s for sure. I don’t think you ever heard of it but I used to live in Lima, Ohio before I moved here. And that’s a whole other story cause it’s wasn’t really planned to do that. That’s kind of sad. You’re more than welcome to come just hang with Banner for a while. He’s a big teddy bear. He loves being petted.  Awesome! We’ll set something up, maybe next week? Uhm, well Banner is a Saint Bernard, a big giant and yeah he looks scary but he’s super sweet and I’m a bit of a comic geek so he’s kind of named after Bruce Banner. One of my friends, Quinn -have you met her?- she’s the only one who calls him Bruce. Right?! Super name for a store, right? Yeah, I work there and I own the place. So do you work for a paper over here? 

Nope, never heard of Lima, Ohio. I do have an aunt who lives in Columbus though. But I’ve never visited. Oh man, that’s the type of dog that was in that movie Beethoven. I always thought that dog was cute, and big. I don’t think I could ever have a dog that big, but someone told me big dogs like that are harmless. Same person had a German shepherd. We can definitely plan something for next week. And yes I have met Quinn, well spoken to her online. And Bruce Banner is very clever. He is the best avenger after all. Wow, you own it? That’s impressive that you came out here and made a life for yourself. I have a ton of questions, but I won’t bore you with them. And when you have some free time, just hit me up. Oh, and do you happen to know of places that may be hiring around here?

Theeeeeeeeen you’ll love what I’ve got in store for you!! Look forward to cookies and cream, strawberry and german chocolate! These are super new to me but I wanted to try something new to mix it up! Also if people really like these then I’ll add them to the goodies I’ll offer when I officially start selling my sweet treats! And stay in your pjs! My last client leaves at 5:30 so I can get in my pajamas and go there.

You haven’t!? Here is a link to their YouTube account! I used to record all their show and run their social media, which has fallen by the wayside but I think they want to take a break soon anyway. Twenty-two years on the road will do that to you! I was! I missed out on a lot of stuff like school dances and homecoming and everything people do. Which sucks but I had a lot of fun with what I did do. I moved here a year and a half go. So around 23/24issssh. It’s totally fine! I love to talk!

Are you going to open up your own bakery, or are you going to just sell it out of your apartment? Either way is cool. Doing something you love and getting paid for it. Does your expertise just stop at cupcakes though? Like can you make cake and pies? Oh,and german chocolate is my absolute fave!

Twenty-two years is a very long and successful time on the road. And as long as you had fun and enjoyed the road, then that’s all that really matters. Was it hard making friends? And do you still keep in contact with the friends you may have made? Well if you love to talk, then we will get along just fine. I love talking and listening, so if you have any stories to tell, I’m all ears.

No, it’s cool, it’s cool. I’m grateful for it. Yeah, deep into Queens. Like, two trains and a twenty minute walk Queens. I’ve been here about six months now. It’s nice. I like it.

Oh man. I have to admit that as long as I have lived in New York, I’ve only been to Queens a handful of times, and never that deep. What brought you all the way over here though? If you don’t mind me asking of course.

Well thank you! And yea the people here seem so welcoming so far. Have you done any sight seeing so far? And what brought you here?

Yes, well kind of. I am a traveling journalist where I got to different countries, cities, and just live there for a year documenting everything from the cost of living, to the night life, the schools, the different neighborhoods, the people, the food, the culture, Myths, and I just write about it. I started doing it as a hobby, but then my blog got really popular and now I make a living doing this.

Nice to meet you also Lucifer. Has anyone ever told you that you have a unique name? Like one of those names that should be a headliner somewhere? Just an observation. Anyway, I hope I can meet you with you one of these days.

Danyelle: Maybe we have. I'm liking it so far. I'm still trying to meet people and hang out with people and just get the feel of this small quaint town. How do you like it here so far? And do you have any favorite sights?

Yay!!! I LOVE to bake and I’ve started to add filling into my cupcakes lately so I hope you like the ones I plan to bring you either later today or tomorrow! I want to give you plenty of time to get settled before I hop over!

I’m from ALL OVER the US! My parents are traveling folk rock singers and we’ve lived in a RV for most of my life. But I guess my actual place I was born is Austin, Texas. BUT I’ve lived the longest here so I guess this is my home?? Annnnnd I’m just a super sunny person so I guess that’s where it comes from.

Cupcakes are literally sweet, so it would be sweeter with filling, and I love all things sweet. So I’m sure I’ll like the ones you make. I have like a huge sweet tooth at all times. So yea, tomorrow may be best because I plan on just laying around in my pjs until inspiration strikes.

Oh my, your life sounds so much cooler than anyone I know. Folk rock singers? Never heard of that, but it’s so cool that you travelled around a lot. Does that mean you were homeschool? And how old were you when you moved here? I’m so sorry for all the questions. Sometimes I just get over excited.

Last pizza place you went to. Before you got on the plane. Describe it in detail. I need this.

Are you a fellow New York? Or someone who is going to be visiting New York soon?

I take pictures of everthing, and this was about 12 hours ago. 

As far as the actually place: The place was real small, but had two big ovens and their were pizzas, with all toppings in the display, with some garlic knots, and beef patties. And the smell of melted mozzarella hits you as soon as you walk in. The pizza itself was pepperoni, and though it burned my gums at first bie, it was so worth it. I can’t really describe it. Just one of those things that you have to experience in person.

So, I’ve never been the date of a best man before. Do I have any extra responsibilities at this wedding that I should know about? Besides showing up on time and not making an idiot of myself until the reception? Is there some weird tradition that I just never caught onto? Should I catch the bouquet?

Honestly, I think the best man has all the responisibilities and you just have to sit there and look good. Dance with them, mingle, and if you want to catch the bouquet, go for it because you’re not married or anything.

Hello Hartenstraat!!!

Hoped I spelled that right. Anywho, After an 8 hour flight, and unpacking my things, I am finally settled in. And I’ll probably catch up on some sleep, because I can never sleep on the plane. At all.

So if you’re wondering, my name is Danyelle, and I’m from Manhattan, New York. I’m also a journalist, and I will be here for about a year give or take a few months. I would love to meet people, and see the sites, and talk to locals or visitor, or whoever. Don’t be shy!

Danyelle was born and raised in New York, NY. Her father is a Cardiologist, while her mother is a criminal defense attorney. She is the only daughter in the family and is the youngest of three.

Although Danyelle’s parents had high-powered jobs, they only wanted their children to do whatever made them happy and be whoever they wanted. So, when Danyelle came out at 15, her parents accepted her with open arms and were proud that she was able to tell them. When Danyelle wanted to major in communication instead of business or some other elite major, they accepted that and helped her with her college application.

Danyelle received her bachelor’s degree and went on to work for the New York Post, but as an assistant. She found out quickly that she didn’t want a job where she was tied to the desk. So, instead of waiting until she was burned out, she talked to her parents and they agreed that she can travel for a year.

And she did and documented everything, took pictures, did live blogs, and soon her blog “Danyelle Travels” became an instant hit. She even got a job for a new magazine who wanted her travel tips and suggestions in their publications. This was right up her alley because she was basically getting paid for doing something that she loved.

Her section of the magazine started taking request, and Amsterdam came up. That’s how she found herself in Hartenstraat. And she couldn’t be more excited to write about the life, the people, the food, and the city.
