Hearing people: but why can’t you just talk?  I learned to sign the alphabet, you owe it to me to meet me halfway!  It’s the LEAST you could do!!!

Deaf person: *speaks with an accent*

Hearing people: hahahaha you sound like a r*tard!!!!!  *mimics pronounciation and mocks voice*

Deaf person: *speaks without an accent*

Hearing people: but you don’t sound deaf??!!  You’re faking lol REAL deaf people can’t talk!!!!

“A brave transgender 10-year-old girl named Rebekah spoke at a rally last weekend in support of transgender students and their right to be protected from discrimination in the public school system.

The rally stemmed from President Donald Trump’s roll back of an Obama-era guidance that protected the right of trans kids to use the bathroom that corresponds with their gender identity.

Only you have the power to defeat the haters you come across. It is our jobs as friends to help build the other individuals around us and the friends we have. My question to you is how are you going to support this those in your life. Be a friend try to reach someone who you would not have reached previously. Be the friend someone truly needs today. I have had the luck of meeting quite a few individuals who have helped me a long the way each of them deserve a thank you but I can't easily provide the thank you they deserve so I am going to give back the way they gave to me. Why??

So I have come to find I feel alone a lot more than I would care to be. I feel like the outcast in the in the group because no one seems to realize it but I can make connections but than still feel like the odd person. Oddly it never seems to go away. Why do I have to be so odd and so different and a person people don't want to hang out with.

Coffee, good music, and good weather make me a very happy person. I also enjoying the memories from an amazing weekend. I got to spend the weekend with some of those people who have become my best friends and biggest supporters I am so lucky to have. I am so glad to have all the support I do.

Misgendering

Stop referring to people as a gender they do not identify. For me I do not identify as she I may sound like a female but that does not mean I identify as that. So please stop referring to me as she and hun and what not because it is triggering. I go by they but if you must please refer to me at the least as he. Stop just guessing I go by she. Thank you

The two Ds

For the longest time I truly had not accepted myself. You may be asking what do you mean not accepted myself. Well simply put the two Ds of my life. No not as in the grade but in the letter. My blog name give it away Dapper and Disabilities. Now I bet you are wondering why those two words. It all goes back to accepting myself. I have always kind of known I was different but never to what extent. As a kid I could see I didn't want to be like my other classmates. I could see I didn't get the information the same way as my classmates. So much was plainly different and it still is different. But different isn't always bad. However, in order for you to allow others to accept you we must first accept ourselves. So through the empowerment of the two Ds I found away to accept myself. First is the word Dapper is because I will also be an individual seeking to look my best and my finest. Which does so happen to not prescribe to the norm of my biological sex. This lead me to find I was transmasculine agender. It has also lead to me finding more about myself. The one word means so much to me. To my life is brought joy and happiness that I couldn't believe. It is a simple word but it brought a lot of acceptance into my life. The second D or disabilities. Truly was a word that has both negative and positive connotations to it for me. Positively it has made me believe that no matter what these disabilities I have will forever keep me as me. No one else can be me. My disabilities effect me in a negative way by just straight up making my life a challenge. However, these challenges have helped me face the world in a new set of glasses I wouldn't have had otherwise. My disabilities include: being deaf I wasn't born deaf but I went deaf, being almost blind, having PTSD, fetal alcohol syndrome, a heart condition, and allergies. These disabilities invade my everyday life but I will not let them get me down instead I will face them head on. No matter what you are facing remember you are strong enough. Remember that you are good enough and that you are valid. To each of you battling whatever it is you are battling hear this one thing YOU ARE GOOD ENOUGH!!!
