Bed (November-December 2025)

Graduated to finally, tentatively, drawing mutant turtle tots. Pardon the quality, I'm still somewhere without a scanner so I had to use my phone camera, and editing can only do so much.

I love these beans so much 🥹

Sketches and some rambling under the cut

I used to feel embarrassed when posting drawings that had human in it, because I didn't know how to draw anatomy properly yet (I still don't, as you can see) and was very self-conscious about how weird/awkward my drawings looked. But since seeing people's response to the Frieren meme, I started to think that... it's okay to draw imperfectly and still share it, because at least I drew it myself, with my own hands.

I'm not saying how rapidly and easily people accept and (mis)use genAI become okay because it united artists across the internet (the world?), but I think there is a silver lining in that, besides the uniting. It gave me courage to make and share imperfect art, and perhaps it did the same to many other people like me too.

Insomnia and Turtle Pile (November 2025)

I was struggling with insomnia just recently, and one of my sources of joy during those sleep-deprived days were turtles and drawing turtles. It's just convenient that this particular turtle is always depicted as having insomnia by fans.

In those sleepless nights, I wished I had brothers who would cuddle me to sleep, like Leo does :')
