Different "talking animal" media have different approaches to the fact that some of these animals would realistically be trying to eat the others (some just ignore that entirely, some expect us to believe the prey animals are cool with it, some use it as a running gag, some make it into a very contentious racism allegory, ...) but I like how the Madagascar movies made that into one of the main conflicts in the first movie and then drop it almost entirely in subsequent installments

Also since I'm talking about Madagascar I should probably bring up that, while it's certainly possible that the animal characters were just in a particularly remote part of the island, the implication that there are no living humans in a sovereign country that had a population of over 19 million when the first movie came out is kinda messed up

I’ve already been going this way for a while, but I really am at the point where I’m only donating to campaigns and candidates directly - no more DNC, DSCC, DCCC etc. At least not until shit gets better and things change.

Which sucks, because part of the issue is the lack of durable infrastructure and support. But if the party doesn’t want that, I’ll do what I can for who I can.

Staffing for these orgs needs to change too - the requirements and the pay are both fucked and reinforce the situation we find ourselves in.
