Although the movie was good, I preferred the book. The book went in dept more and showed better character development than the movie in my opinion. I did like the addition of the back story on the wife and the symbolism of the piano, and wedding ring on the bridge. The boy in the film was the...
I pictured the boy the same age, too! I worked with kids around his age, and they still whined, cried, and complained just like him. I wanted to see the inside of the boat as well. I was disappointed they left that out. And I was upset they didn't show the scene with the little boy going in the ocean. I liked that part of the book for some odd reason. I did like the way they showed the start of the post apocalyptic world they live in. The man and wife just looking out the window and the audience can see the fire reflecting on the window, and hear the screams, was good.
